Yes, go to Austin!! Anytime my husband and I visit our Home State - Texas- we stop at two places: Terry Blacks and The Salt Lick (Driftwood Location). And as a bonus grab some jerky from Buc-ee’s! 😂

Lockhart is stellar. Great barbecue there. Texas has awesome barbecue no matter where you land. Coopers barbecue in Llano is incredible as well.
I really enjoy you all’s videos.. & glad y’all made it to TX. But, if Matt disrespects TX’s ribs one more time, I might scream. Who raised you 🤣… how on earth did you grow up believing that TX didn’t have good ribs. We aren’t new to this… & damn sure don’t need any sauce… that’s blasphemous.

If you go to Austin you can "experience" Franklin BBQ but don't stop there. It's amazing BBQ but do yourselves a favor and head a little farther south. Hays County BBQ in San Marcos is an absolute diamond in the rough. Brisket is on point and best pork chop ever. Oh... we also have Blacks BBQ (not Terry Blacks) right down the road. Head a tad bit east and now you get Lockhart BBQ (amazing)... oh and also the original Blacks (not Terry Blacks. Same family but there's a difference). Take a quick tour of Smitty's. Then short trip South to Luling for City Market and snag some of that sausage. Can't say much for sides because a lot of times we don't really care about the sides unless they're just so dang popular. Not a fan of pretty much all of the BBQ joint potato salads. Lot of us just grab jalapenos, onions and pickles... lol

Come through DFW and go to Arlington, TX and visit Goldee's Barbecue! Best ribs, brisket and sides.

When y’all leave Dallas and go to Austin, yall should stop at Millers Smokehouse in Belton, TX. Real Central Texas bbq that stands neck and neck with any bbq in the state.

Unpopular opinion: no sauce on ribs is better than sauce on ribs. Broooo the sauce be messing up the dry rub & that’s what I typically look for in my ribs lol
