Very. The EN dub is a dumpster. I’m still mad they didn’t get real subtitles and just used crappy dubtitles. I speak passable Japanese but there are still some things I don’t understand, but I know enough to know that most of the dubtitles almost never come close to matching what is being said.

I've nabbed most instances of random outbursts of song to share with my friend that doesn't have the game. I don't particuarly remember a humming variant, so don't think I have it.

Yeah her lyrics in japanese were: "Cho-co-bo atashi wa chocobo. Anata wa chocobo. Kimi wa chocobo". Translation: Chocobo, I'm Chocobo. You are a chocobo. you are a chocobo

Very true. The EN dub is a trash fire generally. Yuffie actually can come across as cute and endearing in the original Japanese. Especially since she was written that way in the Japanese script. The EN translators ruined her personality.

@@jaybee4288then they aren’t playing the original game with the original script. This game has been painfully over-localized to the point where the characters personalities are completely different in English and aren’t the way they were written in Japanese. Barret is the worst offender but everyone is bad. Cloud is the closest to original but that’s only because he was deliberately written to be very much like a blank-slate that barely says anything so that players could self-insert a little.

​​@@martuuk8964sorry to break it to you but there's a reason they're called "localizers" and not "translators". Barret is extremely well loved by most people and a lot of that has to do with how great his character is. If you really need your game to be exactly the same as the Japanese, JUST PLAY THE FUCKING JAPANESE VERSION. It's genuinely so wild to me how you don't get that regardless of how similar it is to the Japanese version TONS of people still enjoy the localized version. I wouldn't even be surprised if you somehow think that the OG has better localization than either Re game

In English they wrote her as an obnoxious brat which doesn’t match the Japanese at all. In Japanese she is cute and endearing with only a little pushiness.

Quit nagging, shall we? Yuffie always had sickness from traveling and she complained about it many times. And she did have issues with her dad in the OG. The difference is that here she has voice acting, is way more expressive because of PS5 generation graphics, had gained some depth, and she also has more screentime.

Yuffie always had motion sickness (she's not the only one, though) and she has issues with her dad. Everybody that played the OG should know that... If you don't like the game, if you didn't play the OG or care to know anything about it, why bother to play this one? Why don't you quit already?

My brother in christ. Yuffie is 16 fucking years old. Shes a dumb kid. I genuinely appreciate that they leaned into that aspect, it makes her more believable as a character. Ive genuinely always hated the trope especially in jrpgs where there's a prodigy child that acts nothing like a child. Yuffie being both a skilled ninja and a goofy kid is endearing and its a shame you're too stuck in nostalgia over a flat optional side character to see its an improvement.

Been trying to share all the random outbursts of song to share with friends. I missed the chance to get verse 2 of Yuffie's random singing of her theme song in Gongonga, otherwise, been nabbing all of them.

@@Rift2123 what impressed me is how the english va singing is so much better than the japanese one. which is weird for me to say, as im a kind of purist when it comes to japanese games and anime, i often go for the japanese dub. but this game va is perfect.

I actually spent the first few minutes wondering if the game was bugged, because I didn't know about the new "press lighty" thing and just kept trying to mash it like the other one. Then once I got it down I finished all of them in like, twenty minutes. Pro tip against Jules; turn off adaptive triggers in the gameplay settings. The triggers get harder to press over time, simulating the effort Tifa's putting into the workout. Trust me, your fingers will thank you for it.

I try to lightly tap it but keeps failing. I am sensing another rage minigame session.. could have made something like "kill this elite monster and we shall reward you". This crap is just rage material..

@@Novastrike85 When you say "tap" do you mean repeatedly, like when the icon is yellow? Because when the icon is green (like in the video) you're supposed to lightly HOLD the button until it's filled, then press down fully to complete it. They really need to make it more obvious that this is a thing.

I seriously hope square browses reddit and youtube for responses. Remake was perfectly fine. This is just stupid. The green inputs work about half the time I've spent 20 mins just on level 2 becahse my first green works and the second ALWAYS fails
