They have been taking all the great companies we've seen such as Bungie and corrupting them unwillingly with their greed, just as they did with Blizzard when they turned WoW into a blazing pile of shit with low quality expansions and constant additions afterwards. When WOW releases an expansion, it introduces new races/classes to choose from. When Bungie releases a $60 SEQUEL they don't even give us new sub-classes I mean wtf man.
Because people already played this game, PLUS the previous, with the exact same 3 main classes. The sub classes already barely change your play style, but at the very least more of that should have been the minimum for a fully priced sequel. It's not that 9 sub classes are too many, it's that there are STILL only 3 main classes across 5 years of Destiny 1 and 2

Destiny is just a heavily modified version of halo's game engine. Now Destiny 2, its the absolute same thing as destiny 1 with a slightly modified UI and bull shit cash grab
Blizzard is still completely seperate, and has enough corporate power and money to sustain on its own without activision attatched to it, activision has nothing to do with their decisions.

@Old Liquid Overloaded? Meaning it has more content to explore. Destiny ends when the story ends. People say that the end game is where destiny shines but its just a small selection of shit done poorly. Raids for example. They're more of a minigame/puzzle, after someone finds out how to do it and uploads the footage. Everyone copies. To your 'and GUNS!' comment. The guns in destiny all feel simple, there's nothing special about picking up a weapon just because it has a higher number/level attached, there's barely any modding/customising and compaired to Warframes weapons, they're very stale. I won't even go into your part about Destiny having lore to grind....
The other day I went in to GameStop to trade in Destiny 2 and the guy at the counter already knew why. I laughed my ass off when he said, "I already know why dude"
So, two years later, and I am on the verge of quitting Destiny 2, the current season has drained me with the lack of content and what content there is simply sucks, on top of which the next season is supposed to add an update that makes older content weapons useless in new content, and essentially is going "Oh? You don't have Shadowkeep or whatever expansion is out now? Well fuck you because your gear is going to be too weak to do shit." I am sick of this bullshit, and I honestly see this as Bungie having been corrupted by working with Activision for so long. And mind you, by the time of this comment, the game has not only lost Activision's handle on things, but the game has also been F2P for about a year, and this shit is still going on.

@John Chaser While the RNG reduction is nice as well as the raid incentive, it does not change the fact that sunsetting is a lazy attempt to balance the sandbox by pushing old sandbox items from the meta. Not to mention legendary weapons have some of the coolest designs I've seen, many of which will become useless in PVE content due to being older than Forsaken, an issue that I don't see being fixed unless the sunsetting idea gets dropped entirely, simply because transmogging gear is more of a traditional MMO feature and it would take away from the incentive for some players to go and earn those weapons rather than the skin.
As someone who has played since the PS4 D1 alpha. Give up on it man, it's really not worth it anymore. Hell for years I was in denial about Bungie my favorite game studio from the Halo games and was convinced they'd get it right and they still keep doing the same BS over and over again.

Yeah my complaints about the game have to do with the gear system. I mean, I spent countless hours grinding weapon quests like thorn and luna’s just to have bungie “sunset” everything so I can’t use it efficiently anymore. Sure, I got over that after a while, but when beyond light came out any player can just... have it?! Like are you kidding me. What was the point of me playing the game if bungie would just give it to all the new light players who have never played the fckin game before?? You could add the Shivering Isles from ES IV: Oblivion to that list. Matter of fact you could add both dlc's from Oblivion. Both pieces of dlc truly felt like fully fleshed expansions rather then rescrapped bs. The storylines and new environments were pretty great too.
I went from a player who spent over 1500 hours on the first Destiny, to someone who'll be buying Monster Hunter in January with the money that I didn't spend on Destiny 2. Damn shame.

It seems like even 343 is on more of right track than bungie right now. At least 343 was able to admit their fault's recently with MCC (although a bit late), and apologized to the community. Bungie treats theirs as dumb apes. I will say I do have fun playing Destiny on occasion, and the lore to the game is great. Just it won't last, it'll be a game that could've been so much more.

