Money topic awesome. Grew up poor. I own a business now. I stress about money way too frequently so my wife tells me. Probably a good idea to have a set number on where you'll quit stressing about money. 100,000 sounds good for now and 50,000 worth of play money before we actually start playing with it. Every time you take money out of play money it has to be put back in before you can play again. Good plan love you guys for this one!!!
The tenacity is the key. Never give up. It took me17 years to get to BAC but I earned my Parachutist Badge at 48!I was the oldest guy by 6 years. B Co 1/507th. Thanks for sharing the motivation.
This conversation chemistry between Andy & Sean “Buck” Rogers is exactly the type of conversation chemistry that Ryan Fugit: host of Combat Story & John “Shrek” McPhee (Sheriff Of Baghdad) have and honestly each one is unique in their own way but most definitely enjoy.. great work!
The 1:04:00 mark. Buck suffers from the same issue I have. I also grew up dirt poor, and it’s only been over the past 3 years where I now make more money than 95% of the U.S. population, but I feel like it’s never enough and I have a negative physical reaction to spending it unless I have to on essential items.
You are both amazing and wonderful people. Hateful comments come from those who envy the many accomplishments you each have achieved. So many of us appreciate your brave service to our country and your continued service to all of us in so many ways - especially Wine and Rations: the ultimate, hilarious culinary way to spend a Sunday evening!!
"I don't hypnotize people before they come on" Sean: " oh I know" Sounds like something that someone who was hypnotized would say lol. Great podcast, Sean Rogers is a great inspiration.
First off, I just want to say thank you guys for making that first podcast, there was so much value in both of your words. Secondly, I just want to add that in no way did Buck sharing his struggles come off as him bashing his team or even make them appear incompetent. The military community as a whole has done so much for this country that we can never pay back, so thank you both for all you have done. If anything, having listened to your stories have only made you guys more relatable and make someone like me feel like "Hey, these are people just like me, so maybe I can do something great with myself too" so I just want to say thank you for being mentors for people like me.
Sooo good, you guys rock. Andy you are right working through trauma can actually make you a better person, as terrible as it is at the time. Grateful for yall🇺🇸
Damaged or people who have faced a lot of adversity, had to have the strength to face this issues which in return can make a person wiser, more humble and mentally stronger. I think that's why people who have faced Adversity tend to become successful if they overcome or consistently work to overcome those issues.
Well done sir. This was a great episode. I've watched both with Buck and both were good. You are doing a great thing here. Keep doing what you're doing.
Great podcast guys! Andy, your definition of success is spot on. Having the means and the timeframe / ability to do something you desire, IS enough. Having traveled on both sides of the tracks (currently on the success side with gratitude), you nailed it! Cheers! 🍻
There is something about the conversation you have in general like day to day and on a podcast or just a sit down with good people. The intellectual conversation is legit beneficial for the goodness of humanity.
When you guys were talking about Ron White it hit me pretty good. I am 43 and drank every day for well over a decade, for half of that two fifths of whisky a day. Luckily my liver managed to hang on. Just want to say, sobriety is the best way to go, hands down, without question. Some folks can drink socially, like Mr. Stumpf, then there are people like me that can’t handle one.
I recently found a book (audible) called “I will teach you to be rich” by Remit Sethi- recommended by Tim Ferris, that helped me understand the concept Andy and Buck spoke of- it’s not about what you make, it’s what you spend. It’s helped me cut spending on shit I don’t like, and spend more on things that make my life “rich”. It’s a work in progress but I wish I read it (-audibly) 10 years ago. We are all a work in progress. Love you guys. No such thing as a life that’s better than yours
Been listening for over a year and I’ve heard it mentioned but never googled it until now … and Good God you like JUST LIKE the singer from Creed. That made my year. Cheers gentlemen
Awesome seeing you guys on FNG a couple days ago. Gonna check out that beef Andy mentioned. Hope Sean’s ribs are ok after getting beaten up by Andy. Really enjoyed the first time Buck was on and this one is turning out great as well.
Andy I don’t know if you know you’re doing it, but the way you “call out” buck when talking about his panic attacks. Saying things like “I don’t think they (panic attacks) happen for no reason” tells me a lot about who you are, a good friend a good person. It’s really rare to find people who help like that in a genuine way.
"Success" is hard to envision when it doesn't include an element of "happiness". I try to focus on gratitude--for what I have, who I am with, what I have gotten through--appreciating that.
Some great parts in this episode, I will now aspire to be the guy in shorts and flip-flops crushing beer cans on a wedding. Happy Holidays from across the pond :)
Hey Buck, I used to suffer from social anxiety. Correct me if I'm wrong, but for me I had to cut out stimulates temporarily in order to depress my nervous system (Caffeine) and develop the confidence to not be concerned with the opinions of others. Really how I worked my understanding internally was to discredit the populace by looking at mass thought and speculation. I had to come to terms that you can never convince others to understand where you're coming from, nor will you ever be able to fully convey that understanding. Therefore the only thing that matters is your confidence in your own frame and beliefs and the acknowledgement that you don't owe anyone an explanation for why you're doing / behaving in the ways you are. What it came down to was constant exposure to those things that made me anxious in order for me to acclimate. Love you guys, keep up the great content. Reading history and literature really shined a light on the absurdity of human nature and the pit falls that we find ourselves stepping into. The detachment from the self and coming to terms with the fact that the world doesn't revolve around us and no one at the end of the day gives a fuck. Everyone is too busy involved in their own little bubbles. Also looking to enlist into the 18x program and pick a ship out date this Tuesday. I've been researching like mad and owe you so much for all of your help good sir. Be easy boys.
people that come from hardship that have the drive and talent to succeed will fight like hell to overcome. thats why they are successful. they are always looking to improve their situation so it doesnt suck. people that are born in success never have to think about how to overcome adversity in the same way with the same intensity
I listened to the podcast with Evan...always one of my favorite guests... and I simply cant remember hearing anything so controversial that it would "cause a stir" among anyone not wearing a manbun.
I enjoyed the first and this one with Sean Rogers.. As far as BRC Evan Hafer, every now and then I make a comment about isn't the CEO Andy??? LOL.. You guys are doing great things for the Vets !! Stay Strong and Be Safe !!
YES! Love Sean! BTW Sean if you read this we've all been sucked into an argument with a 13 year old...don't feel bad lol Also your thoughts on people being negative in hopes of getting engagement from you are spot on...I run celebrity and public figure social media and that's exactly correct. The best advice I have is to only interact with the positive...block the negative and don't acknowledge it. People will get the message.
53:00 OMG. 🤣🤣🤣 I watched the footage of the roll - out of the gates, Sean "Cracked Rib" Rogers jumps on the highly sedated or barely awaken version of Andy who looked like he went for a nap right there on the mat. Then Andy scratches his nose and does his regular sweep on Sean. No big deal. No ribs have been harmed in production of that video 😆. I rarely comment on YT, but couldn't hold back here. Andy spends way more time on mats than Sean and it shows. Plus there is the weight difference.😁
Good joke right at the beginning with the phone, "obviously you don't". What I liked about this podcast was that it was about everybody's problems, marriage, money and not just about spec ops or hunting etc. I hope you will invite Paul Howe and Tom Satterly one day and speak about PTSD (I liked Tom Satterly's book "All Secure"). Cool podcast, keep it up.
just out of curiosity.. did you became friends after the first podcast or were you friends before?. Because if the answer is.. you became such good friends after the first podcast.. that´s really powerful
Because my parents died at an early age so I have always felt that the money in the bank is meaningless to a degree yes I should put money away for my kids but I have always felt that I would rather build a race car with my kids and go racing and keep putting money into it then have money in the bank because when I get old I won’t be talking to my kids about rember all those times looking at the balance in my account no I want to be saying remember that car we built and all of the fun and the problems we had to figure out either because of time or lack of money or something those memories are going to be awesome and it has been teaching them how to improvise or learn something we did not know that is living not having a lot in the bank
There is a female GB, she was an 18C. i was with her during the Q course. During the course, she was awesome in everything she did and routinely rucked more weight than the guys! i dont know her current status since the ND, but the story is true. there's also an 18A that was coming thru the pipeline (about a year ago now) but i dont know if she passed. **edit... because i'm typing while listening... No standards were lowered for that female 18C least not that i was aware of.
I wrote out a super long comment…but I wasn’t happy with it…so now I’m just gonna say I REALLY appreciate you both. And the work you do, and have done. On behalf of my mother, and from me too: thank you both for your service. Also, Andy, you’re hilarious. I miss seeing/hearing you and Bryan Callen shootin’ the shit…the silencer/suppressor stuff was so hilarious. You two are so funny together. -MUCH RESPECT
$2MM saved and it's game over for me (retirement) and I am a financial advisor. If you can't live on $100K (5% of $2MM) a year you are probably doing something wrong. But near Chicago like San Diego costs could be higher. :) Cheers fellas ! Hooyah !
Intro about Buck: 6:30
Start of conversation: 7:44
Heck yeah, great to see Buck back in the seat. Looking forward to this one.

