Abandoned $150 Honda 750cc Build | Will it FINALLY RUN?
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 8 июн 2021
- We bought a 1980 DOHC Honda CB750 for CHEAP! The DOHC 750cc engine had a hard spot in the engine rotation, which we found out was due to multiple stuck valves in the motorcycle engine's head. We service the head by installing new seals and cleaning the valves, and reassemble the engine with new gaskets. We shove the 750cc engine into our cross kart and see if this abandoned CB750 engine will run!
Thanks for Watching!

Who else wants to see the cross kart vs trophy truck at Busco Beach. Like so John and Ike will see.
Not a big fan of the cross kart. Little wheels, no ground clearance. I'm amazed it took them as long as it did to smash something on the bottom of that thing.
@@bradleyj.fortner2203 yeah, it definitely needs more ground clearance. Still cool imo.
@@bradleyj.fortner2203 Just needs better ground clearance and a skid plate to protect the engine. It's a HOOT!
They have built so many great new projects in the last year and a half that ALL need to get out to busco for a good shake-down, drag races, etc - trophy truck, cross cart, mini bikes, etc!
yess
1:55 "Worst head job you've ever done?" Poorly phrased, John. 🤣
For sure. Facepalm
But.... hysterically funny.
I laughed so hard when he asked that
I think i snorted when he said that :P
Lol i did too!
Yall have so many go carts & mini bikes that you can 'barn find' things in your backyard that have been re-neglected. Love it!
Tbh they need to start doing give aways so they can make money off of it and get more subs
I messaged y’all on Facebook don’t know how to get in touch any other way hopefully y’all see this I love the channel 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@daltonengland2127 Yes! I would love to buy some Shirts from them and get a chance to win cool shit, I got the backyard performance shirt and "bend it mend it send it" hat they did a while back. But would love some new designs. If they were to talk to some of the channels that do regular give aways and learned that they can make $20K-$30k off a givaway I think they would give it a shot, Plus It would allow them to step up their build game.

That's why they they just got robbed! He had a 2 thousand dollar honda ct70 stolen
“Just grab it somewhere big and we can sit down and readjust”
That’s what she said
I can't stop laughing. Somehow, reading this comment before I heard it in the video made it funnier.
🤣
Lmao theres soo many moments like that in these videos😂😂
Jokes in a nut shell
@@GhostOfDamned lol
Question time: is it time we start spending big money for engines that we KNOW work, or do you like the trail and error process with these cheap non-runners?
Trail and error
Every once and a while it would be nice to see you guys buy a real nice new motor but for the most part, trial and error is the way to go. Also, I hope you guys have a wonderful Wednesday!
Both, just do what you want.
Mix it up! Maybe do a comparison video of a new and used/not working engine. Show the ups and downs, the spend on each side, and which one the team prefers.
Would be cool to see one or two high powered modern engines like the 919, but I like the trial and error revival style videos
These dudes remind me of me and my best friend in our teenage years learning to wrench and build things and work together as a team etc... 👍😀 hope these dudes inspires all of you future mechanical badasses out there to get your hands dirty🇺🇲
Yessir!!
The difference is these guys are no teenagers but they still approach things like they are. Did anyone see them try to lap the valves or check the clearances. Then they kept the starter button pushed until I'm sure the starter was over heated. A little starter fluid would have helped a bunch. Don't get me started on the condition and lack of equipment in that so called shop.
@@ActivityPhoto you don’t need lots of equipment to do something, a decent mechanic can work with very little to achieve what they want. And just because you didn’t see them do something doesn’t mean they didn’t do it, if you watch Isaac’s channel you will see that he’s a highly skilled mechanic and wouldn’t try to start an engine without correctly setting up the valve train
And thats why I'm goin to Votech (Oklahoma) to be a mechanic for automotive service technicians
@@hankyspanky1987hell yeah!!! Hey have you ever checked out Puddin's Fab shop he's from Oklahoma he's funny as hell
You need to name that one "Skid Mark" like the one John got when he tanked the oil pan :P
Omg yes!!! Thats funny asf
Yes it's okay to crank them and let them idle to make sure it's going to run before wasting any more time if it's not. But however it's not good to Rev on them without the exhaust.