You thought the story was good? I thought it was written by an 8 year old with a space marines and a D&D manual. Stereotypical paladin, mage, rogue, chip on the shoulder exile, crazy detached lower being(robot). The paladin mage and rogue lose their powers and cry like pussies. Main character here to save the day. "We couldnt do it without you" I guess it wasnt terrible but damn, really? Also, the scenes with Ghaul and the speaker? 2 dudes wearing masks, with one monologing and the other speaking in vague phrases? Big twist: The bad guy wants acceptance. Thanks Disney.
The expansions for Destiny 2 are like new rule books like Xanathar's Guide to Everything (but at least that actually adds content and insights for new and old players), expensive and you're not quite sure what to do with it. I do have to admit that the story didn't impress me at all. I watched through it once and was like, "This isn't too bad." BUT! But then I watched it again with more attention to detail and it basically revolves around Ghaul, a character hyped up to be something, trying to redeem himself so that he can be accepted, only to just go back to being bad evil guy without a second thought. There wasn't any tension to it and it was just "Give me secrets," followed by, "The light is sacred and old and hur-de-dur-de-dur." Cayde-6 was used as comic relief because people loved him and was basically the only character with an actual character since the others are bare bones and struggle to really express themselves due to the poor writing and story design.

If they want people to play this game longer and to keep us from fucking dropping it in the first month then they need to let us actually complete challenges for these cosemetics instead of fucking buying them. Well division 1.8 is really good. Got a lot of ppl back playing and it never took really anything from players it actually always gave more and more and at least monthly brings out some new challenges or content and rewards to do. Besides the regular daily and weekly rewards. Oh and warframe is an other really good example of giving players more and more everytime.

Warframe has serious issues though, a lot of people have started to pick up and play it and even suggest it to others. However, being someone who’s played that game for over 1500hours, I would not recommend it, the developers are worst than Bungie I’d say. Only because they have no idea what they’re doing with that game.
Remember in Halo 3 when you had to complete specific achievements to unlock armour? I spent hours upon hours in lone wolves trying to get into specific situations to get those damn armour sets, and it was so worth the effort. I felt proud wearing my ascetic armour on my elite because I felt I had earned it and I wanted to show it off. It is things like that that give longevity to a game. I miss it.
a good cosmetic system was in borderlands 2 for example. You were able to find changes to the looks of each main character (vault hunter) by either just finding them, completing missions or just doing something specific that triggers the unlocking of the cosmetic item... It wasn't built on greed, it was made so people who like cosmetics in games have some extra playtime by unlocking the cosmetics that aren't hidden behind a huge grind or a real money paywall. Or the older halos. You were able to unlock all parts of your armor without paying a single dollar extra, just by playing the game or achieving specific things. Ofc most of these were bound to multiplayer, but it was meant to make the multiplayer more enjoyable and for people to have something extra to collect, instead of making them pay more for stuff in a game that could be in there without a paywall in the first place.
You know all those ghost shells, sparrows and shaders were earned with gameplay in Destiny 1? It really pisses me off how they just sectioned off content that was previously earned through achievement and triumph and are now charging for them in loot boxes. Whatever vision they had for Destiny when they conceived it has been replaced with the eververse store

What end game content there is, is locked behind loot boxes. You can say they are harmless like all the other sheep and that they don't have anything to do with progression. But if the end game is to get all the best gear and look as good as possible, then locking part of it up and trumpeting behind another paywall just isn't fair. My point is that when you take something that was previously earned through gameplay and monetise it for cash, you are harming the experience just to make a couple more bucks it is undeniable if you played the first game that Eververse has affected a part of the game in a negative way. Eververse is Micro transaction gambling bullshit that tries to sells you something that was previously chucked in with the initial asking price as an extra thing to grind. It clearly ruins a part of the endgame that was previously pretty cool and completely free. Its like Halo 5 charging you for armour when it was previously earn able. Let ask you one question, why did bungie put these items in loot boxes when they were previously earned? Ill answer for you: To get more money and fill up the loot boxes with more stuff to lower your chances of getting something you want. It is a fact that bungie have lied to us about the XP gains, they only admitted to it when they were found out.

