    Finally a guy that gives a controller review based on his in game experience.
    Most of the creators out there are more interested about whether the controller casing feels soft or hard than giving a proper review

    I have this controller and it's near a perfect fit for my use case. The only thing it lacks that I still need in a controller of this type is Gyro motion controls and Hall sticks would also be a welcomed addition. Although I've heard they are working on new hall stick modules that we can replace come early 2024.

      Hey so Hall effect models have been confirmed by them coming in early 2024. The controller is really good to use, for me the 125hz is a bit of an issue, but I’ll. e doing a back to back with edge and Nacon rev5 on MW3, to really determine if using this one is a disadvantage.

    My first pro controller. Was tossing between dual sense edge or this. At first, no vibrations, haptics etc. was disappointment. Sensitivity was too high. Got the software, made some adjustments and now gotten used to it. Absolutely love how it performs and feels and will only get an edge in future for sony excluisves or single player games.

      Hey bro I'm really interested in the Razer as well, to me it's looking like an amazing option. I started using my wolverine V2 chroma again, just to see if I can get used to the shape. I'm hoping to get the Wolverine V2 pro but the price scares me every time lol. You see every purchase decision is kinda based for potential videos as well and I'm not sure how much demand for a thorough Wolverine V2 review would be out there. Still for me personally its looking like a good option for MW3.

      To be honest with you, I saw many reviews about the Razer Wolverine v2 Pro but some people they love it & some not, because of the 4 Back paddles position and quality. but you can remap 6 buttons. It’s helpful really to remap 6 buttons, I play only Ranked in Call of Duty MWII/III and Apex Legends and to play Pro you must have 4 paddles.
      Anyway, I’m waiting for the Victrix and Nacon video. Wish you good luck 😊

    When you do stuff like adjust trigger min dead zone on PC app do that settings get saved in controller, thus transferred over to PS5?

    • @thephototechy

      Yea bro yes they do and honestly a sorta must, coz the triggers can become sensitive after use. Right now I use the second shortest settings with some min deadzones as to not accidentally press them.

    Hi again!
    Now I have a bit of experience with BFG and despite its flaws that unfortunately exist I am willing to say: "I love this controller".
    I did a bit of research in regards to not being able to use its app on Windows 11. Supposedly it is possible to install Windows 10 in a virtual box and then run the controller app on it. I am planning to test this for the weekend.
    Another alternative would be to in possession of an extra computer that is a bit older and still runs on Windows 10. Then you could simply use a controller app on that comp. Also I have added a slight modification to the controller.
    Whaaaaat, already!!!?
    😂😂😂
    It is applied in a way that allows me to keep the controller in its original shape.
    I know how you are mostly playing FPS, so I don't know if this info will be useful to you, but here we go. I am using the left thumbstick in PS
    configuration/orientation and I have mounted an attachment on top of existing thumbstick (the highest one that comes as spare part) to slightly more than double stick overall height. In a game that I play the most, eFootball, this allows me to get much finer control over the movement of the players (really small/delicate movement).
    As you have mentioned, BFG has a larger number of zones in comparison to Edge so my guess is that the longer lever allows me to achieve a really fine control over the amount of movement applied. I have tested this in an out and for me it really works.
    This controller really has some potential and I cherish it much more than I have ever cherished my ex Edge or Aim controller. That is why I no longer have them in my possession.
    Unfortunately the controller comes with some flaws and they can be a big minus for some people. Depending on how you like to grab the controller it is possible that sometimes by an accident you might deactivate the depth set for your adaptive triggers. Also controller configurable buttons at the back are too light in my opinion so I keep them disabled to avoid accidental activations. Triggers suffer from the same weakness. Still it is possible to adjust the dead zone for them and kinda avoid this to be an issue, if you can install the bloody app. 😝😝😝
    Despite all its flaws, for what it is, I am still willing to say that I like this controller far more than Edge. It sounds like I hate Edge.
    Not true, I just think how Sony could do much more with their controller.
    What they have right now in my opinion is just a slightly improved DualSense version, kinda like tax for fools that are willing to pay extra
    🤭🤭🤭
    Best regards

      Just tested the mentioned setup in Star Wars Battlefront (another game that I play quite frequently).
      Holly F!!!
      You have to try this and give me your opinion (you can apply the same setup for the right thumbstick too).
      As mentioned in mine case height equal to slightly higher than double from higher exchangeable stick provided by manufacturer works like a charm 😊

      You should try to do just that. It is like having a whole new level of accuracy, I swear I am not making this up. I am also using that extra long thumbstick but on top of it I have mounted an old dual sense thumbstick, top black part that fits onto the potentiometer body. So now I have just a little bit more twice of a thumbstick height from what you have. I don't have very long fingers but still with thumbsticks in PS layout it is comfortable to use the controller. You must try this!
      I have already looked for possible extensions that can be bought online, but nothing at that high is available, so I guess I will have to buy some spare parts online and build one more extension for the right thumbstick. Yesterday I tried an existing extension in Star Wars Battlefront (FPS). It was amazing!
      Anyhow it is up to you.