I was okay and understood why you did everything you did. But you guys let me down this time what happened to getting the exhaust on and a test run ? Okay I guess it was a way to get us to come back and watch another one to help support the channel that much more which I watch everyone anyway.
put proper carbs on it jesus at nearly a Million subs you need to be upping your game
At least the aluminum Y intakes like Moto Migs did on his
If I followed correctly they have the original carbs but they wanted to wait fixing them carby's up until they knew this engine was a runner.
So no more excuses, we want to see and hear that engine scream on its original carbs.
Agreed. And sync them! I have an 81 KZ750-4, and I was amazed at how much better it idled and how much more low end it had after I synced them. Kinda sucked, but was well worth it in my opinion.
One of my favorite karts. Can't wait to see her back in action. I'm keeping my eyes open for an engine for the drag kart. That poor girl needs to come back as well.
Put a 50 shot of Nitrous, on that green girl 😂
Long live the crosscart. Easily my second favorite after the ducarti.
insanity, and slightly less insanity
I hope that Isaac has atleast 49% of the Cars and Cameras LLC.. Without him, It dosent exist. It appears the 2 of you have it all figured out, the 2 of ya's make a great duo. Money is the root of all evil and greed is its vessel.
Love the cross cart, but still can't wait to see the rail back up and going, to me it's the coolest build you boys have done, I'm 57 years old and still love watching your builds.
I had a crazy idea for you guys for the pond - a paddle boat with a 212 on it. Great to see the cross cart running again.
Y’all are getting close to that 1 million subscriber mark,it’ll definitely be well deserved on y’all’s part too. You two consistently make quality content and you add in just the perfect amount of humor as well!
When I hear the term, intern, I picture a nerdy person with a ponytail, glasses and carrying a clipboard. He looks like an apprentice not an intern. Lol
Apprentices get paid.
When I hear the term apprentice, I think of a confused, angry, young man, who hates sand, killing younglings at the Jedi Temple lol
Welp he does have a bitch biscuit and is kinda goofy,so there's that... 😆
I think of Monica, and try not to think about cigars...!🧐😎😜
Always good feels when you put some much time into something and it works out.
It's so good to hear the Cross Kart spring back to life. I hope a skid plate mod is in store.
Perhaps a little more ground clearance too?
@@TheBestOrion Personally, I’d consider taller rear tires. A couple inches of circumference wouldn’t be a bad thing.
@@MrVolksbeetle that’s what she said
You guys are awesome. Got me into fixing karts and bikes. Just got a buggy cart to work on for a good deal. Keep up the great work fellas! 🤘🏻
7:14 With his hair up like that, Peyton looks just like John Belushi's Samurai Chef! 🤣
He reminds me of Ogre from Revenge Of The Nerds.
He did indeed! I never would have thought of that, good catch!
Awesome! Glad to see the Cross Cart back getting some repairs, one of my favorite builds and probably as much of a staple to the channel as the classic Rat Rod Wagon. Cant wait to see it rip up the C&C Grand Prix.
Glad to see you got the engine running. Things like balancing the carbs can wait. Looking forward to the next episode where maybe we will see it running again.
Guy's this has made my month. Been waiting and wanting to see the cross cart come back. One of my favorite builds you guys have done Second only to the Ducarti. If memory serves the OG cross cart was a single overhead cam 750 (I could be wrong)? Can't wait to see it on the C&C gran prix...
So glad to see the cross kart making an appearance again I was worried it was a project we was never gonna see again lol!
Starting my first Kart build. Got a lot ideas and info from you guys. Hope all works out!!
Out with the old valvetrain in with the new love the motor builds. Keep it up guys
Would like to see you guys get back to doing more revival videos.
