Thomas Erak’s voice in its prime was just so perfect for the genre. The perfect amount of whininess, fullness, and crisp screams that he made sounded effortless. An additional note: The fact that a song like this was conceived as early as 2004 blows my mind. “Emo” kids these days have no idea how much inspiration their favorite bands like MCR, Black Veil Brides, etc. took from a band like TFOT.
This takes me back to being a kid riding my BMX bike and remember this music was like fuel to do the impossible. This is definitely the best version! The old stuff is the best! The ending is a masterpiece! 🤟 wish these guys would come back
this version sounds so much cooler than the new one. i love phantom on the horizon but theres way too much random noise. this is just perfect. the ending is like the best part and they kinda ruined it on phantom :( but thomas' singing is way better now.
no real differences, just that these were demos when they were unsigned and not on a cd in stores. so when they signed to epitaph records, theyredid the sonds on an official cd by popular demand.
Once it hits 5:56 I start getting goosebumps. At 6:12 I have to close my eyes, it gets hard to breathe, and my eyes start tearing up. I bet watching me listen to this song would be interesting, to say the least. Effects me so much.
6:15 The over layering vocals sends chills down my spine everytime. I'm one of those people who likes Phantom on the Horizon more, but that's one part in the demo that has the remixes beat :]
The comment means that after this EP they went downhill and success got to their heads. Doppelganger did not merely get close to embodying the raw energy of this EP. And their subsequent albums were not great.
this my favorite ghostship part, if not my favorite song by them. so much emotion is put into this i love it. check out my cover of it if anyone would like to.
If you’re in the US, you should check their tour dates. I jus saw them in Pittsburgh last night, and they played the entirety of Ghostship in order, plus some classics. On a side note, I fist bumped Thomas before the show. Great night fosure.
Creo que los demos son mucho mejores que los ''rebuild'' de Phantom of the Horizon. Los Ghostship Demos tienen la calidad de un disco de estudio, y la bestialidad absoluta de sus presentaciones en vivo.
If you like TFOT check out Sunrise and Ammunition. They are a local band in Friendswood, TX they are releasing a CD soon in December. The lead singer doesn't have Thomas's voice but Sunrise's sound is based a lot around TFOT. I heard them not too long and it definitely brought me back to TFOT days.
this is 1 of there more pop sounding/easy on the ears songs. if you dont like this, i advise not listening to anything else by them other than quarter past or caught up imho, G0dOfThings
@theanimal6592 I'm not sure haha, cause thomas was born in march of 1985, but then again you could be right, i wouldn't doubtthat these were written in highschool
yeah...gonna be called something like phantom on the horizon or something like that. heard about it ages ago. im also gonna be well happy when their split EP with the number twelve looks like you comes out =) x
i really wish there was a live version of this. i know there are some but they arent really amazing quality atm. like the video and the sound are glitchy on the live versions of this cover. hope someone records an amazing live version of this soon ^_^ x
I like the new one but I like the tempo here wayyy better. And the rawness. Casey Bates, you're cool as shit, but honestly TFOT are raw as fuck when it comes to rocking out. 2:00-2:45. RADiculous. having said that Phantom on the Horizon is an epic perfection of these songs (great thanks to CB)
i have no idea where to get the self titled or ghostship demos, amazon has self titled but i say screw amazon, but wher are the albums? no store i have visited have the 2.