      Thats interesting coz for some reason I didn't like linear response curve on BFG at all, Dynamic and standard worked really well. I persnally usually play on lnear and I'm able to find suitable sensitivity with every controller on linear, apart from Elite series 2 and BFG. With Series 2 I thought it was the larger deadzone needed to avoid drift that was the issue, but now I'm thinking it might be the lower polling rate. Then again my screen setup is a factor as well coz I play on a cheap portable monitor currently.@@Alt4i_

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey so this is a very interesting question. Let me answer it this way, MW3 just came out and as it’s a new game with a bit of different aim feel, one has to play with their best controller. The first controller I played MW3 on Xbox with was thrustmaster EswapS. Now in my review I mentioned the deal breaking issues that controller has, but when it works the performance is truly amazing. Saying that I stated having issues with the EswapS and I found myself playing with the ROG raikiri, again in my review I mentioned it’s downsides as well and didn’t put right recommend the controller, but it seems to have some really decent performance with reliability.
      If I was looking for a controller with back buttons on Xbox, personally I’d never buy the elite coz of my bad experience, but people seem to really love that controller and you get wireless as well. If wired isn’t an issue, then you need to decide 2 or 4 back buttons. For 2 back buttons I’d say victrix gambit, thrustmaster EswapS the upcoming snakebyte gamepad pro, these are really solid options. If 4 back buttons needed then the only one I can personally recommend in first place would be PowerA fusion pro3 and second place Razer wolverine V2 chroma. Sorry bro I couldn’t give you one controller option as they all have their advantages and disadvantages.

    Hi!
    Just bought the controller. I read about how some people had problems with getting this controller recognized by the controller app on PC.
    I said to myself :"I bet this will happen to me if I ever decide to buy this controller". So guess what? It happened 😁😁😁
    This random shits and issues with Windows are exactly why I have decided to switch to PS5 a while ago. Someone you just want to sit, play and relax instead of spending an hour before that to figure out how to get things to work. I have updated the registry via the link suggested in the help file. Even after that controller is not getting recognized by the app. The main reason I have bought this controller is because the app allows you to set your own custom response and adjust dead zones and I am not able to do that? That sucks 100%
    Can you tell me if there is something I can still do on my computer or if I need to try to install the bloody app on someone else's computer and hope it will work there?
    Man, this controller is hours away from being returned to the sender.
    What a piece of junk !!!
    And miraculously you have forgot to mention this little, but critical thing in your controller review.
    Bravo maestro 👀 👀 👀

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  2 месяца назад

      Hey bro so I tested it on Ps5 only and my laptop was able to recognise the controller with no issues. Have you tried using the dongle and wired connection with the app? Also there is no custom response curve option, only a minimum deadzone option, which can be increased from what seems like a 3% at 0. If you are looking at custom response curve for PS5, then Nacon Rev 5 pro or dual sense edge will be the only ones in my experience.

      Hi there!
      I have to find a way to make the app to work.
      I have tried both wired and dongle connection and both of them do not work. Supposingly there might be something else installed one the comp causing this app not to work. I have Lenovo Legion 5.
      I have read that some people had this issue too. They claim how they weren't able to run the app on their gaming setup, but were able to run it on some shitty, old laptop they had for ages. I mean, who knows, it is the Windows way after all. When it works it works, and when it creates a problem it does it to the max. I bet Bill Gates is the same type of person too. 😁😁😁
      Other than that...
      Main reason I have bought this controller is shitty, little game known as eFootball, made by KONAMI.
      Till now I have tested controller in practice mode, Superstar level and first impressions are that controller feels amazing!!!
      But it is way too early to rush with conclusions because this game is well known for feeling completely different once you start to play against AI in Legend mode (not available during practice, go and figure out the reason why, I mean that is so stupid) or against other players. Difference is so drastic that in Practice mode game feels like completely different game. Still based on my previous experience in Practice mode I can tell that the controller feels smoooooth.
      If you want I can inform you how it feels in other two scenarios once I test it out.
      Ciao, ciao!!!

      @@drq594 hey bro when you say smooth, which other one are you comparing it to? It’s very interesting that you described it as that, coz the controller has ridiculously high resolution of what potentially is 1200 different points from centre to out in one direction. I wonder if in your game you can actually feel this difference coz response wise this is just on or with a standard Xbox series controller.

