    I watch alot of tutorials for crochet and yours are by far the best. Your explanations, your voice, and your pictures are by far the clearest and easiest to follow. Thank you so much for all of them.

    Oh my gosh!! I'm so glad I found your channel. The way you just showed how to cheat at the end if you've got one more stitch than you think you should is life-changing for me! Lol I can't wait to try this one! I'm working on your starfish scarf right now ... First time I've ever understood front and back post! Tytyty!

    I really LOVE this stitch!!! I made a scarf AND matching beanie (normal DC for inc rnds, then mesh st for all other rnds) in ONE DAY. It is so quick to work up and so very easy. Definitely one that beginners could pick up easily and make something really pretty. Thank you!!

      I tried this stitch and it's my new favorite. Very nice texture without being all holey. I did mine the long way...134 chains to start, because when I did 22 it made too long of one color with the yarn I was using, and it looked like really big stripes. It came out great. Thank you for your expertise. You're a great teacher.

    @KathleenPacheco I know my reply is really late and I don't know whether somebody helped you out already, but I think you should be fine as long as you chain an even amount of stitches in the beginning. So to make it wider you just chain 30 or 40 in the beginning. Or any other even amount.

    I wish when you show how to do the starting chain on your videos, that you would tell what the pattern repeat is so that we could use the stitch pattern for other creations like...a wider infinity scarf or for a scoodie. Is that possible? (example: chains x6, plus whatever the chain up for the start of the next row)
    Thank you for all of your work. It is inspiring to take the stitches into other projects.

    • @Meladora1
      @Meladora1  11 лет назад

      these are done in sets of 2, and you will need 2 stitches for each end, so make your beginning chain an even number then add plus 1 because you will loose a stitch when you work your first stitch. so 2 + 1

    Thanks so much Melodora for this amazing looking stitch! I'm having major trouble on the ends though, it never ends right or looks right, like it is too much or too little and I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
    Any thoughts??
    Thanks!

    • @Meladora1
      @Meladora1  9 лет назад

      +blforbes0309 This is the hardest part of the stitch. I recommend if you're finding it hard to find the end stitch that you get yourself some markers. Mark every beginning sc after you do it, then when you reach it again you will know that is your last stitch.

  • @66michelleying
    @66michelleying 7 лет назад +1

    Your tutorial is very detailed and great, but I tried it and found out on the both sides of the ending loops isn't have enough stitches to support the width of the scarf. That is because you only do it using single stitch instead of the double stitches.

  • @MsKcolorado
    @MsKcolorado 11 лет назад +2

    When you're at the very beginning of the second row (when start with a single crochet then chain one, then double,chain one, then double) are you crocheting under the two yarn pieces on the top of the last row, or only one?

    • @Meladora1
      @Meladora1  9 месяцев назад

      I couldn't find this part in the video so I can't explain exactly what I meant by saying it, but I can tell you it's a stitch that takes 2 stitches to create, yet to get a even edge, you need to have 1 more stitch. So you chain an even number, yet you lose 1 stitch once you create your first stitch giving you that uneven number that you need. I hope this makes since.

    • @Meladora1
      @Meladora1  10 лет назад

      Elizabeth O Are you chaining 1 and single crocheting in the first stitch? Don't double crochet in the first and last stitches. Just ch 1 and sc into the same stitch.

    • @elizabetho9707
      @elizabetho9707 10 лет назад

      Meladora's Creations for Crochet Yes, I was doing the SC and ch 1 only. I was doing that, then turning, then doing it again. I think that is what was making the ripple. I did that only once, then proceeded with the dc x10 stitches. That is turning out a lot better. I've only done 3 rows that way, but the edges look better so far!

    If I crochet tight would it be better to use a bigger hook? I want it to have a drape feel. Any help is appreciated my fellow commenters!!

      I recommend a bigger hook for anything that you want to hang looser.
