It's amazing how many style advisors seem to only dress their clients in neutrals that don't flatter them. Colour is especially important for women over 50 because our complexions change with age often becoming more sallow.

The only people that I find look attractive in grey is people who have gone grey. For example my partner looks absolutely handsome in dove grey because it compliments his silvery hair. And a medium to dark grey looks good imo,on people with salt and pepper grey hair.
