So many people over-ride the auto-configurations and then wonder why their OBS is over-powering their computer. Doh! It really does a good job for most uses.
Great job. But now is there any Stream Deck plugin that allows us to control the volume or we have to go manually to sound and click Internal Speaker (which is a pain)
you can program streamdeck buttons to controll pretty much any PC or OBS functions, and the stream deck plus actually has dials to make it even easier.

Excellent tutorial. However, can you tell me why all I get is a black screen in the Preview? Everything else, including audio worked as you said it does. I used the wizard, I was recording gameplay, but, I must have missed something in the process. As I said, excellent tutorial, I'm sure it was my dumb-a**!

One is just as important as the other. One without the other is not much use. Thanks again for taking the time and going step by step. After playing around with this I see what you meant about naming everything. I got this installed and got sidetracked. On this computer I have a a program that captures TV and I can record the TV. Somehow, I managed to capture the TV signal and it worked really well. But I just wanted to capture videos like on you tube. Not really interested in the whole screen, Well sometimes, mainly interested in the videos that are being played. Is there a way to do this? Like I was saying about naming things is there a way to go back and rename things or am I going to have to uninstall and reinstall everything just to rename things?

@@Wildicon19 If you are using NDI I would stick with 27.2... Ours works just fine on earlier versions and I see no reason to change something that is not broken... Also want to mention, Thanks MIke for the countdown. Used it today for Church service. Pastor loved it..

When I switch scenes from my main scene (Containing: Video Capture Device , Mic and Webcam) to other scenes. The audio from my main scene is still heard in in all other scenes.. Is there a way to make it so its just you on webcam taking up the screen. For example switching to just you for talking etc then switch to the desktop or desktop with small webcame in bottom right corner? How would you do that?

Hello and thank you. Okay so you said to pause and make a comment. First off, I am a 100% brand new user of OBS. So, I have only played with it for a few hours and currently got frustrated because it recorded everything, and I heard everything through my head set, but on “Reply” there was no volume on the game on the first try, then really, really Low volume on the second try, then on the third experiment it was just a bust all together. But here goes…. I have a question, let’s say after I experimented with different settings, and x, y and z and or this that and the other thing, I make a boo boo and make a decision on starting from scratch instead of trying to figure out what I messed up or want to fix or change but instead just want to Re-start from scratch. Start all over with not selection no settings and re-do my set up. How do you start all over? Start from scratch. Could you if you have not already, make a video purposely messing up something and then showing not just me but maybe others like me how to start all over? I think I might have stumbled onto it already, but not really sure. I tried clicking on the “Profile” tab and the “Scene Collection” tab to see if there was an option to start a “New Project”. Okay there, that is the terminology I wanted to use above. How would a person “Start a New Project” from scratch? I think that should cover it. Okay, well hopefully you or someone in this awesome community of helping others, I can learn. I like learning. LOL, wow, okay so I just watched the entire video and well, I think it answered the above. hi, I do live streams for church with OBS or Prizm. I do 1080p 60 fps, when I look at it on my pc it looks very crisp, but when I look at it on my smart tv it looks terrible fuzzy. Any suggestions?

The new update fixed that I went from using 92%cpu to record now I use about 8% huge difference for lower powered machines

Hey, I can't record what's happening on my desktop even after adding Display capture. I can only see a blank screen. What should I do?

Are you using a Mac? I had another used mention a black screen preview reciently.

Recording settings are not proper in some way. usually the recording location does not exist.

Thanks Mike. I'm using version 27.2 for streaming with NDI. Really like NDI for our purpose. I have not check yet will 29.2 run the NDI plugin..?
If you use ndi I would stay put for now. I have seen nothing but complaints about it with 29.

working on a iMac and when trying to add Audio Output Capture, no devices appear in the Properties window. Any advice?