Getting old engines and getting them going again. Is a bit more relevant to some of us low budget builders, and being in Australia aswell engines and parts aren't as cheap new here.
And the challenge and the knowledge learned along the way from reviving an old engine.
It seems more satisfying to me starting an old engine that hasn't started in quite some time.
And seeing just how bad some can be and still run😁
Would love to see more like your earlier videos.
Man so stoked for it to fire. I was trying to cheer it along. This is my favorite build by far.
The cross kart is my favorite project that you guy made glad to see it back 😁👍
John, to be honest, i would like to see more of you in the videos, your a cool cat and alot of fun. Great video guys, cant wait to see more🤘🤘🤘🤘
Excited for the return of the cross kart! It's gonna be awesome
The cross cart lives! Yes!!
I was so exited when I saw another video I have watched so many of your videos this summer!
I cant believe how thick those cylinder sleeves were. That engine could easily be bored out another .100 inch to make it about an 850. I wonder if a big bore kit is available for that.
There are 815cc pistons available.
In the us the base engine was also available with 700cc. The infamous hd protection act.
CB900dohc basically the same engine.
@@isickofit I was wondering about that. Honda makes such awesome engines, and the air cooled ones were beautiful too.
@@donellmuniz590
Disliked by many as the plain (no bearing) cams on the dohc wore badly if you didn't change the oil much more often than the stated service intervals, typically 750-1000 miles.
@@isickofit How odd of Honda to cheap out like that. I expect crap like that from GM, not Honda.
Cant wait to see yall send it. Used to live in Statesville, NC when I was a kid
I really like this 750 on the crosskart, you should really find bigger tyres for it tho, careful as it might chnge the gearing ! Really happy to see it running again !
I might be installing a stage 2 kit to my 212 hemi. Super excited!
Guys I wish you made a little bit longer videos but that being said you video content is great really enjoy watching them
The cross cart is my favorite project that you guys have done thus far.
The Cross Kart is one of my favorite builds on the channel. Glad to see it get some much-needed attention. 👍
Can't wait to see it come together! Going to be awesome
You need a skid plate to protect the oil pan from bashing it again. 👍
You guys planning on adding a skid plate for the oil pan? Awesome to hear it roar to life again😎👍👍.
Hey you Carolina guys, a little constructive suggestion from my personal experience a lot of soaking with penetrant or aluminum acid and a wooden dowel rod seems to work the best for me. However you got it. Thanks for sharing enjoyed all your content for I learned a lot from you guys, Bo
Now build a heavy duty skid plate to protect the engine. What about the head from the other engine?
Another great video guys. This Old Man loving it. 🛵😎💝💝
That old school engine needs a Kerker header like the old days.
Nice job guy's was good to see the cross kart back
The cross cart is by far my favorite build other than the drag rail im so excited to see what you guys have planded with it in the future.. Love the content and by the way anyone notice the spider coming down i front of Isaac at 13:40 into the video 😆
Good luck guys but for a small reference a little bit of two-stroke oil in the gas will help with valve train lifetime maintenance
Easily one of the best feelings in the world for sure! I recently got a couple of my motorcycles up and running again!
Super excited to see it fly soon...😉
SOUNDS SWEET!
Good rescue.
That engine looked really tight when Isaac was turning it over by hand.
That's what she said.
Do you think it’s just the compression?
And when you do a valve job you need to reshim the spring buckets.
Tbh my opinion... it needs some KY lmao yea def sounded stuck!
@@Basstaco69 With no plugs?
I have had an engine with stuck valves. I was able to get them freed up by using Marvel Mystery oil in the crankcase. I did not drain the crankcase oil but just added the Marvel mystery oil then drained the oil afterwards.
Dang, it sounds mean !!! Good job getting this beast back together again !
