Actually, Tuco had a rope around his neck several times during the movie. Remember the sequence where Blondie would turn Tuco in for the reward, and then shoot Tuco's rope at the hanging, and they would split the reward later? Tuco also had Blondie with a rope around his neck at one point. And poor Shorty got hung, though he probably deserved it. The hangman's rope was a common prop in this movie. BTW, if you have not seen it, make plans for a movie night and watch it. The cinematography is fantastic, the music is beautiful, the story is all kinds of things, it is certainly one of the best movies ever made. You are not doing yourself any favors by missing out. It is a work of art.

    Ok, a few things...
    1. The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly is a *GREAT* movie. Watch it. The soundtrack was composed by Ennio Morricone who just recently died. He was THE MAN.
    2. Metallica has a cover of The Ecstasy of Gold, which was the second part of the song that you said put you to sleep and woke you back up. Check it out.
    3. Nas and Immortal Technique have both samples The Ecstasy of Gold. Check out Nas’ “One Mic” and IT’s “Land of the Gun.” Both of those tunes will make you want to walk through walls.
    Brilliant reaction, my guy.

"Wait: is that a man hanging there?"
    Yes, it is.
Explanation: see the film - I don't wanna spoil it for you! (you've probably seen it by now, so an explanation would be moot)
As a Generation X-er, it's nice to see that some of you kids these days, not only appreciate a great film, but also a great composer.
Ennio Morricone, sadly, passed away this past July, but one of the last westerns he did music for, was "The Hateful Eight".
His music makes many a film.

I love his film score for all of them, especially Cheyanne's theme played by Jason Robards in the film Once Upon a Time in the West.... This is the theme to my FAVORITE Clint Eastwood spaghetti western by Italian director, Sergio Leoni. I first saw the movie over 50 years ago and I'm compelled to watch it each time it comes on TV. The music is a masterpiece: haunting, intoxicating and seductive, and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra did an AMAZING job with this modern classic. You should really check out the movie of the same title. The hanging is a reference to a scam run by Eastwood (the Good) and the late great Eli Wallach (the Ugly), complicated by Lee Van Cleef (the Bad).

Everybody else just found this! You were a pioneer because you found this months ago! I think I've just watched it half a dozen times, and I've just now noticed that the soprano lady at the end just popped up out of the audience and started singing. She wasn't sitting with the choir or anything. That's just badass. Do you think the people sitting around her knew ahead of time? Or do you think they were shocked when she just stood up and started singing?

If you like this, you will probably like the Moody Blues/Nights In White Satin album version from the album Days Of Future Passed 1967. One of the first concept albums and the first to mix classical with pop music. Must Hear! So far ahead of it's time that it didn't get released in the USA until 1972 where the album hit #1 and the single version of Nights In White Satin hit #2 for three weeks straight. The album version is the best as the single version is stripped down.

Hanging Guy is Mr. Ugly from the movie, you see, Mr. Ugly and Mr. Good had a deal in the movie, Mr. Good captures Mr. Ugly(who is a wanted criminal) and gives him to the authorities and collects the reward. Then right when they're about to hang Mr. Ugly, Mr. Good shows up sets him free, then Mr. Good and Mr. Ugly share the reward. They repeat this over and over until one day things are fucked up......just watch the movie man.

Soundtracks for the Clint Eastwood movie, THE GOOD, THE BAD, AND THE UGLY, A CIVIL WAR WESTERN. The hanging man is in the final iconic scene of the movie. I could not find it on Netflicks, but it is on Prime Video, Prime Video for free. Worth watching if you have never seen it, or even if you have.
Hanging in the old west was the most common method of execution for any crime punishable by death. And there were lynchings mostly in isolated areas for horse thieves and cattle rustlers. These had nothing to do with the racial lynchings, these were a form of frontier justice in a lawless land.

  • @LaptopLarry330
    @LaptopLarry330 3 года назад +1

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra incorporated artwork from the movie poster for the film. In the "Wild West", and in "Old Mexico", there was a lot of lawlessness and anarchy. Lynchings, regardless of race, were fairly common at that time in the 19th Century.

In the movie, Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach had a scam going. Clint (Blondie) would turn in Eli (Tuco) for the reward money and then rescue him from hanging. Then they'd quickly ride to the next town and repeat the process.

Old America history, especially of the old/wild west, didn't have life sentences and people didn't have high life expectancies so why bother put someone in jail for 10-20 years, they'll probably die anyways, just hang em, is what I assume the thought process was. Which I think is an easy assumption if all things are factored into it, such as dead or alive bounties.

This is from the movie The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.. at a point in the movie Clint Eastwood and Eli Wallach had a scam going where Clint would bring Eli into a Sheriff to collect a bounty. When they brought Eli out to hang him, Clint would shoot the rope, Eli would fall onto the horse, and they would escape.. that is why they had the hanging prop.. if you look, you will see Clint Eastwood in his western dress from the movie in this video too..

The guy hanging is basically just a thematic element in keeping with the plot of the movie that the soundtrack is taken from. Here's another interesting thematic element you might not have noticed: the lady who does the whistling and the "wah WAH wah" vocalization has little six-shooter pistol earrings. lol.

The "suspended" figure represents the silhouette of "The man with no name." The main antagonist of the three films starring Clint Eastwood. He's not hanging with a noose. Rather the silhouette is an homage to the films orchestrated by the great Ennio Morricone.

First, there was A Fistful of Dollars (1964),
then, the sequel, For A Few Dollars More (1965),
and then, the second sequel, The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (1966).
These movies were violent and they had great music. The hanging man just ties in with the violence theme. I remember hearing this on the radio, when I was young. Good Choice of music.

the music is a movie soundtrack for the movie "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly" Starring Clint Eastwood. Thus, you see the hanging man and the Iconic image of Clint in the back. You may wanna react to that movie. it's not only top 3 westerns ever, but one of the greatest movies ever. I'd also recommend Outlaw Josey Wales, Clint's directing debut and to me at least the greatest western ever.
