Man o Man the guests , stories & quality of this podcast just get better & better. Definitely the best military oriented podcast on youtube! The quick fire questions, topics of conversation and the way you have it set up and deep dive into your guests background stories keep it super entertaining, educational, respectful & bring out the best response/stories. Thank you for your service, the work you do with the dogs coming home from war & just being an all American Badass!

A year late, but no doubt you make a good point! It was like listening to a convo between two buddies that have known each other for quite sometime. Mike Ritland is so mild mannered, and I think it really helps interview wise.
Another excellent podcast. It's takes huge brass balls to come out and tell the story Sean did. I wish him the best in his journey through life. I will be purchasing a few copies of this book, for sure. Semper Fi!

Incredible story of resilience! I was glued the entire time. Mike sure knows how to relate to his guests! The intros are the best. They connect the listeners to the guests immediately.
I was an officer in the Army for nearly 10 years. I still do not understand why the only humane, sensitive, honest people I have met are militaries. You do not find that kind of individuals in civilian life : except maybe in law enforcement, health care, firemen. We need a conscription. We need a way to teach people what it means to be responsible for others... what it really means to be a citizen.
There are a few of us, but I am from a family with MIL relatives and most of my friends growing up were either from MIL or LE families. It took me many years before I finally joined LE in a non-enforcement capacity (search and rescue) . But I agree, there does seem to be less personal responsibility and integrity displayed in most people I come in contact with as well. Given the nature of the moral decline in this nation, I'm not surprised.
This stirs up a ton of thoughts. Great discussion. The controlling your emotions part hits home with me. This is definitely not the standard tough guy discussion.
Another great podcast! Sean like many others has a story to tell about life and what it deals people. What's important is he turned it into a life of giving back and empowering people to take adversity and turn it into a win.
Hello Mike, I am a big fan of your podcasts. I am listening all the way from Brasil, of all places. I am an American, living here and I want to thank you and your guests for all your service to this country and THE WORLD for that matter. If we can live free in today's world it is in great part for the actions of great Americans like you and your guests. Just wanted to point out that your expression when Sean said he never had real barbecue was priceless. I laughed out loud here at the office.
No offense to Andy but this interview is so much better than the cleared hot one... I had no idea he was married young and cheated on them became an actor. I love both podcasts but if I had to choose I would prefer to listen to the more structured version of someone’s life, going thru it chronologically from start to finish.
Outstanding interview! “PTSD, Time to Heal” also emphasizes writing by hand; it activates a part of the brain that’s logically driven which dampens the emotion of the memory, making it easier to process. Let it sit a month and only then share it if you want. Verbalizing can retraumatize. Going back to it also allows for anything addition that might come up or anything that was misremembered to fall away.
So glad I accidentally hit this video ive been subbed for a long time and haven't related to a guest more watched it all the way threw. Thanks Mike and buck Buck keep it up buddy your words sound exactly what I tell people to do to better them selfs so its great to actually see another man who cares that much about strangers to go out of your way to help God bless you
Sweet! I watch Sean's vlog, I find it entertaining and eye opening. This interview just deepened my respect for him to a whole new level. He's not just a military rock star, he's a human that already had a lifetime of deep crap happen to him. I've been to his hometown many times, the whole Antelope valley is pretty much the meth capitol of the world. So for anyone that can climb out of there, my deepest RESPECT.
Really cool to watch you guys talk through a lot of problems that are relevant to most of us (childhood, not military), and showing that hard work and a good mindset can get you through it. Great episode and I do plan on reading the book.
This is what I try and do. I do not try and control my anger per say but I do always try and improve discipline. So when I get heated, I try and intensify that emotion I am feeling mentally and sometimes I may even make a little noise but I intensify it until I cannot do it anymore and I see the foley of it and try and learn why I am feeling this. And then I do my best to release it. And hopefully next time it doesn’t make me so unbalanced. It’s hard to explain. But it has helped me and maybe it can help someone else. I think that the main thing is recognize the issue and also realize that many times there isn’t a right way. And there may be many ways to get that box checked. I have also tried to keep my world small. Not escapism but trying not judge myself. Or anyone else which seems to always get the negative flowing for me. For example, worrying about which people are trying to ruin the planet or who is deceiving knowingly in order to control or to get mfers to knowingly give away their freedoms etc. I zoom in on my life. And my family thank god. Anyways. Yeah we need less filter. Thanks I appreciate it. Rant out.
Buck’s perspective of the Police is really interesting. I’m glad I listened to this podcast, I wish his information was more commonplace-perhaps the world would be a better place. Make that into a book and spread it around maybe the news would care maybe not but it’s good to know!
Buck @26:30 I’m sorry brother had a dad in the same situation to Long To type . I remember riding home on the bus as a kid and hearing people talk about homework 📚 and I was worried about finding my dad dead everyday. I used to come home to him facedown and I’d have to pull needles out of his arms and bandage him up . Makes us men hard men !!💪😎

We shared a similar childhood unfortunately, I buried that shit so deep I can barely recall. Last time I revisited it, I found one of my moms old boyfriends and put him in the hospital.
