    If you run the stock plastic 12th scale wltoys spur gear with a 19 tooth pinion you'll get much faster speeds in a smoother drivetrain. I did this and I have much improved the fundability of the car

    9:15 this parts is now made of plastic. This used to be metal. Just like the solid top plastic arm of the steering buckles. They started to introduce more plastic and less adjustability.
    The servo arm also has changed position and is now facing forward.

    • @hofsplace
      @hofsplace  10 месяцев назад

      Indeed. I prefer adjustability. But the composite materials for the arms and chassis, i prefer those

    I have the WLToys 124017 V2 and started upgrading a few vulnerable parts to metal, fix the shockdampers and adjust the battery compartment a bit to fit a 3S battery.
    Also I wanted to add 2 cool bumpers from LC Racing that fit some WLToys models. (front and back)
    Also I changed out the CVD's which I already did a couple of times.
    I dont like the quality of the CVD's the threading on the end is horrible to me it's easy to break so I had nuts, wheels hexes and pins falling off a couple of times.
    So I decided to either fix it or give up on it and use it for parts or sell as fix-her-upper :P
    Now I'm thinking of this model as a replacement, since the overal quality seems much more beefy and better.
    Also it looks damn cheap compared to other WLToys 12th scale buggies, but I cant really figure out why that is, other then the lower specs of the motor and ESC and the fact that the new parts seem less available compared to the older buggies.
    But what I'm wondering is: I now have alot of spares from the 124017, also I have some LC Racing upgrades like the bumpers, sway bars and custom body posts, but is it all compatible with this model? will it fit?
    I dont want to just buy it and be dissapointed again :P
    Could you please help me out on this?
    Thanks alot mate

    • @hofsplace
      @hofsplace  Год назад +2

      Though choice, haha. Regarding this matter, I do like the overall build quality more with the new one. However, i don't like the battery system. If i needed to buy one now, i would buy the new one. The arms and diffs are identical. The rest is new.

      Thanks for responding again. Yes, I bought the original part. it fits perfectly. When I test how the buggy is still disassembled, when accelerating the car the engine rises a little in the fittings and the rack also moves a little, but supposedly after fitting the fitting cover it should no longer do this because everything is tight. I've already disassembled it several times, I've tried everything and it still makes the same noise😡😡
