Man this really brings me back to the good ole days of car RUclips. Where it wasn't about supercars or 100k dollar JDM import builds, just simple mods to humble daily driver cars. Loving this series my dude, keep up the good work!

I'd love to recommend the Diesel Geek shifter as the second half of that BFI shift knob. Also, seek a 2.5in borla exhaust system for it, because the 24v sound is unbeatable.
It has an exhaust on it right now, previous owner installed it! Absolutely love how the VR6 sounds

Wanna avoid a common rust problem on these cars? When water and debris go through the cowl (where the wipers sit), there's no way for this stuff to drain and it all winds up trapped in the bottom of the fenders right next to the doors. Remove the three bottom torx screws that hold the wheel well liners in and bend up. You'll be shocked at what's in there! Good luck Dakota!

Common W Dakota upload! Dude I could hear the panic in your voice looking for the bottom adhesive for the duck bill lol at 17:43. The shift knob looked like hell to install but man does it look way better! The leather matched perfectly! The Gud Daily Driver is coming along nicely!
Hahaha there was probably a lot of panic in my voice through out the entire episode. I'm SO stoked with the shift knob, especially after driving with it for a bit now. Really excited for you to see what's next!

Seeing you do the wing reminded me when I did the ducktail on my Cobalt. I went and bought a wingless trunk just for it, measured, drilled the holes, all to realize it sat way too far back and had to drill all new holes... You live and you learn.
Sometimes no way to know unless you try!
Biggest difference is in the small details 🚗💥💨🔥

Dakota literally never disappoints. The bfi knob is a must. I took some electrical tape around where the screws bite to help stiffen it up on the shaft (lol, that was dirty)
Don't need electric tape ..its fine without it ..
I did notice a littttteeeeee twist play in the knob but it doesn’t bother me after driving with it!
Shouldnt be too hard to find a non spoiler black trunk lid for that thing. Foam tape also works amazing for getting rid of the mk4 interior creaks

This series has been great so far brosaki. It's a refreshing change from CERTAIN PEOPLE with built FDs and ferraris, and 1500hp supras etc etc. Also, we need some more Larry Lovestein music in the mix!

But if you've been watching "car youtubers" as long as I have (and I bet you have) that stuff can get kinda jaded after a while. That's one of the reasons I still follow guys like @mightycarmods real closely too

Those BFI Shift knobs are sooo damn good. I had one in my old GTI and I loved it. So much I wish they made one for my new Ford I have.

On mine the wiring for the 3rd brake light runs to one of the tail lights (on mine it's the drivers side) and is a small plug closer to the top
The other day I was looking into getting a new shift knob for my 1.8T bug and I was looking precisely at the BFI ones. They are REALLY nice but expensive. If you add the optional 5 or 6 spd coin, its about $175 before taxes and shipping. I'll stick with the OEM one a lil' longer. 😅
I 100% hear ya. I went back and forth on it for days. Finally said screw it lol. Wanted to at least show people if it lives up to the hype!
Just get it lol iv had my black/blue Alcantara one for years now no issues..the set screws haven't let up ..a lil damn dish soap and a toothbrush cleans it up easy

There actually is still a third brake light! There is one in the wing because it covers the one in the rear windshield. Thanks for the support!

I got new side markers from Amazon for my mk4, had to dremel the plastic casing apart because it didn't come assembled with the motherboard. 1/10 wouldn't not recommend
