I'm definitely not a big built guy but I pull 75 ibs with the elbow up and bow arm raised a little. Kind of a wedge technique. seems to me there's a lot less shoulder movement under pressure. Totally agree with working up to what you want to shoot though.

See so many guys go right back to ripping 70 after 8 months off. Can be pretty rough on the arm and accuracy to get frustrated

good tip. but if your worried about shoulder injury's why dont you draw with your elbow up instead of dropping it? it puts way more tension on your shoulders like that

It actually doesn’t. I practice chiropractic with a certifications in extremities. It’s not less straining with the elbow pointed up that compresses the rotator cuff under load inside the glenohumeral socket i don’t know where the myth comes from the socket is under less strain with the elbow flared i see that everywhere.

DIY Hunter ok. I personally feel that it locks up my shoulder when I try drawing like that. Regardless tho you know more about that than I do i guess. One more argument for drawing with elbow straight back instead of down is still lack of movement. You can go right into anchor while if u drop your elbow your gonna have to make a knot her move to bring it up n settle into anchor. Just tryin to help out everyone’s got there ways they like.

@@3VDM yeah. It’s definitely not less stressful going high elbow then down. But also. I don’t push pull either if you notice the front arm never really moves which i did since young for less
movement but a repaired shoulder forces a low draw 😂

@@DIYHunter haha ya thats what i hear alot, whenever people have shoulder surgery and such they always draw low. either way as long as you find what works good for you thats most important. goodluck this season!

Turning bow up and down in poundage can throw it out of time and tune, it happened to me snd I was doing quarter turns that’s why o don’t even mess with it now. It’s like 64 and staying there

It really rarely does. But yea if your arrows aren’t correct or bow isn’t to spec perfectly It can. That’s why you have to know if it’s not shooting in tune it’s pretty easy to tell
