      As someone who slacklines, walking uphill is generally more difficult, especially if it's a steep climb after that much distance. I wouldn't doubt that his entire body was sore the following day.

    Sitting here on my cozy balcony and I'm about as stressed out watching that than Jaan was most likely. AMAZING!!! That uphill battle at the end, seeing the finish line, the visual distortion and parallax of the Sicilian tower after being over the water for so long, must have been insane!

      It was crazy how the distance plays with your eyes on camera, i cant imagine what it would be like in person. And walking that odd curve down and back up for the other half with the wind pushing it, bobbing up and down. Impressive just as much to not lose your stomach getting nauseous

    for anyone wondering, no he didn't break the record for the longest highline. For that he needs to walk start to end without falling. He did however break the record for longest distance walked continuously without falling since he only fell after walking past the previous highline record

      1.4 miles is shorter than ~2.2 miles

      @@Holden-uf7 exactly what i mean. In the slaklining community the world record for a highline means that you need to walk the whole line without falling. If you fall then we dont count it as the record for the longest highline. The record he did beat is a different one, walking for the longest distance without falling, but he didnt complete the whole line

      @@junkgrave No, that statement is proof you are not an engineer. The engineer knows the risk of breaking and has tried to mitigate it but understands that it is a mechanical system and can fail.

    In the longer video it said the length is 3.6 kilometers...and for us here in the U.S. that is about 2.25 miles...which is a looooong way to walk on a cable wire!! That is a great accomplishment!

    Absolutely amazing! This guy is superhuman!! I’ve seen lots of amazing feats but THIS ONE truly blows my mind 🤯 Unbelievable. I’d love to meet you someday just to see what a superhuman is like in person. HUGE PROPS, just wow man 🙌👏✊🤟💪🤙

    Братишка привет тебе от Russian с Западной Сибири!!! На данный момент я на пенсии, мне 65 лет. У нас закалённые к холоду люди в - 53 градуса по цельсию в проруби мороженное едят, а ты в своей стране по такому длинному канату и на такой безумной высоте прошёл весь путь по натянутому тросу. Ты конечно же крут, и достоин уважения. Редко у кого хватит смелости на такой безумный шаг, если что только Русский. Я был просто в шоке, когда случайно увидел в инете ролик, как одного Россиянина подняли на воздушном шаре на высоту нескольких километров от земли, и он на подвешенном в низу корзины воздушного шара металлического шеста, выполнял всякие физические упражнения в виде танца, как типа танцуют стрептизерши. Главная фишка в том, что он это делал без какой либо страховки. Был момент, когда он от перенапряжения мышц рук чуть не сорвался в низ. Так как многое не учёл. Руки начали потеть и ему с каждой минутой было всё сложней удержаться на гладком металлическом шесте. Слава богу выдержал и остался жив. Ребята не рискуете своей жизнью, подумайте каково будет вашим близким если пойдёт что то не так. Бессомнения каждый из вас по своему крут. Но не забывайте о своих родителях, которые дали вам жизнь не для того, чтобы вы постоянно испытывали её на прочность. Хотя, что я вас предупреждаю и стараюсь уберечь от подобного рода рискованных эксперементов, когда сам такой.

    I'm currently in physical therapy recovering from a concussion. one of my biggest areas of focus is my balance. i can hardly stand for 30 seconds with my feet together let alone on a slack line. this isn't just physically but also incredibly mentally exhausting. i can imagine he slept well that night

    i would say jaan roose is still the best slackliner in the world. he broke the world record but then he fell after which made it invalidated. but he still broke the record so he is AMAZING at it