This song is so sick. Still one of the hardest songs I’ve ever heard
absolutely great
imo this is the best part of the ghosthip series, i could listen to it forever.
i think this is my favorite TFOT song. the words and the music just paint such an amazing picture it totally rocks my socks
This takes me back to being a kid riding my BMX bike and remember this music was like fuel to do the impossible. This is definitely the best version! The old stuff is the best! The ending is a masterpiece! 🤟 wish these guys would come back
THIS
They are back they still make records and play shows
This is what fueled my ear holes when I was on a dirt bike or a skateboard. I'm picking up what you are laying down.
Dude he plays guitar the way he does and sings at the same time, I try to imagine doing that and my brain crashes.
this version sounds so much cooler than the new one. i love phantom on the horizon but theres way too much random noise. this is just perfect. the ending is like the best part and they kinda ruined it on phantom :( but thomas' singing is way better now.
this version is 10/10. always was; still is.
All of the original recordings for the ghost ship demos sounded better than phantom on the horizon.
i wish they could put the new vocals over this one
@@jjglitch nah tbh I prefer the vocals on ghostship way more than the phantom vocals
havent listened to this song in about 5 yrs, just had a dream and this song started playing in it, woke up and had to listen to it again
haha that's sick
i so love the starting part of this song. the mood is, incredible.
fall of troy kicks ass.
i love TFoT and i play guitar. i learn there songs to get better... it works but it takes like a year to get one song down. Thomas Erak is a GOD
Fuck me, I love this song. Shivers up my spine, I swear to God. The shoot to kill part just makes me go crazy, full volume with my headphones on, haha
listen to it while playing legend of dragoon ghost ship part or during a thunderstorm.....Kwazy #Enjoi
no real differences, just that these were demos when they were unsigned and not on a cd in stores.
so when they signed to epitaph records, theyredid the sonds on an official cd by popular demand.
5:40 - 7:03 so dramatic, so epic
david rubio fucking David I knew it was you bro with the profile pic lol, best part bro best fucking part
Once it hits 5:56 I start getting goosebumps. At 6:12 I have to close my eyes, it gets hard to breathe, and my eyes start tearing up. I bet watching me listen to this song would be interesting, to say the least. Effects me so much.
ur so high bro jfjsdjods
the end of this song is epic, the part tim is screaming at the end is awsome.
If you're still listening to this in 2022 you have officially reached SS3
6:15
The over layering vocals sends chills down my spine everytime. I'm one of those people who likes Phantom on the Horizon more, but that's one part in the demo that has the remixes beat :]
Wow this is sucha great song by such a great band....best ghostship by far!!!!!!this song is perfect for snowbarding 2 ;P
the screams really help the franticness of the story during this chapter
I've said it before, I'll say it again, the ending gives me fucking chills everytime man.
Wish they went in this direction. I love Doppelganger but man everything after I just haven't been able to get into.
such an original sound... i love them
The Fall of Troy that could have been....
they've been resurrected
can't you hear the dead smile?
@@volcomstonerz new album came out a few months ago
What does this comment even mean lol....that could have been? This /doppelganger are it in terms of perfection
The comment means that after this EP they went downhill and success got to their heads. Doppelganger did not merely get close to embodying the raw energy of this EP. And their subsequent albums were not great.
my favorite is part V for sure
sickest song EVER
the breakdown! i think i just came! :D
This track always finds its way onto my Halloween mixes.
"Shoot to kill, but they just won't die!"
this my favorite ghostship part, if not my favorite song by them. so much emotion is put into this i love it.
check out my cover of it if anyone would like to.
why did Thomas change the intro for Phantom, on Ghostship it actually sounds like wind and fog on the sea? Why change the sound of the bass line?
dude its so eerie and sick i love it
favorite of all the ghostship songs
i'd pay $100 just to see tfot play the entire ghostship series.
I’d pay 500 to see them play it as long as they don’t downtune live like they usually do these days
If you’re in the US, you should check their tour dates. I jus saw them in Pittsburgh last night, and they played the entirety of Ghostship in order, plus some classics.
On a side note, I fist bumped Thomas before the show. Great night fosure.
this is the best part out of all of them that i listened to
the ending is so beautiful, it literally makes the world go round
good picture chose for the song
the chorus screaming/rapping part is the most amazing thing ever!!!
godly
crazy guitar work.
the stars scream ouutttt and spew our nammeessss
the end is amazing!
great band!
the special effects are so awesome in this, i like it.
same man...very mysterous
I miss then
Daaaaaang this rocks!
the definition of music is the fall of troy
Ghostship 4ever
I like the beat that starts at 4:00 right mintage!!
Just checked them. Instantly bought an album. Thanks for the recommendation.
I think "we better learn to hotwire a uterus" is amazing.
I luuuuuuuuuuv the reverb and echo they use on their guitars. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu
greatest bAnd evR !!
00:10 song finally starts
Such a rad intro
I'm making a piano version of this :]
I'm using the demo, not introverting conversions
because of the 3 minute difference :P
Everything is going down......
6:00..... MY GOD.
this is 1 of there more pop sounding/easy on the ears songs. if you dont like this, i advise not listening to anything else by them other than quarter past or caught up imho, G0dOfThings
@theanimal6592 I'm not sure haha, cause thomas was born in march of 1985, but then again you could be right, i wouldn't doubtthat these were written in highschool
it makes me think of Halloween
The only band I enjoy in this genre
epic band is epic
yeah...gonna be called something like phantom on the horizon or something like that.
heard about it ages ago.
im also gonna be well happy when their split EP with the number twelve looks like you comes out =)
x
i really wish there was a live version of this.
i know there are some but they arent really amazing quality atm.
like the video and the sound are glitchy on the live versions of this cover.
hope someone records an amazing live version of this soon ^_^
x
I can't wait what they'll cook up for next year. I hope it's going to be amazing, since we can see here they *have* what it takes.
There latest song sounds like a song off Manipulator to me.
Edd DoDo Latest song? What is it called?
Oliver James Untitled. Seriously look it up by that.
this would be a great intro for ghostship the movie
wow nobody commented on this video in the past 2 years
Pero que joya desde el 2010 es mi única banda favorita me encanta esta canción que ricaaaaaaaaaaa música me fascina me empepa
Can't wait to see them in late September, gonna totally lose my mind.
***** I'm going to to see them around then too, where you seeing them at?
Mediafy R stone pony in nj!
Ah,I'll be at the show in Lawrence KS. Have a good time man.
you too bro be safe
saw them in Philly, they were awesome
This is their best song and this version is better than the remake they did
great way to conclude a song
this should sound in a video game!!!!! FCKING EPIC SOUNDTRACK
nah man POTH is a masterpiece.
From 5:40 on, it's just amazing.
Somebody really needs to create a video to go along with this song... especially the ending... fucking epic.
@kh2freek I know, but the band left a mark that needs to be recognized
agreed
I like the new one but I like the tempo here wayyy better. And the rawness. Casey Bates, you're cool as shit, but honestly TFOT are raw as fuck when it comes to rocking out. 2:00-2:45. RADiculous. having said that Phantom on the Horizon is an epic perfection of these songs (great thanks to CB)
*Sheds a hardcore tear*
@ULTIMAespada well i memorize the song in like a week or 2. i just practice getting it down (practically) perfect in sections.
it is.
very jazz influenced
i have no idea where to get the self titled or ghostship demos, amazon has self titled but i say screw amazon, but wher are the albums? no store i have visited have the 2.
yea

Where'd you find the VERY first image?
wow, this song is fucking amazing.
CCCCCccccccooooooooookkkkkkkiiiiiiieeeesssss.

Too.Fucking.Epic.
how many parts are there? i know of 4
the one dislike is the captian of the ghoship XD
i cant wait for phantom of the horizon
I wouldn't say scary. I'd say more like, awesome.
I believe these were made in 04, and they are all around the same age, and thomas was born in 85 so about 19 or 20 :) you were right
best comment on youtube.
hey, was that concert in chicago? if it was i was there too. its what got me into the fall of troy too.
2020
