I think the video has this wrong as well, but Overdrive vs Witch Doctor was actually in the Round of 16, Bronco vs Witch Doctor was in the qualifiers, with Witch Doctor being awarded a wildcard after its loss.
I agree, but not by a lot. I think they mostly want to distinguish from the British Robot Wars where those housebots are very overpowered and there are pits and traps everywhere.
Would probably also be great to ask the people competing what there winning condition is 😅 some of the bots are just too dumb in my opinion...ln my opinion the only ones worth watching are the spinners and flippers if the have enough power,no idea what the ghost raptor guy was thinking with the first slowlift thing 😅

Growing up loved this game, used to play it on ps1 all the time. The best bots were the ones that could flip the other bot upside down and keep them there. Cheers for the algo to bring this back for me
If Hypershock (which looks so odd lol) had not broken down they'd have beaten Bite Force, they got lucky lol. Also Tombstone vs Witch Doctor such an epic fight an unpredictable outcome!
It's always amazed me why NOBODY ever came up with trap net for these spinners. I mean tombstone won almost everything. But all it would take is a trap net to jam up the spinner. So frustrating that spinners have always dominated.
It just shows that Tombstone and Icewave, albeit having very effective weapons. If they fight a bot that has defensive capabilities. They turn Tombstone and icewave's energy from their own spinning blade its worse enemy. They turned that energy against them. Tombstone was lucky that the witch doctor flipped.
Love this Fight robots, But I don't know why these geniuses never thought of putting a spring-loaded lever on it so that in case they tip over they won't be useless and can return to their fighting position.
There was a very strong battle bot like the monitour, all grey and it had a piece of metal that rotated in the middle that shot them to the ceiling and destroyed everyone, I never saw it again in these fights, does anyone know what happened to it?

If there are so many battlebots with rotating weapons, why arent there battlebots with countermeasures like kevlar fabric, or some other kind of fabric that tangles their rotation weapon and makes them "friendly" ??? It would be just a logic next step to develop the next weapon for this scenario...am i wrong?

Witch Doctor losing from being too sportsmanlike is just great. Bronco had managed to get stuck and it is unclear whether it could get out of there.
I wouldn't say "too sportsmanlike", it happened so fast that I believe they didn't even realise Bronco was stuck.

Havnt watched a Championship since like 2006ish when I was in highschool. GLAD to see Tombstone and Icewave still dominating.

Tombstone is struggling and icewave retired in 2022 due to being pretty unviable .

there are rules against nets, i think in one season a team found a loophole around the net and used it and won but from then on all nets were banned
