My entire wardrobe is consignment, thrifted, second hand, whatever you want to call it. All I know is I look fabulous, especially during the Fall/Winter months. I'm currently in Chicago where the best shops can be found. Salvation Army has a store which sells clothes and accessories by the pound @$1.29!! Absolutely marvelous period.
I found a fabulous Ralph Lauren button down tunic in wool for $15 and have it to this day! Also found a black wool cape for $3 and still have that piece!
I once found a brand new lambs wool coat that was folded in a box for ever and had the fold lines on it The best part is that is made in Paris and has an expensive label embroidered on the lining , and the price was $89,00 Whenever I wear this coat I get looks and comments it’s vintage at its best
Thrift store finds: 2 100% cashmere coats! In 1992 they were priced at $20 each. There was a beautiful solid black 100% wool coat, also $20. They fit so I grabbed all three!
Keeping color pallets simple head to toe. Use patterns to the body’s advantage. Quality costume and precious metal/stones jewelry and a basic wardrobe of nice scarves can be all the color one needs when dressing in solids like black, charcoal, beige and navy. I feel sleeker when my shoes and pants are similar in color value. Always wear makeup out
What great advise. I found my favorite neutral color changed when I decided to quit coloring my hair. My brown hair with streaks of blond went well with camel and brown. When I allowed the gray to become more prominent, at the age of 70, I went with a lot of black, but found navy blue to work better for me. It went well with my skin tones.
I often find brand new items with the tags on them for less than 80% of the original price tag. I found a beautiful pink fuzzy dress bran new for $ 5.99 and a pair of bran new white shorts for $3.99 I watch several videos on how to dress to look polish on a budget. Two women helped me me to realize that thrifting was a gold mine are Ann Maring and Iman. Ann told me to start at a thrift store since I was 18 and living at home and not yet employed. Iman did an interview once, and she was shopping for accessories for her runway fashion looks. I have save so much money on quality clothing and accessories thrifting. My favorite thrift stores are connected to community organization that help people and animals.
I bought a camel colored coat and blazer. I plan on pairing these items with a white top and blue jeans. And add all of the tips you gave us. Wow! What a classy look. I won't wear the coat and blazer at the same time. Just want to be clear.
Women don't need to look expensive...looking good at any age is about the total package. Well groomed ... hair, nails nicely manicured ... just a polished look. Clothes just need to be well put together and kept simple. And the most important thing is to be classy... some women look OK till they open their mouth.
❤ your advice is great. Thank ,you. Unfortunately, " now " is so far aways from the time when your advice was great. Now Is Polyester . And nobody donate good quality of fabrics. Thank you anyway.
Actually you can find good fabrics…you just need to look closely. You will probably not find that great fabric in a Goodwill. 1) They mark everything up a lot these days. You can buy new at Wal-mart cheaper, 2) You have a lot of resellers out there trolling the clothing aisles regularly on take-in day. Best advice…shop at a consignment store if you are serious about a very nice classic tailored wardrobe. It can be done. Learn about fabrics, pay attention to care instructions or make your clothes. Always remember to keep your shoes clean and in perfect order. It is actually one of the first 3 things people will take a look at. 😊
It's not my experience. I still find furs, wool, cashmere fabric textiles in my Goodwill, the Salvation Army and other thrift shops... although it is a hunt some days. Resells shops and consignment stores are your best bet for quality fabrics and designer items.
Please take a look at keto / carnivore lifestyle. I lost 30kg and kept it off by eating zero carbs. I went from size 22 to size 10. I'm older than you, but feel so well eating like this, and have honestly never felt better. I've been doing this for about 1 1/2 years now and will always eat like this because I feel so well and look so good. I feel decades younger. Zero carbs is a lot easier than keto because you don't have to count or measure anything and when you feel hungry you eat. You can find out about this by searching on youTube; Dr Ken Berry, Dr Anthony Chaffee, Dr Tony Hampton, Kelly Hogan, Zero Carb Life (Dave Mac), Homestead How (Kerry). All the best
Stylish sunglasses are not possible when one needs prescription glasses to see! Attractive prescription sunglasses are expensive and have to be changed every time your prescription changes. Might be different in the US but that's the story here in the UK.
Hello, I opted for large sunglass that fit over my rx glasses. They look good, comfortable and are around $20/$25. Had a number of compliments on them. Amazon
Hmmm looks like priority #1 to "looking expensive" is to be fit and healthy, with good posture. Of course, all of that requires having money for healthy foods, living in a location that is safe for walking and exercise. So, not all that easy for many people.
A person cannot “look expensive” unless their services are for sale. Objects can “look expensive” because they are bought and sold. One correct title would be “How to look wealthy.” Example: Wealthy people can afford to buy expensive clothing, jewelry, shoes and handbags. Correct use of words is a major factor when you want to present yourself as wealthy. Perhaps the author of the title does not speak English as a native l language.
Throw out the bullshit. The semantics of it all. The idea. Your thoughts are in the gutter. It is not about the difference of a person and object. I did not have to think twice about what she is saying. High-end, wealthy, expensive. What is your problem. Seems snotty.
Does a person “Look expensive or look wealthy”? If anyone wants to present themselves as wealthy they must write and speak properly the language of the country. People only “look expensive”. If they are providing their services or trade: (The plumber in the BMW looks expensive”.] Anything a person wears can❤ “look expensive” because jewelry and clothing are bought.” I am not sure why the author of the title of your video chose “expensive “ instead of “wealthy” . it is like kids who say, “I have to itch my bug bite.” They are using the wrong word.
and please ladies at that age, the long straight hair is over for you .. our granny went short hair in her late 20s she says and started a trend...think she said 1959
Beg to differ. As long as it’s well kept and you dress appropriately, which is what this video is all about, you can wear your hair as long as you wish. No need to fall in line with the sheeple.
Glad you watched 💛I added a list of products in the video description for you to check out!