Shaders in D1 is superior, and even in the end game of D2 everyone still looks to fucking same because 90 percent of the people color all there armor the same damn shader because it fucking matches. Hell its even the same weapons that kill you over and over in crucible because most people use what has the fastest time to kill. Also the "cosmetic enchantments" are in a fucking loot box. Im not sure if you can wrap your mind around it because given your last few arguments it only seems like you can insult people while being a corporate mouth piece, but ill make it simple for you. You press a button, and you roll the dice for a chance at getting the big payout, whether that is the jackpot on a slot machine, or that new exotic ghost shell that should have been in the base game where people can complete a goal and get the item, not grinding for hours to keep rolling the dice to get it. D1 at the very least had a small amount of content locked behind eververse, and the only reason they let you play to get the items is so that people wouldn't have threw the game out the window once they realized that all the stuff was behind another paywall. The Xp gains made a big deal because its another corpation lying to our faces, then backpedalling as fast as they can to make everyone forget, and do stupid shit like defend there game riddled with the same issues as the first year of D1. When a game about the fucking grind you limit the grind then you are hurting the player, they dont want to play more because at a certain point they will put the controller down, stop farming for a lootbox and do something else. People want what they fucking pay for. If people pay money for a game, and they dont like it, they can bitch about it all they want because they bought the fucking game same as everyone else. There is no end game grind other then loot boxes that hold the cosmetics that should be in the base game. If they removed the option to buy the loot boxes in the first place, but had them there, it wouldnt be an issue because they couldnt try and ring 14 year old idiots with daddy's credit card dry. Played destiny since day 1 and the game is…just a mess. 80% of the game is vaulted(basically deleted and may return” the lore got even more confusing with flying pyramids and darkness shit. Even with all these greedy companies, I still played a lot of great games this year. I don’t agree with the notion that gaming is dead or there are only good Indy games.
this comment should adress my biggest pros and cons with this game. Pros: 1. Overall it is a great shooter. graphics, sound, gunplay is the best you can probably find and the only thing that holds the game up. 1.Gunplay and playing with friends is so much fun that it can keep you playing for maybe 10.000 hours plus. 1. English Voice acting for the most part is good. Cons: 1. The biggest and worst flaw of this game: It is pay 2 play, and everyone who tells you otherwise is lying. First i paid 30 bucks (bought it only half a year ago so its cheaper), then bought curse of osiris and warmind for 20, then forsaken for another 20 and then the annual pass for 35. Makes 105 € for the complete game. if i had it bought on release it would be: 60 for base game 20 for warmind another 20 for osiris then idk 30 for forsaken at least and the annual pass for 35 That makes it 165 bucks for complete game. this is an atrocious number and NO GAME in the whole wide world is worth this amount of money. The game is pay2play because with base game you can only reach level 20, with dlcs at least 50 which equals 500 power and only with that and the annual pass you can get to about 650 power. The campaing is pretty bad, both at mission design and story, same goes for warmind. osiris is a bit better. forsaken is the best of the storys but at mission design also not very good. overall the whole game is very monotonous. The Only thing that SAVES THIS GAME is the gunplay and the loot. the gunplay is perfect and feels just great and by playing you constantly get better gear and can make your character stronger. If the game didnt have good gunplay or the grindy loot it would be a complete failure. If i should rank this game i would go for a 6/10 at least, but judging the bad story, monotonous mission design and atrocious money grabbing shit in the game it would be 4/10 at best. ALSO the game didnt really improve on the first game that i played for over 300 hours on ps3 with friends. We still have NO SPACE COMBAT. This is a Sci-Fi game set in the future with big spaceships and traveling across the whole solar system, why no space combat. it is the thing this game needs. WHY SO FEW TANK MISSIONS. In the campain we only had 2 which were really cool and in the multiplayer i had ONCE the random option to use a tank in a strike and never saw something like that again. since destiny 1 i dont have friends left who play destiny 2 so i cant play raids. why no matchmaking for raids. i saw playthroughs and streams of them and the bullshit excuse from bungie saying:" the raids are too hard for random players" is bullshit. so i dont even have the option to play these parts of the game but i payed for it. wow. IF you make a Destiny 3 and i know you will, bungie, then fucking be more creative. you have this whole universe which has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. And you are the ones who made the fucking HALO games. And i swear if Activision makes this pay2play shit again in the next game i will fucking boycott this shit
I would really LOVE to see you revisit this in light of Bungie removing access to PAID content and level locking weapons with the release of Beyond Light.
Outside of forsaken all year one content got made free, but that doesnt diminish the fact people paid for it and didnt really get anything in turn for having done so when said content went free
I remember when Destiny 2 came out on Wednesday and two days later, I had the money to get Destiny 2. So I went to a mall nearby and I went to a retro store that sells retro Games, Records, Comics, Etc. and the store had a copy of Super Castlevania IV that cost around $45 dollars and I was tempted to get it (Cause I have a SNES at home). So I had a choice to get Destiny 2 or Waste my money on a game that came out 26 years ago for the SNES? Good thing I choose the latter and to this day, I’ve never bought Destiny 2!!!

