      It works but it is just a band aid fix. Something causes this such as DNS issues.

    Thanks. This helped me eliminate the problem and restore the SQL Server to the Domain Controller.

    This worked for me! It was the first time logged on to the computer with a domain account. Are there any instances where this wouldn't work to fix that error? Or other instances when simply resetting the computer in Active Directory would be better or worse?

  • @tmucher
    @tmucher 7 лет назад +6

    or just reset the Computer in the AD "Computers"

    When I go to change back to normal domain I get an error saying "An Active Directory Domain Controller (AD DC) for the domain "cww.pep.pvt" could not be contacted.
    I have the domain name correct.

    Congratulations, you just removed the profile of the domain user from the machine. So, everything has to be reinstalled and set up again. No it's not a good solution for the issue.

    • @KmSiDevastate
      @KmSiDevastate 5 лет назад

      Uh, no, not even close. The profile remains on the computer. Don't know where you get your information from, you must be guessing.

    • @otapi
      @otapi 5 лет назад

      @@KmSiDevastate I had to remove a machine from domain due other reason once and removing the machine from the corp domain removes all the domain user's profile data. Probable this setting can be changed by the domain administrators, but that would be against the security policy of the company.
