She’s in great shape for her age. These were made by yanmar, and rebadged JD. Before I got my ford 1210 (rebadged shibura) I was looking for a 650/750, but couldn’t find one that wasn’t destroyed, or a fortune. My ford had the same style exhaust as yours, what I found was the radiator fan would draw the exhaust/soot through the radiator and clog it up. I turned the exhaust straight up and added a pipe extension so it wouldn’t choke me out. I used my ford with a boom sprayer, and a fertilizer spreader. Thanks for the vid.
Interesting! Mine can be sooty when you floor it from low RPMs but for the most part burns pretty clean. I have wondered about turning the exhaust upward so I'm not breathing it as much, but I think that may make that problem worse since I'm relatively tall. I almost got a Ford 8N, but went with the JD 650 over that model because of the belly mower and more importantly, stability (and the roll bar) for my steep front lawn.
I had a 850 4x4 for a little bit. Bought it for cheap and went through it. Essentially flipped it. Now I have my own piece of property and I would LOVE to have a 650 4x4 for mowing and snow removal. They're such nice compact tractors!
I have one of these, as well. Luckily, mine has the front end loader on it. Super handy. The HP at the PTO is 14.5, not 30, though. The engine itself is only 17 HP.
Really nice! I just acquired a Yanmar YM187D that I am going through rehabbing. Our tractors are very similar. Mine has the 3 cylinder. I am wondering about your radiator. Can you tell me if it has 2 smaller outlet pipes, ( one smaller for the drain-plug, and one smaller one that goes back to the engine bottom?) of course there is the larger one down low as well. I'm looking to replace mine with a new one and I had heard that the JD 650's were the same.
What does it have for options on snow removal? Do you know what the highest mowing setting is on the lawn mower? As soon as you mentioned John Deere and painting I just had go to listen to "John Deere Green" LOL
Haha nothing wrong with that. I think you can run snoq blowers on the front. Don't know much about them though. Also obviously you can do the rear box blade or if your has a loader simply use that.
Actually yes because I've been looking for one with a loader. I would want to remove the mower deck though since it would still be needed. How much would you offer for it?
I have a 1987 JD 850. Great tractor!

A tractor video? That’s random! But yeah, who doesn’t love tractors?
Exactly!