Bungie locking players out of content they had access to before is not news to me. This exact same thing happened in Destiny 1 when TTK came out, but fans just brushed those complaints aside, PURPOSEFULLY playing ignorant and just said "Well you gotta keep up with the expansions coming out!" I remember they locked off the Nightfall, even if it was a vanilla mission. I complained about this in the forums, and people mocked me saying "they shouldn't give year 2 loot to people who didn't buy the expansion." I wasn't asking for year 2 loot, I was asking for the same rewards I had gotten in year 1. But no, people sat there and criticized my legitimate complaints by playing ignorant to the real issues.
True, but now it happened afrer community has been livid and out for blood already, the PC players have not yet felt this "generosity", and in general the fact that they had the stupidity to do it again all came together to produce an explosive effect. Together with general reaction to this update

I did not research in depth (as you have) but do know from experience what inevitibly and inexorably happens when the suits get involved with creative, artistic or innovative companies. Tbh for me destiny 1 was fun (with friends) destiny 2 is just a simple copy and paste with the same content... but they somehow did it so it barely runs on console, it’s extremely repetitive and boring... and all the loot are just reskins
yup I went into D1 with every single dollar I had. they got all of my money......ALL of it. bought the game when it came out. then bought dark below. next was house of wolves. then because you got some other stuff with buying the expansion pass i bought it even tho I already had the 2 dlcs. yes I was crazy...still kinda am but whatevs. then they had a sale of the gold edition or something of the game that gave you the base game and the expansion pass and some other useless shinny shit that I didn't have but wanted so bad because other mutha fuckers had it. yup you heard right I bought everything that I already had just to get a ship and a ghost. all of this was taking place on old gen btw. then the taken king came out and I bought it on old gen and some expansion to the expansion stuff because well why not? the stuff was shinny and cool I couldn't control myself. then rise of iron arrives but wait for me to play rise of iron I had to buy a current gen console. no big deal here you go here's $400 of my dollars. so I buy the base game again for ps4 and what do you know the expansion to the expansion stuff that I bought on old gen doesn't carry over to new gen. at this point I'm starting to smell the shit that's being handed to me. but whatever I buy rise of iron and it's the biggest disappointment out of all the expansions that I've bought. a long time ago destiny was streaming on Twitch the release of some new content for the game and the subject of matchmaking in the raids was brought up to a spokesperson. sorry but I can't remember the name of the individual who responded to the question but let me tell you it was not good....at all. that person responded by saying we are not here to help you make friends. at that point I should have stood up and walked away from the game. basically we needed to go out on our own and find people to do the raids with. which is fine by me but if you are someone looking to make whatever business you have grow and expand why wouldn't you do it? it's simple just have the option to go into the raid with your friends or select matchmaking to find people for you. probably should have left but my girlfriend at the time was playing it and a bunch of mine and her friends were playing it blah blah blah. but I found myself wanting to ask the guy, have you ever played a video game in your life? do you understand how marketing works? if he wanted I could have drawn out a chart of how "helping" one person make a friend could trickle down and lead into other people buying the game just because they are a family member or a friend. and if this is done for thousands of people and they get their friends or family to buy the game and so forth and so on......you know what whatever it doesn't matter. you can lead a donkey to water but you can't make him drink it. HEE-HAW! HEE -HAW!
I bought y1 too, with some expansion passes. After that I could only buy new expansions if i bought the ENTIRE game + previous expansions again. I stopped playing a week into y2 because bungie decided to cut the content I was still progressing into. Couldn't even go into bountie runs anymore, there were lvl x enemies everywhere!
Destiny 2: Curse of Osyris. -20$ "expansion" -reskined enemies -1 and a half hour long story addition. -Several maps -locked content -Additions to mxts -2? Mediocre strikes -weapons (4 were in the og destiny) Starwars battlefront 2: The last jedi/ Resurrection. -FREE "expansion" -reskined enemies -1 and a half hour long story. addition. -1 ground map, 1 space map -2 new vehicles 2 slightly altered vehicles - 2 new hero's -no addition to mtxs (for now) -new daily/weekly challanges
I got the expansion because my friends - who I had enjoyed playing the base game with, have got it, even though it came out only 1 month after the release of the base game on PC, which pissed me off immensely. The campaign of the expansion takes about 60 minutes to complete, and contains a mission which is almost identical to a strike - which in turn was ripped straight from the campaign. Almost all the other missions take place in existing areas with little to no modification, and the missions which don't are all extremely bland and repetitive. The strikes added with the expansion are carbon copies of the campaign missions, with the story of one literally being: "the Vex have undone everything you did in the mission, so do it again". The new space the smallest by far, and only has a single public event, and potentially its best feature: the "Infinite Forest" can't even be accessed unless as part of a mission. I'm very disappointed and seriously thinking of refunding my purchase on both the expansion and the game.
There are pretty strong consumer laws where I live, and since they made some things from the base game only playable with the expansion I could easily get a refund for false advertising.

