When I watched the cressy work that peace of metal in normal time you did not understand the force that was being used. When watching it on high speed 4k you see the power of cressy was putting in. Thank-you for both films.

Thanks for the video! I do not profess to even be able to comprehend the difficulties in this task. But, based upon what I have heard, I thought the Dali was supposed to have been floated and moved by now. As of now, is there any sort of updated guesstimate on when that may happen? I know people who are scheduled for a cruise out of there in a few weeks so I am wondering what the likelihood of that happening is in the coming weeks. Any words of wisdom or insight would be appreciated.

Capt Andy, a little more back ground for you. The DG sets on most ships have dedicated supply return lines and Racor filters at each genset, fed from a "day Tank" of clean processed fuel via a centrifuge...all marine systems this large follow the IMO reg's, Solas, if you will.. a Main Tie Main, or MTM is how we separate the DG's from each other, they can be isolated in the event of a fault. a fault can be described many ways, short circuit/overload/eq failures..Gensets have undervolatge/overvoltage/under frequency/over frequency devices and phase loss as well as what many folks understand as Tripped, many things can cause a breaker to trip. a generator can trip due to fuel starvation....so back to the day tank for genset, diesel is dirty, in a day tank the dirt settles and can cover the suction line that feed a genset, normal maintenance requires a day tank cleaning every 5 years of so, been there done that, seen the sludge come out of the tank. Yes, the big engines can run on many grades of fuel, hence the need for steam boiler, heavy crude's get's warmed up a bit so it is more liquid if you will, main engine fuel and generator fuel kept separate as best they can...Emergency genset's have a list of required services for emergencies, rules require them to be online within 45 seconds...tested monthly... For those reading this, I have 40 years in the oil patch as electrician/supervisor/manager/wore the white shirt in the office..If you want to know, look up SOLAS requirements for Safety Of Life At Sea, if you want more detail, looks up ABS rules for ship building, there is a special section for electrical systems...40 years folks, plank holder on many keels laid and no idea how many refits upgrades, go look folks, be informed, you may not understand it all, But I do. Thanks Capt Andy and your team, I'm retired now and still alive and kicking, regards to all k5vwz

Why aren’t they getting the debris off the Dali? I would think clearing it and moving the Dali to the port to offload all those containers would be a high priority.