Quote of the day... "If we're eating hotdogs, I'm eating them sideways" - Sean "Buck" Rogers. 😂😂😂
"It's not my fault you don't have a gag reflex" -Andy 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
And foot longs at that...
80s street joke
Hotdogs yes♤
Andy lookin' hella BUD/S instructor in that blue sweater
he is blending in with the background...lol
@@AsdeEspadas.Fernando It's literally the exact same blue hahaha. Some how I still think it's an accident.
@@aw8one or a tribute to ll cool j disguise as a couch in the movie Toys. Just for clarity, i love this podcast and really admire andy

Oh boy. Sean and Sean are prob my favourite guests on CHP.

Sounds like something that someone who was hypnotized would say lol. Great podcast, Sean Rogers is a great inspiration.
Great to see Buck on show again 🤙🏻
"Money... is coupons for experiences". Thanks Andy- I am stealing this and putting it on my wall.

More SOF = more shooters= less assholes in the world. You're doing the Lord's work Sean Rodgers. Keep on keeping on.
Andy another great one Sean is a great guy👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸.
Hooray for lowering standards in our military, I'm sure that's what our enemies are doing 😉
Buck is a legit guy! 🇺🇸⚡️

Some of the discussions you and your guests have, have been rather therapeutic to listen to.
Is the Evan/BRCC thing still going on ? Send them some origami patterns maybe

Post traumatic growth, soooo goood
wounded.... incomplete... resurgent...
I got so weak at 12:30. Like Andys a fucking Werewolf and just trying to give Buck a running start.
Good conversation.
You guys are an absolutely hilarious duo, great episode.

Not being comfortable in your own skin is shitty. Its something you never get used to and it stops you from trying a lot of things
