@@TheAxelandx1 thank god someone commented this I’ve had destiny 2 since launch and all it’s been through it’s life is adding new broken things and reskinning weapons over and over and calling them a new gun literally nothin to incentivize progress
@@blankface4702 I played it since it first launched on battle net, quit after I finished the campaign cos the grind was too much and I was too weak to do PvP.
I installed it again back in 2018 during the Halloween event, still sucked, got a cool vex Goblin mask though (wish bungie would let us turn them into ornaments).
Tried to get back during the debut of Shadowkeep but I couldn't.
I literally got back into the game right at the beginning of Season of the Splicer, a friend of mine who is a D1 and D2 veteran was super excited about the changes and I got back into it, I'm gonna be honest, despite the PvP sucking, everything else feels so much nicer than it did, I'm mostly happy that Shaders are no longer consumables, and now we have the ability to make armor ornaments to always show my accomplishments in this game.
Funny enough, most of the issues Actman mentioned in this video, are no longer an issue in present day. I'd say most people who trash on Destiny 2 are the people who know that Bungie can fix everything, but they don't want to. Destiny 2 is such a unique game and Bungie knows that there is no other game like this one so they have nobody to compete with.

And thats just the books, there also is halo leyends(except odd one out), halo 4 forward onto dawn, halo nightfall, halo 4 terminals,halo 1A and 2A terminals, halo 3 terminals, halo wars 1 time line of succeces until halo 3, halo wars 2 extensive codex and way more lore materials I dont remeber now.

@@TheRealSlimShady509 I disagree, I think the writing team at Bungie has done a pretty good job the past couple of years when it comes to storytelling and it has managed to develop a pretty likable and interesting cast of characters over that time period, but this article was written in 2017, weeks after D2 launched, and almost everyone recognizes Y1 of D2 as like, one of the darkest chapters of the franchise's history because there wasn't enough content, and D2 has been stuck in a continuous cycle of nearly making Destiny a balanced and fun experience, and then Bungie finding a way to screw it up again, so even though Destiny has made major strides since Y1 of D2, it's nowhere _near_ a perfect experience even today. Meanwhile, the MCC is going strong after seven years, Halo 5 is losing player population now but it had a good run despite the botched launch, and Infinite is shaping up to be very promising. Destiny is beginning to course-correct but to be honest, even with Luke Smith kicked upstairs and Bungie trying to improve the overall experience, they're kinda fucked because of engine limitations. They need a Destiny 3, and that's not gonna happen.
Destiny 2 definitely ruined all of the characters from the first game. Most of destiny's memorable characters are the villains because you see them far more often than friendlies.
Cayde 6, that one sweeping bot in the tower, master Ives, Asher Mir or whatever that dude's name is, saloan.
Seriously calling Halo’s character’s dull? I’m pretty sure every single line of dialogue in Halo is memorable. Every single character, even non characters like the grunts you kill, have unique personalities

In all honesty I will forever love Halo but 343 industries completely ruined the game. They changed freaking everything about the game (Elites, guns, basically everything) and ruined it themselves. Aside from that, if they would’ve left everything the same and not changed a single thing than I believe it would’ve had a much better impact.

That pisses me off. That actually disgusts and enrages me.
Halo 3's community saved me from complete depression collapse. Halo 3 had come out the same year I reached middle school, and I stuck hard to Halo 2 and 3 when I learned of the games and joined in. Near the end of middle school my friendships completely collapsed under bullying from someone who was a friend of many of my then-friends who hated me and constantly would harass me every second he saw me until I snapped and threw him against a wall. Same year learned my "best friend" was mocking me behind my back to hang out with the biggest bullies and he straight told me that it was because he couldn't hang out with them if he didn't "make fun of you. You understand, right?" this being the same people I stood up for him a year before. I was damn broken by that. I had shattered and was suicidal those two years when I was ~13-15. People I met on Halo 3 were the ones who glued me back together, playing constant custom games, I still slipped down but it helped a lot and gave me time I needed while another person I met irl became my best friend and lifted me to my feet. It was because of the Halo 3 community I didn't fall apart as badly, it was because there were two absolute bros I met in Halo multiplayer who showed me the wonders of Halo 3 custom games and I found so much joy in those games. So much fun. Halo 2 and 3 will always hold a truly special place in my heart. I wouldn't have died, I didn't want to put that pain on my cousins, my family, or any one I knew it would cause, but Halo 3 saved me from stepping over that ledge into the abyss of hatred and loathing entirely. It gave me something to pull me away from that.

The funniest part is that that statement was already spoiled rotten three years prior to when it was written. Bungie didn't (and still don't) exactly hide the fact that they deliberately make certain options stronger than others in seasonal cycles to try and force an evolving meta. They were never going for balance.