I send my winter coats to a quality dry cleaner when needed, to keep them in shape. And my 20 year old cashmere blend wool coat still looks lovely!

I get very high end pieces at my thrift store . I’m also fairly good at tailoring my clothes as well .
Where do you live? 😅 I hardly find any good quality at my drift store.
You got it made!!
@@fredacharbel7510Atlanta, Chicago, Columbia Maryland and my favorite Minneapolis. Also, by the pound as well. Doesn't get any better believe me.

Yes ma'am
Second hand stores are my best friend
Just beautiful ❤
Can you give tips about how to dress for large-size ladies, with wide shoulders, big waist, but not very fat ?

Yes❤❤
I found a Burberry raincoat trench in black with no belt for one dollar
You need to advise those under 60s who always look like they are going to the gym.
I want to look young not expensive
Clothes should be well ironed. Crumpled and creased attire is a strict no-no
The Chicago gangster sport / streetwear exported worldwide killed decent grooming.
Even luxury brands fell for it .
Sheep all.
Keep up your efforts.
Super❤
Hey could we talk about shoes?
What are your thoughts on wearing high heels for over sixty?
I am fat lady kindly tell me what to wear n look smart age 60.
Tnx
probably the same items but in your size.

I did dressing that way in Europe. Now i live in Florida where is tropical whetter 😢
Can you show some dressings for Florida 😊
There is no secret, you need money 🤑
Alteration nowadays so expensive😔😔😔
I suppose that only woman who sells herself needs/wants to look expensive.
Women of other walks of life want to look elegant, beautiful, stylish.
No prints?????

Was very disappointed when I looked at new prescription sunglasses. Optician told me the the more funky modern frames not suitable for those lenses

It's the same for me. I'm very shortsighted and I cannot afford prescription sunglasses. I live in the UK too.
@@junerenfer8211 yes I opted for the same here in UK
The loafers you showed , look really cheap!
Items in the video must be ok in New York.... not so much in midwest out of "the city".

Why do you want to look expensive? I dress for comfort!!!!!

Grammar police alert!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
peux être le terme élégant serrait plus indiqué ?

Somebody needs to get over herself
There is nothing so ageing as looking expensive
So looking cheap makes you look younger...? Not for me, thanks... Looking cheap has problems that looking expensive does not.

Not really appropriate when lucing in a hot climate or when these colours do not suit you!

😏😏😏 I prefer a bun. Short hair? Never for me.
It depends on the person. I have seen ladies of a certain age rocking long hair!

My hair is very fine and thin so I can't grow It. Just had It cut and coloured at the hairdresser and it looks good but the next day it's flat.
