Love your content! I was researching for a DV or BOV for my 2012 CC (basically same engine), and I found your video. I eventually went with GFB VTA BOV spacer, because it has an additional piston in it which holds boost stronger and makes an instant boost release. The ECS one looks like just cutting holes into a spacer, which in my opinion does not justify its existence. Anyway, I thought it might be worth it for you to check out the GFB VTA BOV, and please keep posting great stuff!
Thanks so much! Please tell your friends and let’s grow this community! And I have had people refer me to the GFB one that I will probably eventually get. The ECS one was more for the sound. Never had any anticipation of performance gains. But I wanna try that one! How has it been for you?

@@John_cupra290 why cant you run both? The loss of pressure? I currently have a spacer but I am thinking about putting in the DV+, while also considering removing the spacer while I was at it.
If there was any power loss, I didn’t really notice it. I have heard people notice a loss in torque but I think with a lot of the other mods I have going on, it negates any negative effects of the DV Spacer.
Hey ! For me yes, I have a B8 A4 tip tronic, I didn’t notice it until I drove my buddies car which is the exact same one with just a stage 1, mine has an intake, custom exhaust and stage 1, and my car takes off significantly slower, with more turbo lag, and if I have it in regular drive mode and im cruising and then I floor it, it has a big amount of turbo lag and barely any torque (that used to be instantly) now I have to wait for it to build power which makes the turbocharged low end torque useless
Have been thinking about adding a spacer, however I’m worried it will cause a check engine light. Did you end up getting one after it was installed ? I would assume so because the ECM is going to be expecting the recycled boost that your now pushing out through the spacer.
I just installed this onto my mk6 gti. I noticed after that my car was stalling and feels like it’s having trouble getting power. Can It be that I installed it wrong?

Solid piece will operate without losing all that pressure and would give a better sounds and boost response… cutout slot on the spacer your losing boost pressure
Change out the oem charge pipe go with aftermarket and CAI, ecu tune, coil packs, plugs, intake manifold upgrade, list goes on. That slot cutout on the diverter valve spacer was wrongful designed it leaks pressure and it’s inconsistent boost whenever u need boost … get a GFB dv+ it holds boost and gives you boost when u accelerate when u want it …
According to ECS’s site, this will NOT work with a 2017 GLI. I tried to find the one that would but no results came up for your GLI. Sorry :( someone might know more about your application of this but a simple search should find other diverter valve spacers if you’re interested! Or even go with a DV+ from GFB if they make one for it! A lot of people love it and have been telling me to get it, which I am eventually. It’s supposed to hold more boost pressure between gear changes to keep you on the power.
DON'T do it,you're car will run rich, fuel consumption is worse I had this installed on a 1.4tsi 122hp golf mk5 If you want to hear you're turbo, install a cold air intake it's so much better
do not buy this, it causes the boost pressure to leave into the atmosphere to quick and am losing boost, almost like my turbo is nonexistent, lost so many races to this in just a week.
Sounds like it either wasn’t right or missing a gasket! But you’re not wrong; I lost 1 psi of boost with this. I ended up taking it off a few months ago.

Truth! I have heard a lot of people talk good about the DV+ though

Super late to this video but would install be the same on the Mk6.5 GLI? It’s in the same back location but have a hard time getting to it
Those wheels are the ones that look better in a corrado classic
Full cold air intake and larger diameter inlet is all I did to hear my turbo

Might not be tightened down all the way or something is creating a leak in the seal. Could even be the DV itself as those tend to fail.
