She sounds so good! I have a MKV GTI and I’m currently on Stage 2 tune. I got exhaust, cai, dv relocation kit, stage 2 dogbone mount, lowered springs and a front mounted intercooler that I want to install soon. Love seeing Golf R/GTI content on YT!
I absolutely loved this video! I'm pretty sure I've said it on another of yours or maybe Alex's videos but, seriously, it's so damn nice to see someone on RUclips post realistic video of working on a car. I love seeing the mistakes, the frustration of dropping something in the bay, the kick in the gut when it's not on the ground under the car. 10/10 video
Back when I was looking into VW's and ST's for a daily, I always saw diverter blow off valves as an option and never knew where you put them in and how they sounded. Kinda glad that this vid showed both since I had no idea back then. Also, isn't it great to lose tools/bits inside the bumper/engine compartment when you move slightly? Best part is when it falls into the bumper and you have to snake your hand inside it, to hopefully grab it and not take the entire bumper apart.... Keep up the uploads Dakota!
Next time, take out the turbo inlet pipe for extra room with the Diverter valve. I recommend getting a bigger turbo inlet pipe and the turbo muffler delete for even more turbo noises!
If/when you can. Get on a Forge BoV, sounds like a Tie fighter when I let off the gas. I also had a TurboSmart BoV that was cool too, just went psssssh though. 😅 Also someone mentioned the ball Allen’s. 100% make the job easier!
I think I'mma go with the *do88* stuff on mine - they make a DAMN good intake for the Mk 7R. Make sure to check out the Mk 8 PCV retrofit that *datadrivenmqb* has tested - definitely worth it! Do the Mk 8 PCV before you swap out the turbo inlet pipe.
I’ve seen a few comments like this. I’m going to keep an eye on it. I’m also going to talk to ECS and see what they say about this known issue. Probably will put the dv back to stock.
@@DakotaStone I think most people get lucky and it never leaks but instead of 1 mating surface that could leak you now have 2. It’s a cool idea, and for people who don’t want to swap intakes I think it’s a decent compromise to get some sound.
@@DakotaStone haha no worries man. Also if you havnt, check out EQT for your potential tuning and turbo needs, I’m making some serious power on one of their hybrid turbos and pump gas (446whp)
I actually like the quiet sound of the golf I have a mk7.5 sportwagen and I still have the stock box on but my Intake is modified. It's restrictions on the engine you just gotta figure out what to change or remove
Hey check out the vta+ from go fast bits that one is known to cause small oil leaks! Also is that a no name esc tuning intake? Why not apr or neuspeed??
ECS Luft technik intake! I liked how the wrinkle black looked and it came in at a great cost. Apr makes great stuff too! Have an APR exhaust on the car already
I miss my 13 Mk6 gti I wanted to try out the cheap dv spacer and ended up drilling the holes a bit bigger and it sounded great with my evolution cold air intake it sounded just like your r20 mk7 now I have a 10 mk6 gti same color but instead of plaid seats like in my 13 I have leather seats in my 10, have you done an exhaust? I had an AWE cat back it loved how it sounded not to loud not to quite when needed, absolutely perfect sound if you ask me, if I did a downpipe I feel like it would have been louder but I’m also old and kinda tired of owning loud cars my WRX wagon was full tomie turbo back and up pipe and it sounded great but after a 5 hour drive it would get quite annoying not drone but just a deep brrrrrrrrrr I can’t explain it haha
Do you think VW would count the spacer against you in voiding a warranty? I mean I don't think so unless there's proof of failure but...my mk8 still has warranty
If you’re that concerned I’d keep it off. But personally, I don’t think there is anyway they could tell if you removed it and put it back to stock before service. If it was left in im sure they would void the warranty.
AYO! Thanks for being here. Hope you guys all enjoy this fun install as much as I did. More content on the Golf R on the way! Appreciate you
Return of the king 👑
@@johnpoulsen8918 Much love, thanks for watching!
My favourite sound of the turbo mod is when dakota start giggling like a toddler ❤
❤️
You gotta get one of those ball hex key sets that let's you angle the tool in a hex bolt. They're a game changer if you haven't used them before
You're 100% right
Those, and triple squares!
lol the humor music while using the flibbidy flobbidy tool was on point
😂 👏🏻

Glad you enjoyed! Losing tools in cars is like a special talent of mine
Good to see another video coming brother! Keep killing it!
Thanks Jason! You da bomb
I have the exact same intake on my mk7 gti. It sounds so good
Love the hat. I'm at Road America every summer for IMSA and either IndyCar or GT World Challenge! IMSA and GT World Challenge this year.
Check the under tray for bit.
You need 2 tools.
1. flashlights
2. Magnets
Next time, take out the turbo inlet pipe for extra room with the Diverter valve. I recommend getting a bigger turbo inlet pipe and the turbo muffler delete for even more turbo noises!
Ive dropped a couple of bits down in my engine bay. I need to fish the bastards out. Thanks for reminding me
🚗💥💨🔥all the woosh noises

LET'S GO MY DOOD!!! I'm So Pumped For This Build!!!
Flibbidy Flobbidy Tool For President 🤣
💯💪🏽💯
Hahahahaha might just use the flibbidy flobbidy tool to install everything from now on! 💪🏻
@@DakotaStone Aye... You Know? 🤣
DV spacer is just a potential leak point, mine was leaking. Intake makes enough DV noises in my humble opinion.

your narration voice is so entertaining!
Haha, appreciate it Brent! Throwin' in a little bit of a new style
when i did my mini's BOV i dropped at least 2 of those fricken bits lol however i did find one last time i did an oil change lol
Hey at least theyre coming back slowly but surely 😂
Ive got the apr pex intake on my Leon Cupra and has similar intake noise but dont have as much turbo flutter. Need to get myself a diverter valve
I really like the APR intake too! Good choice
God damn I need a intake asap

just go full i.e parts on this. It sounds amazing.
So many mods I want to do. THE LIST IS LONG
would i get these kinda sounds on my DSG GTI? Thanks btw love the car and the channel!

Turbo flutter... Sounds awesome, but can you debunk that it's not ideal?

Bro you just needed to remove the turbo inlet and then put your DV spacer on you have a ton of space
WRX owners in shambles
🫣
My god those shoes looks hella comfy😁 great sound with the filter also👌🏻
You will catch me in moccasin's around my house 90% of the time. Thanks for watching!
why not just take the turbo inlet off when doing the dv spacer?
That’s an option too. Just no one else did it in the install videos I watched lol.

Should i turbo my 7th gen Celica?
If you don't lose a bit or screw then you aren't doing it right
