Been trying to share all the random outbursts of song to share with friends. I missed the chance to get verse 2 of Yuffie's random singing of her theme song in Gongonga, otherwise, been nabbing all of them.

If the stolen materia section in the third game isn't framed as a full-on music video where she sings parody lyrics to Madonna's Material Girl I'm going to be very disappointed.

Very. The EN dub is a dumpster. I’m still mad they didn’t get real subtitles and just used crappy dubtitles. I speak passable Japanese but there are still some things I don’t understand, but I know enough to know that most of the dubtitles almost never come close to matching what is being said.

This game has been painfully over-localized to the point where the characters personalities are completely different in English and aren’t the way they were written in Japanese. Barret is the worst offender but everyone is bad. Cloud is the closest to original but that’s only because he was deliberately written to be very much like a blank-slate that barely says anything so that players could self-insert a little.

Barret is extremely well loved by most people and a lot of that has to do with how great his character is. If you really need your game to be exactly the same as the Japanese, JUST PLAY THE FUCKING JAPANESE VERSION. It's genuinely so wild to me how you don't get that regardless of how similar it is to the Japanese version TONS of people still enjoy the localized version. I wouldn't even be surprised if you somehow think that the OG has better localization than either Re game

Let's take a young but strong materia hunting Ninja.... And turn her into a priss that sings cringey lines and that apparently gets seasick and spends the whole damn game whining like a little press that didn't get her way with Daddy. The more I play this game the less enthused I become about finishing it I'm already at Cosmo Canyon and I'm dragging myself to finish completing this garbage cash grab... by junon I was already bored of this game and now it Cosmo Canyon I don't even know if I want to finish it

The difference is that here she has voice acting, is way more expressive because of PS5 generation graphics, had gained some depth, and she also has more screentime.
Yuffie always had motion sickness (she's not the only one, though) and she has issues with her dad. Everybody that played the OG should know that... If you don't like the game, if you didn't play the OG or care to know anything about it, why bother to play this one? Why don't you quit already?
My brother in christ. Yuffie is 16 fucking years old. Shes a dumb kid. I genuinely appreciate that they leaned into that aspect, it makes her more believable as a character. Ive genuinely always hated the trope especially in jrpgs where there's a prodigy child that acts nothing like a child. Yuffie being both a skilled ninja and a goofy kid is endearing and its a shame you're too stuck in nostalgia over a flat optional side character to see its an improvement.
