I don’t think CS Joseph covers this but isn’t Ni mainly a personal pattern detector while Ne is mainly a possibility explorer? Ni is my critic and Se is my trickster and I believe it makes sense that I am critical of the world around me and my perception of its inherent social patterns because I lack awareness of how I am perceived by others and how to change it (Se).
Great video, Sam! 😁 Have an INFJ brother and ESFP mom, so this one was quite interesting to me Definitely seen the Ni-Se axis in action from both of them executed in their respective manner It's great understanding the "mechanics" behind it
In MBTI each of the 16 types has 4 conscious cognitive functions. I'm an INTP therefore I have Ti-Ne-Si-Fe. My judgment functions are Ti and Fe. My perceiving functions are Ne and Si (an axis) An ESFJ has it in reverse Fe-Si-Ne-Ti. The ESFJ, has a Si/Ne axis. Same as an INTP like myself. Se and Ni are not part of the ESFJ higher cognitive preferences but it is for other types with higher Ni and Se like INTJ, ISTP, INFJ, ISFP, ENTJ, ENFJ etc. In the 8 function model, each type has all 8 functions but for an ESFJ, Se/Ni is there but kind of in the background playing a less noticeable role.
Simply put, each type has 4 out of 8 cognitive functions (at least, that they’re consciously aware of. The other 4 basically make up the unconscious as far as I’m aware). ESFJs just happen to have the Si axis instead of Se
Ni and Se are like fire and wind

Nice one Sam 👍
My time has come
Yes Sam Wise. This ESFP really enjoys your breathing example 😂😂😂

Why is the ESFJ not part of the Se axis? Can someone help me understand?

ESFJs have Si parent, and Ne child
Therefore they are on the Si-Ne axis
Nice thumbnail there
