I’m from the South and the old money will wear a pop of a bright color, like a teal or bright pink, so I agree this is taste and maybe culture. Queen Elizabeth II loved some bright colored outfits and she looked so cute in them! The royal family is very wealthy, too.
Husband and I were discussing that today. We went to an upscale wine and dinner tasting at a restaurant a few years ago. Sat with a diverse group of couples. One couple arrived late. In their late 60s. His wife had a bohemian chic going with a colorful caftan of linen and an antique cashmere stole and Birkenstocks. He had the vibe of Jimmy Buffett, complete with teva sandals. Awesome couple. They flew into the private island airport on their own plane they owned. He was in oil and they were late arriving from the Keys. They were hilarious and absolutely charming and didnt give a fig about how they were dressed.

A lot of the colors in the video don't match the color names. As an example, the forest green section had olive greens, teals, a kelly green and even aqua while the navy blue section had a lot of royal blue mixed in.

The reason that some of these colors are tied to the rich and royalty is due to historical dye costs. The deeper the color the more expensive because it sat longer in the dye baths. Wealthy people buy expensive clothes that are meant to last for decades. These colors have been around forever and always will be. Hence old money. If you like a trend color go for it, but don’t break the bank on it. It won’t be worth the space in your closet for more than a year or two.
I have cloths from my youth and even from my mother that are 30, 40, 50 years old and still look great! Great quality clothing that is well maintained can last for decades and even maintain a beautiful vintage appeal. When I tell people that my blouse is 50 years old, they are often very surprised!
I prefer to wear colors that compliment my skintone amd hair color. Coincidentally, navy, gray, black, burgundy and white are in my palette. As well as silver, light blues, mauve and dusty pinks. I love the creams and tans, but they dont look good on me. I don't care to look wealthy. Just classic looks with a twist, and complimentary colors.
The burgundy & gray is pretty, but for the rest, I could never resign myself to wearing such dull, boring, colors. My fashion design degree, creativity demands real color.
I ĺoath navy blue. It's more boring than brown. On me at least. It makes my face so boringly Gray and gloomy. You should wear the colors that goes with your skin tones and lifts them up.
1. navy 2. camel (between beige & tan) 3. cream 4. grey 5.forest green 6. burgundy 7. muted colors.

How about Nantucket red? And, related to burgandy, oxblood.
I wear what looks good on me
*yutulu* bag is pure love
Ugh I knew she was going to say neutral colors, I love bright colors and patterns I wear things for me not for other people nor do I care what people think of me.
Forest green…..why did you have that one Kelly green item, sort of off.
No wonder I'm poor; I look crappy in most of these colors!
😂
I kinda wonder if the reason the ultra wealthy wear basic and muted colors is so they don’t attract notice & don’t get robbed. 😂😂
What colors were left out?
Funny that most people do not look good in these colors. "Ultra rich" doesn't automatically synchronise with taste and self-awareness.
It’s best to get a professional color analysis if you want to know what colors YOU look best in because not every palette can wear these colors! Confidence comes when wearing YOUR best colors!
Hi some examples of cream are actually white. Green was emerald not forest green 🍀🙏💛
Non sense - the author highlights colours such as olive, moss green as forest green & beige as Carmel
As some one mentioned even Royalty such as The late QE2 wore bold vibrant colours such as Red , Yellow and Purple with vibrant red being one of the colours that suited her to a T.
Colours of Royalty - Gold, Purple , Burgundy, Ivory ( Cream), Deep Green ( Forest /Emerald Green) & maybe Deep velvet Navy
Unfortunately I don’t suit many of those colours as they make me look washed out. Im a summer/spring colour tone.

Old mmoney styles - hand mme down wealth 🤔 What is new mmoney wearing? Isabel

Can’t beat black Elegance at a Glance
Essentially, they aren't Peacoking with loud color since they don't need to call attention to themselves. They have the goods and have no to prove anything to anyone.
Most of those girls in green 💚 were not actually wearing forest green.....not that it should matter!
❤THANKYOU Excellent Tutorial ❤
Navy.. red… lololo
Money cant by class nor taste. Its hardly surprising that the richest are concerned with their image. Hence classics, and stylists ;)
The burgundy & gray is pretty, but for the rest, I could never resign myself to wearing such dull, boring, colors. My fashion design degree, creativity demands real color.
It’s more wearing a monochrome outfit, or low contrast and no pattern.
The late queen often wore bright colours to be certain that she could be seen byy the public who came out to see her
I ĺoath navy blue. It's more boring than brown. On me at least. It makes my face so boringly Gray and gloomy. You should wear the colors that goes with your skin tones and lifts them up.
