Think about it LeBron and D-Wade mocking Dirk who had flu-like symptoms and then you proceed to lose the next 3 games. At that time you hadn’t won anything! I’m sure the fanboys will come with excuses for this as well as straw man arguments and ad hominem attacks.

One thing many of his fans don't mention is that he played mostly in the Eastern conference which just happened to be quite weak most of the time. He would very likely play in fewer finals if playing in the wild wild West

      @kevinsmith138 9 месяцев назад

Guess I’ll be everyone’s thorn in their side here and say these few things. 1) the “strength of conference” argument is absolutely irrelevant because he dominated the conference like he was supposed to! Even in 2018 when it looked like he would fail because his team was bad HE STILL WON THE CONFERENCE! Also idc how weak a conference is winning it for 8 straight years is unheard of unless your name was Bill Russell. 2) then you use the “Wild West” argument like he didn’t WIN A TITLE the year the lakers actually built a proper roster around him! Sure you can say he missed the first year when he was injured for 27 games or the Russell Westbrook year, but outside of injuries and TERRIBLE front office decisions he’s barely minimum getting into the playoffs. 3) to directly address the “he would’ve won less if he played in the west” actually might not be true at all! So you’re telling me if he went to San Antonio he would’ve won less? Or if he would’ve been drafted by let’s say the Grizzled with Pau he would’ve won less? We don’t know that and if anything I think he’d had MUCH better help than when he was in Cleveland from 04-10 where he STILL went to the finals

Remember when the NBA was about winning? Russell's 11 rings in 13 seasons. Jordan's 6 rings in 13 seasons. Magic's 5 rings in 12 seasons. Lebron has 4 rings in 21 seasons and knew he couldn't catch these legends so he's gone the stat pad route. All his mouthpieces in the media praise his stats these days. It's all they talk about.
Even his 4 rings are sus because 2 of them came in shortened seasons. Kyrie bailed him out after the NBA suspended Draymond. A ridiculous suspension that only happened to help the Cavs. No foul or tech was called on Dray but he gets suspended lmao. Ray Allen bailed him out too obviously. And the biggest fluke in sports history, the mickey mouse bubble. The Lakers haven't sniffed the finals with Lebron before or after that "championship." And no one talks about AD firing his agent, signing with Klutch Sports, then says he'll only accept a trade to the Lakers. Obvious tampering went on there.
Lastly, there is the PED use. Anyone with a brain knows this guy is on something. Every athlete ever declines at age 35+ and the only ones who didn't were caught using PEDs. One of Lebron's inner circle, Tristian Thompson, gets popped for PED use and the media reports on it for 2 mins that day and never speaks about it again. KG says "He's on that Balco. He's on that new juice" and the media said nothing. Didn't even cover it. Chael Sonnen brings it up and same thing, the media ignores it. The media knows he's using PEDs but they'll never ever cover it.

I think what ultimately ruined his legacy was just not letting his career play out without having his friends doing the commentary, and constantly shoving this idea that he belongs in the goat debate down our throats.
I mean honestly today it feels like the only ones that like him or people that are signed to clutch sports and his super fans the people that are Stans for him.
Like I wouldn’t even have a problem with jumping from superteam to super team if after he wins a championship with basically an All-Star team behind him and then the next day, I have to get told how much better he is than Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant. I’m sorry, but if you’re going to stack the deck that high And take that many shortcuts and then have the audacity to pay people to get on television and tell us that you’re better than Mike is what people have the problem with.
Like 10 years ago I think a lot more people liked him than they do now but I think now, especially since all of this slander towards Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant keeps coming from clutch sports to make him look better. He’s totally made an enemy out of anyone that has respect for the legacies of people that have played this sport .
Like I never thought he was the goat, but there was a time I liked him I would defend him. I was even happy when he came to the Lakers. I bought a LeBron James number 23 jersey. I even celebrated the bubble championship. But what ruined it for me was it felt like the bubble championship the disrespect to Kobe Bryant that were coming from people that were signed to clutch sports is what made me just say forget this guy. Any real Laker fan that has been a member of Laker nation for decades, and knows what’s going on as far as clutch sports goes, and LeBron James, none of us are happy with him. You can’t go around disrespecting Laker grades, and all you’ve done in a Laker uniform is a bubble championship in an in season tournament that was designed for him to win because everyone in their brother knew by the time the playoffs came around he wasn’t going to be in the finals again so they want to decorate this man up as much as possible.
But I really do think he wouldn’t have these back door deals with the NBA and ESPN and Fox Sports to where we’ve constantly being forced to listen to another goat debate in favor of LeBron. I mean for crying out loud it can be the middle of August, and the only thing happening in the sports world is baseball and you can probably turn on ESPN and they’re having a goat debate for the NBA.
I mean, the experiment has failed. It’s not like you’re going to change anyone’s mind in the next two seasons. The plan to make him the goat the media trying to convince people of it has failed miserably. I think even with the super teams people would’ve respected him so much more if he would’ve just let his career do the talking instead of , all of his friends who are signed to his company, constantly disrespecting legends, who worked harder and were more skilled, and had less help in tougher conferences than him.

I don't care if he is gready or egocentric, to me the big problem is that the guy has no footwork, has poor handles, he is a poor shooter, every night he is traveling without getting calls, his teams have mysteriously way way way more free throws than the opponents and lastly the flopping and the fact that he owns an sports/media agency, with literally "media" seeds talking in his behalf... Then what about the stero*ds?
I never have I ever looked at him playing and I feel like I was watching the best ever.. or the second or the third... I don't think he was better than Duncan or Nowitzky, I don't think he was better than a healthy T-Mac, I don't think he is better than Nikola Jokic and definitely he is not even in the same stratosphere as Stephen Curry, Kobe nor MJ.

Great video and finally someone talking not only about the comparison with MJ (which is absurd in itself), but as you pointed out even just by comparing LeBron to Duncan he gets bitten up!
C'mon the guy can play another 10 years and keep moving from one super team to the next and even win 2 more titles, but the point is that nobody in the history of the NBA did that, and it's not a compliment, even if Sharpe, Wright and other mental incapacitated media personalities keep saying that that's the reason why he's the Goat he's not.
He's is the Goat of mercenaries and the first words of MJ are the main reason why the vast majority can't respect LeBron or see him as the Goat after what he did in 2010 as nobody would respect MJ if after 1990 being bitten again by Detroit, asked to be transfered to the Lakers to join Magic and Worthy to win titles, that's not the right way to win, there is no struggle in doing that!

My friend. You gave perfect examples of why he is not the greatest player of all time.
However I do think that James is the most complete player. He can score, handle the ball like a point guard, and he can pass and rebound. His defense has been declining as he ages. But at his best. James was a good and diverse defender. And he always keeps himself in good condition.
In my opinion personally. I just don't trust him at the free throw line in critical situations. He's a complete player.
But like you stated earlier. He just made some bad decisions. Also a no show in the finals really hurt.