This rings even truer nowadays as these new "seasons" take away the old content and replace it with shitty new stuff. And the new content now is also very miniscule because now bungie has not enough manpower to support this type of game. And now destinys microtransactions have become worse as now only bright engrams come from the season pass instead of leveling, so new cosmetics are a rarity. Destiny has shat the bed and it shows
No amount of money is ever enough for these greedy SOB's. These are the type of people that would rob their own grandmother for an extra 5 cents, and they will gladly run a company into the ground to make an extra $5 this quarter so they can get their golden parachute and make it the next guy's problem. Oh, and BC didn't add 20 levels to WOW - it added 10. All of the expansions added 10 except for Cata and MOP which added 5.
I wanted to so badly love this game. I had enjoyed the first destiny, even without the dlc, so I was really excited for destiny 2. When I finally got it, I was blinded by fan boyism. After a while, I finally gave into the fact that this was not a good game
Three years now from that video, and even though I started playing Destiny 2 since mid November, I find it very entertaining.. If I understand correctly, both the curse of Osiris and the Warmind DLCs are now free as well as the game. Forsaken and Shadowkeep are still monetized, but oh well... But I don't know.. I played like 300 hrs so far, and the game still manages to give me that joy I want.

Length and repetition aside, my number 1 complaint is they toted Osiris as this grand warrior, but the entire DLC just has him as some useless, narrative, background character and only shows up at the end for 15 seconds and leaves. They made it seem like you would fight alongside him, but nope. Also, what is the whole "curse" part about him?
Just to be clear, I was wrong about Destiny 2 signaling the return of Bungie's glory days. I was wrong about many other things and I want to clear them up.

People say that the end game is where destiny shines but its just a small selection of shit done poorly. Raids for example. They're more of a minigame/puzzle, after someone finds out how to do it and uploads the footage. Everyone copies.
To your 'and GUNS!' comment. The guns in destiny all feel simple, there's nothing special about picking up a weapon just because it has a higher number/level attached, there's barely any modding/customising and compaired to Warframes weapons, they're very stale.

So, two years later, and I am on the verge of quitting Destiny 2, the current season has drained me with the lack of content and what content there is simply sucks, on top of which the next season is supposed to add an update that makes older content weapons useless in new content, and essentially is going "Oh? You don't have Shadowkeep or whatever expansion is out now? Well fuck you because your gear is going to be too weak to do shit." I am sick of this bullshit, and I honestly see this as Bungie having been corrupted by working with Activision for so long. And mind you, by the time of this comment, the game has not only lost Activision's handle on things, but the game has also been F2P for about a year, and this shit is still going on.

@John Chaser While the RNG reduction is nice as well as the raid incentive, it does not change the fact that sunsetting is a lazy attempt to balance the sandbox by pushing old sandbox items from the meta. Not to mention legendary weapons have some of the coolest designs I've seen, many of which will become useless in PVE content due to being older than Forsaken, an issue that I don't see being fixed unless the sunsetting idea gets dropped entirely, simply because transmogging gear is more of a traditional MMO feature and it would take away from the incentive for some players to go and earn those weapons rather than the skin.
As someone who has played since the PS4 D1 alpha. Give up on it man, it's really not worth it anymore. Hell for years I was in denial about Bungie my favorite game studio from the Halo games and was convinced they'd get it right and they still keep doing the same BS over and over again.

Yeah my complaints about the game have to do with the gear system. I mean, I spent countless hours grinding weapon quests like thorn and luna’s just to have bungie “sunset” everything so I can’t use it efficiently anymore. You could add the Shivering Isles from ES IV: Oblivion to that list. Matter of fact you could add both dlc's from Oblivion. Both pieces of dlc truly felt like fully fleshed expansions rather then rescrapped bs. The storylines and new environments were pretty great too.

It seems like even 343 is on more of right track than bungie right now. At least 343 was able to admit their fault's recently with MCC (although a bit late), and apologized to the community. Bungie treats theirs as dumb apes. I will say I do have fun playing Destiny on occasion, and the lore to the game is great. Just it won't last, it'll be a game that could've been so much more.

The expansions for Destiny 2 are like new rule books like Xanathar's Guide to Everything (but at least that actually adds content and insights for new and old players), expensive and you're not quite sure what to do with it.
I do have to admit that the story didn't impress me at all. I watched through it once and was like, "This isn't too bad." BUT! But then I watched it again with more attention to detail and it basically revolves around Ghaul, a character hyped up to be something, trying to redeem himself so that he can be accepted, only to just go back to being bad evil guy without a second thought. There wasn't any tension to it and it was just "Give me secrets," followed by, "The light is sacred and old and hur-de-dur-de-dur." Cayde-6 was used as comic relief because people loved him and was basically the only character with an actual character since the others are bare bones and struggle to really express themselves due to the poor writing and story design.

