Wow!! I can't imagine cutting something this large cross section that has been subject to the loads when the bridge collapsed. I would be concerned that when a cut completes the free ends might come back on my body or hands hard and fast.
@@MinorcanMullet Do you have any information on how far they are flame cutting the bridge structure. It would seem very dangerous to fully sever the members. I would not want to do it even if a crane was rigged and had some control.
That claw is amazing, it’s not designed for delicate work, it’s for grabbing whatever it lands on and bringing to the barge. Excellent reporting on the magnitude of the work that needs to be done.
I really liked the speeded up views, because it is a tedious, slow, painstaking process, so for those of us who aren't participating, to see it in quick motion helps to give a better idea of just how much is being done. Not to mention, when you zoomed in on the basket hanging from the crane with the welder/cutter person--wow. When the basket was raised and we could see the occupant, we realized he (or she) is so tiny compared to the structures being worked on. That was a great "scale" shot. Thanks for your thoughtful work.
Thank you Captain for the walk thru showing various activities. Very helpful and informative. Hope the spell of settled Spring weather holds for y’all. Take care.
Yes keep them coming. I have really enjoyed your videos since you started posting. The news is ok 😮 but when was the last time we saw an update on what’s going on. So now when I want news I go to the Minorcan Mullet channel my go to Baltimore Bridge info 😂😂👍👍
I am amazed at what skilled labor can do. From Surgical incision to this. Thank you to all hard working, middle class, skilled labor. The true backbone, underappreciated American. Screw the hedge funds, oligarchs, CEOs., they need to be brought under control.
Seeing the crews working gives life to this recovery...The staggering mass and size of twisted steel is daunting! My heart goes out to these workers...I cannot imagine the stress they are under 😎 Thanks Andy !! I love this stuff...be safe out there brother !!
Salute to my brother riggers, burners , welders, operators, and laborers. Please be safe and thanks for getting it done. God bless ......... Forgot about the boat captains and crews, thank you very much also .......
Another excellent video, thanks Captain Andy. The crew is required under IMO requirements to maintain STCW & SOLAS readiness requirements even though they are years from returning to sea. Keeping the topside Compass Bridge aka “ Monkey Island” clear & tidy is a discipline that needs doing daily. Carry on!
I've just found your channel after a shout out from Sal Mercogliano and it it looks good, i looking forward to watching some of your other videos, best wishes from the UK 🇬🇧
This was a very good video for people to better understand the process. I saw previous comments asking why some of the cranes were just sitting there and wondering if some crews are drawing out the cleanup to make more money. Getting all this bridge out is like playing Jenga. Pulling out the wrong piece could possibly be catastrophic and cause the cleanup to take as much as 10 times longer. Every crane can’t be moving all the time.
Thank you for you quick answer. Coal fired generator. Look how clean the smoke is. Technology has come so far. I don’t mean to take away from the focus of your videos but it is noteworthy
Yes, love the video. It really is cool. When you play fast forward mode then you can actually see work getting done. Very good idea. Love the video. There was something I could do to help sending prayers.
3:20 - Lifting 2 containers at once, a bit faster than one by one. Presumably the unloading crews have the ship's manifest to know the weight of each box.
Sitting here in Mid Michigan watching the selvage operations, all I have is the ship cam from Streamtime. It's a good overall but it can't get into the details. So I do appreciate your videos
love you videos and commentary yours is one of two chanels i am following this incident and clean up on keep doing what you are doing Ilive in New Zealand in a little place called Coromandel Town
1:00 - I had been wondering what the yellow Lima 2400 was used for. Turns out it's handling the drop ball to break up the bridge pavement. The mess of debris that Dale Pyatt is pulling out shows how useful a big dredge is, just grab big handfuls of whatever is down there without worrying about what it is.
Thank you for videos, I was curious about how this going to be done. Very interesting and informative. Thoughtful and considerate view of the memorial for the lost workers. Great work and is appreciated!
Great narration, thanks for the updates. BTW, inter-modal refers to containers that never see sea travel i.e. 53' containers, rail and road worthy legal size to prevent denigration to rusting. ships like Dali can only handle 20' and 40' cans .
Yes like seeing different aspects of the cleanup just mostly watching live stream but camera is very far away and the video is very pixelated so seeing from a different angle and better video resolution is great. Thanks
Anyone who saw the 4 30 story cranes clearing Ground Zero, at the World Trade Center have seen the frightening edges, PAST which big cranes can work. We rarely had to speed up that crazy action!
Wow!! I can't imagine cutting something this large cross section that has been subject to the loads when the bridge collapsed. I would be concerned that when a cut completes the free ends might come back on my body or hands hard and fast.
that's part of why it is staking as long as it is. There's constant reassessment as each piece is cut.
Man! that is some dangerous work right there.
And ?
Closest equivalent is high steel, but I don't see any safety nets.
Thanks for the video loved it would like to see more
Showing different operations sped up is very interesting.
Yes, I like it, keep the focused videos coming.
Quick, excellent update. Keep'em coming Andy.
Thanks, will do!
It does make it easier to understand when sped up. Thanks.
Yes exactly and spare us for a lot of time👋
Thanks for good close-up video of workers & work being done.
You bet
Thank you. You have a great camera and vantage point. Seeing the people cutting that last girder makes the size of the project clear. It's ginormous.
You're welcome!

No. All I can judge by is the images we capture

Fantastic video and update!!! Thank you so much for putting this together for me today!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this video, seeing the various different things people are up to dismantling the mess is fascinating.
Love the sped up video. Makes it easier to understand what goes on. Thank you!

The narration and fast forward speeds made watching much more informing and entertaining.
Thank you Captain for the walk thru showing various activities. Very helpful and informative. Hope the spell of settled Spring weather holds for y’all. Take care.
I DO like this content. And the speeding up does help. Watching the live stream time, it's hard to tell what's going on. This helps a lot! Thank you!

Andy, the speeded up action worked for me. Thanks for your diligence in recording this monumental task.
No problem 👍

Yes, more of these videos. You are giving a perspective not seen from the StreamTime Live cam.
Fascinating, thanks so much

Most people have no understanding about clean coal burning technology. It's very clean, efficient, and economical. All we hear is "Coal Bad"...
Thank you

When I lived in Dundalk my kids called that smokestack the cloud factory. Like this type of video.

You are capturing content unavailable to us that are not "on scene". Amazing the progress that has been made in 4 weeks. Thanks again!
Yes like the multi points
Interesting showing different jobs. Be safe
Thanks 👍
Hi Andy just heard that the news channel the biggest claw is going to come into play shortly to move some of the span holding the Dali.
It gives us a little more insight on what's going on! Thanks
You bet!
And enjoyed it I like the content
A lot of work, R.I.P to the man
Terrific
scary moves hanging in a basket cutting steel at that height and wind conditions!!!!!!
I could imagine the Dali crew is still super anxious.
I'm sure