    • @drq594
      @drq594 2 месяца назад

      Oh yes!
      One more important reason why I have bought this controller...
      I have noticed that players are more responsive when you control their movement direction via d-Pad. Unfortunately this feels a bit clunky for me when it comes to smoothness of overall movement. Then I saw how this controller has that octagonal shaped ring that physically limits thumbstick max movement. That somehow resembles 8-way directional d-Pad behavior and I can say I was right. It also gives you a much better sense of direction when you are trying to pass or shoot the ball. As a thumbstick falls into one of those corners and you are getting a much better idea of direction in which pass/shot will be performed in.

      @drq594 2 месяца назад

      @@thephototechy
      I am comparing it to :
      DualSense, DualSense Edge, Aim "Pro" controller. Avoid the last one at all costs.
      They take regular DualSense, add some stuff to it, like four extra pedals at the back, known as Spider Arms, which are totally useless the way they build them (totally not ergonomic), they also throw in a life long warranty as a sales pitch and sell the bloody thing at cost of €300 and than an idiot like me comes and throws money away buying that thing, whatever it is, but it ain't controller if you ask me. Basically you will be playing with fancy DualSense that you spent €300 on
      😁😁😁
      I have tried DualSense Edge too. Did play with available software settings to try to get something known as "edge" (did you get that?), but nothing helped.
      Basically eFootball is suffering from what I would call a lack of response in a tight situation, it is like your player is getting frozen. Legendary players which you can purchase in game have a bit better responsiveness (smells like a sales pitch to me). It is difficult to explain. The ones who play the game know what I am talking about. With PRO BFG things feel more smooth. For now I only have problems with back buttons that came pre-mapped. To me they feel quite light so I do end up pressing them by mistake from time to time. Would be nice if there is a way to disable them (I still have to check and see if that is possible without the app). Otherwise the placement of these buttons seems to be perfect, definitely not useless like the ones on "Aim" controllers 😜😜😜

    do you prefer this over dual sense edge for games like cod or warzone? Hows the durability of triggers/bumpers and rear buttons? I heard that the edge has issue with the rear buttons/paddles if you play FPS all the time.

    • @thephototechy
      @thephototechy  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey so I have a decent amount of play time on edge and personally I used the half domed back buttons, it’s actually stood the test of time very well in my case. I have more game time on victrix gambit on Xbox then my edge and the only thing was triggers becoming a bit more sensitive and I had to use minimum deadzones like I showed in this video. I know the shortest setting is a quick trigger press but you get false actuations, so using the second stage with minimum deadzones is the best solution I’ve found. I’ll be doing a head to head after I have some time playing MW3, as playing the beta I realised that game will ask more from our controllers, I felt I had to be a bit more aggressive with the sticks and of course back buttons will get used a lot as well.
      To me as it stands without back to back tests, if you don’t need 4 back buttons and you are ok with not very good trigger stops on edge, then edge might be the one. I use edge with bumpers for aim and shoot and I have a feeling they’ll give up on me at some point, when we’ll see. If 4 back buttons a must for you then yes this one is a very decent option as I’ve used the Gambit for atleast over 100 hours with no issues, it I’ve seen others having issues with that controller.
      I’m hoping there’ll be some discounts on the wolverine V2 pro as that one seems like a good option as well, but the price is a bit scary. Still I’m thinking of doing a video comparing all the 4 back buttons options on PS5.

      Yeah man Xbox version is 250 out of box and on pc it can actually be overclocked to 500hz, something very few Xbox controllers can do. I think the 125hz makes a difference as I didn’t like linear response curve at all in COD. I’m going to do some back to back tests to really check if the polling rate is a big disadvantage.

      @@thephototechy yeah it's crazy cuz PS4 controllers are 250 aren't they?

      @@cudderlover1216 yes as standard they are. The Razer wolverine V2 pro is 500hz though, and I think PS5 can support that hence Razer used that. I’m thinking of getting that one for a review, but the price hesitates me.

    Is there still no way to increase the 125hz for the PS5?

      Hey so the third party controllers don’t have a built in mic, I reviewed the Nacon revolution 5 and that comes with a separate mic that can be attached.

    If you could swap between the PS5 and Xbox versions it might be worth but I doubt it but I'm going to save up enough to buy 5 to see if I can

      I know bro, it’s like every PS5 version is way more premium and Xbox is getting a budget version, same with the Nacon revolution pro x, feel nothing like the revolution 5 pro.
      I’m also excited for MWiii, just hoping multiplayer is finished and has no connection issues like the beta.

      Hey so you might be right. I love the Gambit on Xbox, but for some reason on PS5 in mw3 this controller isn’t performing that well when it domes to aiming, atleast that’s how I’m feeling. I don’t know if the lower polling rate is the cause or something else. I’m going to get MW3 on Xbox and check the gambit to see if what’s going on. I really love the feeling of the favorunion modules in the gambit and BFG, the only other controller with similar feel is the thrustmaster EswapS, but that one uses C&K modules and has a bit different response curve. I’m thinking of getting the Razer wolverine V2 pro for my PS5 and see if that one is a better option, the price of that makes it a very difficult decision.