Well division 1.8 is really good. Got a lot of ppl back playing and it never took really anything from players it actually always gave more and more and at least monthly brings out some new challenges or content and rewards to do. Besides the regular daily and weekly rewards. Oh and warframe is an other really good example of giving players more and more everytime.

Warframe has serious issues though, a lot of people have started to pick up and play it and even suggest it to others. However, being someone who’s played that game for over 1500hours, I would not recommend it, the developers are worst than Bungie I’d say. Only because they have no idea what they’re doing with that game.
Remember in Halo 3 when you had to complete specific achievements to unlock armour? I spent hours upon hours in lone wolves trying to get into specific situations to get those damn armour sets, and it was so worth the effort. I felt proud wearing my ascetic armour on my elite because I felt I had earned it and I wanted to show it off. It is things like that that give longevity to a game. I miss it.

You were able to find changes to the looks of each main character (vault hunter) by either just finding them, completing missions or just doing something specific that triggers the unlocking of the cosmetic item... It wasn't built on greed, it was made so people who like cosmetics in games have some extra playtime by unlocking the cosmetics that aren't hidden behind a huge grind or a real money paywall.
Or the older halos. You were able to unlock all parts of your armor without paying a single dollar extra, just by playing the game or achieving specific things. Ofc most of these were bound to multiplayer, but it was meant to make the multiplayer more enjoyable and for people to have something extra to collect, instead of making them pay more for stuff in a game that could be in there without a paywall in the first place.

But if the end game is to get all the best gear and look as good as possible, then locking part of it up and trumpeting behind another paywall just isn't fair. Micro transactions should never be in a premium experience where you pay up front, Especially when you are also charging for expansions like in Destiny's case.
In Destiny 2 its all sectioned off into lootboxes, no more Faction ghost shells, unlimited shaders or cool looking sparrows you have to grind a RNG loot box and get lucky which can take hours to get one box or simply pay for more. Its all apart of the experience cosmetics or not it still affects you especially when Destiny is a game about showing off your achievements in the form of cosmetics (Much like what shadow said). The taken ghost shell? That meant you killed oryx and looked pretty fucking cool if you had it. War Cult sparrow? You were devoted to them and it showed your allegiance. People wanted to collect every shader in Destiny because then you have variety, earning themed shaders for specific activities, now? Get lucky, grind for hours or pay up.
My point is that when you take something that was previously earned through gameplay and monetise it for cash, you are harming the experience just to make a couple more bucks it is undeniable if you played the first game that Eververse has affected a part of the game in a negative way. Eververse is Micro transaction gambling bullshit that tries to sells you something that was previously chucked in with the initial asking price as an extra thing to grind. It clearly ruins a part of the endgame that was previously pretty cool and completely free. Its like Halo 5 charging you for armour when it was previously earn able.
Let ask you one question, why did bungie put these items in loot boxes when they were previously earned?
Ill answer for you: To get more money and fill up the loot boxes with more stuff to lower your chances of getting something you want.

As for the lore, a good portion of people care about the world they play in, especially if its an MMO game that people like you play for hours on end with less content then the number of brain cells you posses.
Shaders in D1 is superior, and even in the end game of D2 everyone still looks to fucking same because 90 percent of the people color all there armor the same damn shader because it fucking matches. Hell its even the same weapons that kill you over and over in crucible because most people use what has the fastest time to kill.
Also the "cosmetic enchantments" are in a fucking loot box. Im not sure if you can wrap your mind around it because given your last few arguments it only seems like you can insult people while being a corporate mouth piece, but ill make it simple for you. You press a button, and you roll the dice for a chance at getting the big payout, whether that is the jackpot on a slot machine, or that new exotic ghost shell that should have been in the base game where people can complete a goal and get the item, not grinding for hours to keep rolling the dice to get it. D1 at the very least had a small amount of content locked behind eververse, and the only reason they let you play to get the items is so that people wouldn't have threw the game out the window once they realized that all the stuff was behind another paywall.
The Xp gains made a big deal because its another corpation lying to our faces, then backpedalling as fast as they can to make everyone forget, and do stupid shit like defend there game riddled with the same issues as the first year of D1. When a game about the fucking grind you limit the grind then you are hurting the player, they dont want to play more because at a certain point they will put the controller down, stop farming for a lootbox and do something else.
People want what they fucking pay for. If people pay money for a game, and they dont like it, they can bitch about it all they want because they bought the fucking game same as everyone else. There is no end game grind other then loot boxes that hold the cosmetics that should be in the base game. If they removed the option to buy the loot boxes in the first place, but had them there, it wouldnt be an issue because they couldnt try and ring 14 year old idiots with daddy's credit card dry.

