one time i told thomas on his twitch stream that i preferred the demo of chapter II over the studio version and when he asked why, i said three words: “the fucking organ”
I love how you hear different parts from songs in here that made it onto the full albums. The beginning is pretty close in style to "The Circus That Has Brought Us". Don't get me wrong, I love it, just intresting to hear similarities.
z zz actually, at this point in time when these demos were recorded, Jesse Erickson played keys for them! These were THE BEST fall of Troy concerts ever IMO.
k. i was looking for this and i found it. in april/march 07' thomas officially stated that semi-fiction is part 7 and forebodingly lost is part 6. unfortunately i dont think anyone has heard or will ever hear forebodingly lost.
@underscoreisnotvalid Ghostship 2 was released as part of the KEYS demo, it came with the original Part 1 and 5 as instrumentals. Ghostship 3 was never recorded, it was recorded from a live show introduced as Part 3. Look around on Google for Ghostship 2.
I think the demos have more character to them, if you know what I mean. You know they haven't been messed with as much as far as remastering goes. it sounds more like how they actually sound than how they sound after it's been polished. i prefer this to Phantom on the Horizon.
Personal observations and comparisons between the two versions of this song: I like the keyboard/organ in this version a lot. Quality of Thomas's singing... let's just say it got better as he went along. However, the quality of Thomas's screaming in this: Top fucking notch. Can't hear the guitar too well in this version during the verse parts, and that's a shame, since there's some nice stuff in there, as you can hear in the PTH version.
Oh whoah, what I knew was that it was the original lineup, album for each night, and stuff about the special passes.. It didn't really hint at seeing if they wanted to do more, jeez why didn't I think of twitter XD. Well let's cross our fingers and bend our strings :3
My main pal mucky D': times are so tragic man! I hope they decide to do a tour, but Thomas said that he's gonna see how things work on this three night show in Texas first. I Just really wanna see them because I've never seen 'em live before!
Oh I follow Thomas on Twitter along with some of my other favorite bands and artists. :D It's going to be the original line up for three days and I guess they're just going to see whether they want to do more stuff after that or not.
I love these demo cuts but I absolutely prefer the remake. I love the way Tom's voice changed and the refinement of his already amazing guitar playing.
@miserablerodent I personally like the singer better at times in the demos. It's like much more smoother cleans and crazier screams (PotH is much more mellow overall and the cleans don't have that tone as it did before.). I'll admit PotH is much more cleaner and I love it for that reason. But there are some things done in the demos that they cut out of PotH that I wish they didn't, for instance the organ part in this song.
look up ghostship part 2 downloads on googe, there should be a site where you can get it. i have 1 2 4 and 5 so if anyone wants any of those message me through here and ill be happy to send it to you via email.
I didn't discover them until they were already gone, so I never got the chance :/ And where did you hear that? I haven't seen many words besides the ones on Facebook :O
@irtehjoe I just wish they didn't get rid of the keyboardist... that would've been KILLER. He added so much to the music. It's a shame that it never caught on.
all this time we thought there were seven ghostships, when in reality, semi-fiction was #6 and #7 isn't real (or at least it's not going to be recorded). boy did tfot have us fooled.
I have a video of it on my page... It's only been played live two or three times, but I know a secret place where you can get around 20 seconds of a recorded version of Part 3.
Seriously I love this song, but i must admit, it isnt the prettiest vocals ever, well i like it when he is screaming and what not, but when he is saying the "ohhhhh" part, he sounds like a noob.

The ghostship demos are their best work
when he screamed "you're mine" i got the chills so hard holy fuck
I love how you hear different parts from songs in here that made it onto the full albums. The beginning is pretty close in style to "The Circus That Has Brought Us". Don't get me wrong, I love it, just intresting to hear similarities.
These demos sound sick as fuck. I love it.
I think this track is my favorite FoT song. So goddamn raw
I still prefer these demos over the re recorded album from years later.
ERAK I WILL ALWAYS LOVE U
this is probably my favorite of the ghost ships, III sounded good to live when i saw them but i wish they would have recorded that also.
Sick! you can hear them start playing around with organ in this song, something they did a lot on Manipulator :o)
z zz actually, at this point in time when these demos were recorded, Jesse Erickson played keys for them! These were THE BEST fall of Troy concerts ever IMO.
this is such an underated song

I feel the same way man!
2:06 the whispering really adds to the atmosphere of this part
why does this sound like a demo version of the demo lol
Fucking good demo lol
This is way better than chapter II...it is like the final version. Totally bluesy jam sess

people that respect the fuck out of these demos are true bros
Despite him getting 3 thumbs down, I'm gonna go ahead and completely agree with jcwkings.

Realize that the comments are like 11 years old LMAO
My main pal mucky D': times are so tragic man! I hope they decide to do a tour, but Thomas said that he's gonna see how things work on this three night show in Texas first. I Just really wanna see them because I've never seen 'em live before!
Nice.

Holy shit I wish I could understand those whispers during the bridge.

Oh I follow Thomas on Twitter along with some of my other favorite bands and artists. :D It's going to be the original line up for three days and I guess they're just going to see whether they want to do more stuff after that or not.
best chapter on Phantom.
those opening screams in macaulay mcculkin should have never been changed imo
@GREENDIVISION YES. I think that the demos are some of the best that TFOT made.
From what i heard so far, in this part, the crew is supposedly turning into cannibals... sounds like it! :D
The Fall of Troy reunion show! aaaand I'm not going... because I don't live in texas D':
@muckyukkerman Dude, you're right!!! Now that i listen closely to it!!
im confused. ive got the ghostship ep, but it only has Ghostship 1,4,5 and Macaulay McCulkin. where can i find part 2 and 3??
@CAWJonfuckingMess The beginning is actually almost the exact same riff as part of the song "Semi-Fiction" It was meant to be part VI.
I love these demo cuts but I absolutely prefer the remake. I love the way Tom's voice changed and the refinement of his already amazing guitar playing.

I didn't discover them until they were already gone, so I never got the chance :/ And where did you hear that? I haven't seen many words besides the ones on Facebook :O
part 4
besides where can you find part 3
@irtehjoe I just wish they didn't get rid of the keyboardist... that would've been KILLER. He added so much to the music. It's a shame that it never caught on.
Jesse was something else… really good piano/keys player.
all this time we thought there were seven ghostships, when in reality, semi-fiction was #6 and #7 isn't real (or at least it's not going to be recorded). boy did tfot have us fooled.

Bad Azz
@xXGreenDudeXx but this one was only 12 seconds lol
*sniff sniff* ;-;
you could speculate that, but they've never said that, plus, it makes no sense with the story line.
it's possible but doubtful.
idk.
i think thoms singing in this song makes the song so special.
i hate the singing in a strange conversation.
I have a video of it on my page...

@JustinCaparas Lol
Yeah, what?
its not worth youtube's shitty audio compression
what in the fuck
such mature music...until vocals hit
Seriously I love this song, but i must admit, it isnt the prettiest vocals ever, well i like it when he is screaming and what not, but when he is saying the "ohhhhh" part, he sounds like a noob.