The Halo community (especially from 2008-2013) is probably collectively the most dedicated and creative video game community of all time. Just think of how many youtube channels/short films/skits/montages/unique custom games/events were happening during that span. "The Halo community has always been crap," is one of the worst takes of all time
Even Halo's weakest moments are far better than Destiny's best moments.

That's unfair. Destiny doesn't have best moments. In all honest, Destiny is a cliche game story. I'd compare it to Sector 8: Prejudice and on release it was a 15 dollar game and it had a decent multiplayer mode, their focus was the multiplayer. Their company knew it wasn't worth $60 dollars and it was good. Destiny should of been under $15.

I've never really played destiny, just a few minutes. But my favorite thing in halo is vehicles in multiplayer, and im pretty sure destiny doesn't have that at all.

I mean, there's multiplayer but it's almost impossible to actually coordinate with other people. Most of the time you just get randos who don't even have a mic randomly join your game. And they have the dumb ships that don't mean anything and like some shitty little speeder bike things.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm trash at multiplayer games, I can't get into being a sweaty player that spends hours trying to be the top player, I lose interest really quickly, but from my experience playing both the halo and destiny multiplayer I'll instantly play halo because at least I don't have to spend hours playing through the game farming just so I don't get instant killed, yeah sounds sad but the fact if you just start destiny and don't want to play the story you end up having to because if you go up against someone who's higher lvl you will get destroyed instantly, while in halo you could be brand new and still have a chance at winning, you could say that the lvling can help people get better at playing but not everyone has the time and patience, alot of the time can make people stop playing
I think he needs to make an updated video on this now, I believe Halo is still a clear winner but Destiny 2 has evolved sooooo much and the lore is so phenomenal.

Here we are... 4 years later and I just gotta say that everything Act Man says in this video is STILL dead on. Destiny 2 is NOTHING compared to Halo as a whole, even during it's downs. IMO the only thing that can even compare to anything that Halo has to offer are the neat exotics and the dungeons/raids of the game but that's it. Story? Half of it is gone and the rest are being more paywalls than I can count. Multiplayer? Halo would gladly kick Destiny's ass any day, no contest. Extra modes? Literally just forge from Halo alone beats the extra modes gameplay wise.
Doesn't help that there's so much story being shoved down your throat with Destiny 2 without giving us time to collect what happened plus with the Destiny Content Vault being a thing, it feels like it doesn't matter since it will just go away at some point at the push of a button. Sure Destiny 2 is free-2-play but even after you pay the like 200 to get everything the game has to offer... it still feels like it was a waste of money and time. If people like the looter shooter MMO RPG that is Destiny 2, there's other games out there that did it much better like Borderlands.
I like Destiny 2, don't get me wrong, but it's nothing compared to the other games in the genre's it falls into by a long shot and sadly continues to get worse

The story of the two spartans that survive an assault, on what equates to a gas station in space, is actually really cool. The great thing about halo is how grounded the objectives of the games are in combat. That story sounds like a real history lesson when compared to the things that happened in the world wars. To boot adding in how valuable the spartans are, and how so many died, it is real in how you would question the success of the mission to the loss of basically three hundred spartans. Many battles had questionable decisions, but many of those decisions were a must to secure a victory, or just to keep in the fight. The lore is amazing from what I've seen, and that's not much, but I'm sure it mostly holds to the same level as that.

Halo will always have a special place in my heart. I still remember the day my parents gave me and my brothers an original xbox with Halo Combat Evolved.
I've spent many hours just driving around in a warthog and loving every moment of it.

This whole article was a stupid attempt to hype destiny up. It needs no hype, I purchased destiny way back in 2015 and had a blast playing it, did not even need the taken king to explore the universe, I cannot wait to play destiny 2 in the next few weeks.
Bungie are just amazing developers and they know what makes a game good or intriguing, Halo has amazing lore and a pretty good few stories in that universe but in the end like act said they are separate genres and halo is obviously more iconic. The only thing destiny has on halo is that the devs were able to write just as much lore as halo into the destiny series in 4 years where halo took closer to two decades.

coming back to this after the recent infinite news and having a similar argument with my friend, i just don't see how anyone could be so uninformed about what they're talking about and make claims about the community that make little to no sense.
Completely off topic, and only being brought up because of an example-
But I heard that one of the reasons they stopped after Fable 3 was a lack of direction when it came to where to take the franchise.
Since each game is spaced a century or so apart, the technology and types of civilizations present are quite different.
Continuing on with this trend, what would the setting of Fable 4 be like if it followed the example of its predecessors and skipped ahead a few decades?
They'd have to further modernize the setting, and Fable would lose some of its charm as a result.
Plus, I think the developers went bankrupt. As I haven't heard of any recent projects by Lionhead.