People still don’t understand what’s happening... these are companies... with investors that have no idea what a game is. Devs are only good when they’re young and not bound by money. The only way to fix this is something that no one is willing to do.

this comment should adress my biggest pros and cons with this game.
Pros:
1. Overall it is a great shooter. graphics, sound, gunplay is the best you can probably find and the only thing that holds the game up.
1.Gunplay and playing with friends is so much fun that it can keep you playing for maybe 10.000 hours plus.
1. English Voice acting for the most part is good.
Cons:
1. The biggest and worst flaw of this game: It is pay 2 play, and everyone who tells you otherwise is lying. First i paid 30 bucks (bought it only half a year ago so its cheaper), then bought curse of osiris and warmind for 20, then forsaken for another 20 and then the annual pass for 35. Makes 105 € for the complete game. if i had it bought on release it would be:
60 for base game
20 for warmind
another 20 for osiris
then idk 30 for forsaken at least
and the annual pass for 35
That makes it 165 bucks for complete game. this is an atrocious number and NO GAME in the whole wide world is worth this amount of money.
The game is pay2play because with base game you can only reach level 20, with dlcs at least 50 which equals 500 power and only with that and the annual pass you can get to about 650 power.
The campaing is pretty bad, both at mission design and story, same goes for warmind. osiris is a bit better. forsaken is the best of the storys but at mission design also not very good. overall the whole game is very monotonous.
The Only thing that SAVES THIS GAME is the gunplay and the loot. the gunplay is perfect and feels just great and by playing you constantly get better gear and can make your character stronger. If the game didnt have good gunplay or the grindy loot it would be a complete failure.
If i should rank this game i would go for a 6/10 at least, but judging the bad story, monotonous mission design and atrocious money grabbing shit in the game it would be 4/10 at best. ALSO the game didnt really improve on the first game that i played for over 300 hours on ps3 with friends.
We still have NO SPACE COMBAT. This is a Sci-Fi game set in the future with big spaceships and traveling across the whole solar system, why no space combat. it is the thing this game needs. WHY SO FEW TANK MISSIONS. In the campain we only had 2 which were really cool and in the multiplayer i had ONCE the random option to use a tank in a strike and never saw something like that again. since destiny 1 i dont have friends left who play destiny 2 so i cant play raids. why no matchmaking for raids. i saw playthroughs and streams of them and the bullshit excuse from bungie saying:" the raids are too hard for random players" is bullshit. so i dont even have the option to play these parts of the game but i payed for it. wow.
IF you make a Destiny 3 and i know you will, bungie, then fucking be more creative. you have this whole universe which has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. And you are the ones who made the fucking HALO games.
And i swear if Activision makes this pay2play shit again in the next game i will fucking boycott this shit

I would really LOVE to see you revisit this in light of Bungie removing access to PAID content and level locking weapons with the release of Beyond Light.
Outside of forsaken all year one content got made free, but that doesnt diminish the fact people paid for it and didnt really get anything in turn for having done so when said content went free
I remember when Destiny 2 came out on Wednesday and two days later, I had the money to get Destiny 2. So I went to a mall nearby and I went to a retro store that sells retro Games, Records, Comics, Etc. and the store had a copy of Super Castlevania IV that cost around $45 dollars and I was tempted to get it (Cause I have a SNES at home). So I had a choice to get Destiny 2 or Waste my money on a game that came out 26 years ago for the SNES?
Good thing I choose the latter and to this day, I’ve never bought Destiny 2!!!

Bungie locking players out of content they had access to before is not news to me. This exact same thing happened in Destiny 1 when TTK came out, but fans just brushed those complaints aside, PURPOSEFULLY playing ignorant and just said "Well you gotta keep up with the expansions coming out!"
I remember they locked off the Nightfall, even if it was a vanilla mission. I complained about this in the forums, and people mocked me saying "they shouldn't give year 2 loot to people who didn't buy the expansion." I wasn't asking for year 2 loot, I was asking for the same rewards I had gotten in year 1. But no, people sat there and criticized my legitimate complaints by playing ignorant to the real issues.
True, but now it happened afrer community has been livid and out for blood already, the PC players have not yet felt this "generosity", and in general the fact that they had the stupidity to do it again all came together to produce an explosive effect. Together with general reaction to this update

The raids with buddies were its peak but eventually the game got stale as hell.