Awesome guys can’t wait to see it run 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm ready for it to be back
Just a suggestion build a skid plate for they oil pan or tell John he can’t ride only watch 😂 excited to see this beast ripping again.🤙🏻
Love your channel keep it guys 👍👍👍
The cross car is by far my favorite out of all of your guys goodies really sad that rocket motor couldn’t find a home inside of it :/
I'm ready for a race between the Kross Kart and the Trophy Truck. I think a rally style race course would be a good race for both of them
i do love the vice grip and 2x4 mounting system
Hope you guys are going to install a skid plate under the engine this time. Gratz on the engine running guys,
I check my RUclips just to see if there's another video and I've already got notifications on and subscribed! Lol y'all need to post moreeeee
I got a 71 cc atv and an old 71 340 cc Olympic ski doo that I would give you guys if you ever wanted to venture to ontario canada. The atv needs a wire harness. Skidoo runs fine.
Am I the only one that was on the edge of my seat, then gave a big shit eatin grin when that motor finally fired up?
Same lol sounds like it needs new piston return springs tho!😂😂
IKE!...
IS QUITE THE MECHANIC! 🔧
NICE WORK IKE! 😉👍
Liked before watching, always great content
I am so excited for it to be back
How awesome would this be just hanging with your bro and working on stuff like this for a job. That would be so awesome.
Bro can’t wait loved those thing
You now need to create a rally track style loop for the cross cart and trophy trick to race on.... With jumps and such
We need to get yall to 1 mil!!
You guys could use a carbide valve seat cutter with slightly larger valves. Heavier springs ect.
id love to see if the cars and cameras crew could build/ modify a cross kart to run with a 89-99 yamaha fzr600 motor, im totally not saying this for tips on how to get my fzr running, love the builds guys keep it up
Now don't forget to put on a sump guard. Great work
YES the ol’ girl’s back and BETTER THAN EVER! One set of 4 carbs and better tires later and she’ll SMASH the current record. Unless the Ducarti has something to say ‘bout that.
Welcome back into the fold, Cross Cart.
That things has dual overhead cams. I had 1976 CB 750 that had a single overhead cam, it would peg out the speedometer, which went to 165 mph.
What I've done to get stuck valves out is spray inside the intake and exhaust ports with Wal Mart choke cleaner, it still has that "old school" bite that will dissolve the carbon and varnish. Gumout cleaner doesn't have the same strength. I'll then tap them down, spray the stem, tap it back, spray, tap again until they get loose. If the valve is rusty, I'll substitute kroil for choke cleaner
Ike’s the man. I love the sound of those engines.
Watching this sitting next to my wife, who is reading, while Isaac is cranking the engine over. "Are they TRYING to burn out the starter?" I love my wife, she knows her engines.
"Mushroom the heads of the valves gettin' em out"...get some brass punches. The brass is softer than the material of the valve. It will help prevent the head from mushrooming, and works just as well on bolts and other such things that deform easily when met by the hard face of a hammer.
Nice man love the new engine already
It's down on compression on one cyl you can hear it when turning it over. Hopefully y'all fix it before it goes back into the cross kart
Did you lap the valves and seats that was pitted? Also there is a popping sound like an aircompressor is running. Check cylinders 1-2 compression.
ive got a 1983 Honda 750 V4 ya'll can have, i bought a parts bike, carbs and wiring and all to make a mean go cart power plant. its a Magna 750. In Ohio, title and everything. yall are welcome to it
Oh yeah can't wait to see it rip again 🔥👍✌️
I put a Honda Hawk GT NT 650 Engine on my Shifter Kart. Now next up Turbo mount.
Love this built!
My favorite build breathes again
I love these euro style builds where everything is an engine out job, but not after cutting the vehicle apart lol.
I just love your videos.
love this channel! been subscribed for a long time, but i can't figure out why the channel is call "cars" and cameras. should be karts and kameras lol
Hell yeah it's Back.
Ground of course, the easiest way to mess up ANY electrics !
You should have pretty the head in a bucket of diesel and then use some pending training oil to loosen the valves up if needed been doing machine work a long time of course if you're buying new valves and new guides you can pound away
Great editing
Y’all are the best