Tbh for me destiny 1 was fun (with friends) destiny 2 is just a simple copy and paste with the same content... but they somehow did it so it barely runs on console, it’s extremely repetitive and boring... and all the loot are just reskins
yup I went into D1 with every single dollar I had. they got all of my money......ALL of it. bought the game when it came out. then bought dark below. next was house of wolves. then because you got some other stuff with buying the expansion pass i bought it even tho I already had the 2 dlcs. yes I was crazy...still kinda am but whatevs. then they had a sale of the gold edition or something of the game that gave you the base game and the expansion pass and some other useless shinny shit that I didn't have but wanted so bad because other mutha fuckers had it. yup you heard right I bought everything that I already had just to get a ship and a ghost. all of this was taking place on old gen btw. then the taken king came out and I bought it on old gen and some expansion to the expansion stuff because well why not? the stuff was shinny and cool I couldn't control myself. then rise of iron arrives but wait for me to play rise of iron I had to buy a current gen console. no big deal here you go here's $400 of my dollars. so I buy the base game again for ps4 and what do you know the expansion to the expansion stuff that I bought on old gen doesn't carry over to new gen. at this point I'm starting to smell the shit that's being handed to me. but whatever I buy rise of iron and it's the biggest disappointment out of all the expansions that I've bought. a long time ago destiny was streaming on Twitch the release of some new content for the game and the subject of matchmaking in the raids was brought up to a spokesperson. sorry but I can't remember the name of the individual who responded to the question but let me tell you it was not good....at all. that person responded by saying we are not here to help you make friends. at that point I should have stood up and walked away from the game. basically we needed to go out on our own and find people to do the raids with. which is fine by me but if you are someone looking to make whatever business you have grow and expand why wouldn't you do it? it's simple just have the option to go into the raid with your friends or select matchmaking to find people for you. probably should have left but my girlfriend at the time was playing it and a bunch of mine and her friends were playing it blah blah blah. but I found myself wanting to ask the guy, have you ever played a video game in your life? do you understand how marketing works? if he wanted I could have drawn out a chart of how "helping" one person make a friend could trickle down and lead into other people buying the game just because they are a family member or a friend. and if this is done for thousands of people and they get their friends or family to buy the game and so forth and so on......you know what whatever it doesn't matter. you can lead a donkey to water but you can't make him drink it. HEE-HAW! HEE -HAW!

I stopped playing a week into y2 because bungie decided to cut the content I was still progressing into.
Couldn't even go into bountie runs anymore, there were lvl x enemies everywhere!

The ODST theme gets me every time. I remember how awesome it was when it played in Reach as you rescued Buck.
I got the expansion because my friends - who I had enjoyed playing the base game with, have got it, even though it came out only 1 month after the release of the base game on PC, which pissed me off immensely.
The campaign of the expansion takes about 60 minutes to complete, and contains a mission which is almost identical to a strike - which in turn was ripped straight from the campaign. Almost all the other missions take place in existing areas with little to no modification, and the missions which don't are all extremely bland and repetitive.
The strikes added with the expansion are carbon copies of the campaign missions, with the story of one literally being: "the Vex have undone everything you did in the mission, so do it again". The new space the smallest by far, and only has a single public event, and potentially its best feature: the "Infinite Forest" can't even be accessed unless as part of a mission.
I'm very disappointed and seriously thinking of refunding my purchase on both the expansion and the game.

There are pretty strong consumer laws where I live, and since they made some things from the base game only playable with the expansion I could easily get a refund for false advertising.

And the new content now is also very miniscule because now bungie has not enough manpower to support this type of game. And now destinys microtransactions have become worse as now only bright engrams come from the season pass instead of leveling, so new cosmetics are a rarity. Destiny has shat the bed and it shows

These are the type of people that would rob their own grandmother for an extra 5 cents, and they will gladly run a company into the ground to make an extra $5 this quarter so they can get their golden parachute and make it the next guy's problem. Oh, and BC didn't add 20 levels to WOW - it added 10. All of the expansions added 10 except for Cata and MOP which added 5.

I wanted to so badly love this game. I had enjoyed the first destiny, even without the dlc, so I was really excited for destiny 2. When I finally got it, I was blinded by fan boyism. After a while, I finally gave into the fact that this was not a good game
Three years now from that video, and even though I started playing Destiny 2 since mid November, I find it very entertaining.. If I understand correctly, both the curse of Osiris and the Warmind DLCs are now free as well as the game. Forsaken and Shadowkeep are still monetized, but oh well...
But I don't know.. I played like 300 hrs so far, and the game still manages to give me that joy I want.
it is fun but bungei still isn't fully prepared to support the endgame but it does have a lot of content for players who joined recently.

Length and repetition aside, my number 1 complaint is they toted Osiris as this grand warrior, but the entire DLC just has him as some useless, narrative, background character and only shows up at the end for 15 seconds and leaves. They made it seem like you would fight alongside him, but nope. Also, what is the whole "curse" part about him?
