    I have the Takomo 201 model and can say they are hands down the best irons ive ever hit... and thats coming from someone who played mizuno before. Great company

    I've built lots of clubs over the years for me and my friends, and I think you cut zero corners and do a thoroughly professional job. I've heard nothing but good things about Tacomo.

    I have a set of these 101 irons arriving Monday but they were back ordered on the KBs light shafts so these will be KBS tours and I am 80 years old with recent heart surgery and I'm concerned about being able to hit now. In retrospect I could have ordered the heads only and some pulled shafts off eBay. I also thought they were forged but the 201 are the forged. more of a players loft.

      The hollow body will give more spring off the face and should work well

    Wow, first commenter. Nice B to B Jim. Really like watching these. If I order a set of D9 Forged maybe you could video those. 🙂

    As a fellow lefty I reached out to takomo, means forged in Finnish, and they said lefty 201 coming this spring!

      Me too! The wedges should also come in lefty in Q1. Cross my fingers. Switched my TaylorMade irons for the 101's and I haven't had a single regret. So much iron for so little money.

    I enjoyed your presentation on club building and the detailed steps you follow. My question is: I was fitted with my current clubs by an experienced fitted who recommended 2 degrees flat and 1/2 inch short for the shaft. When I emailed Takomo, they recommended 3 degrees flat. Not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

    I mistakenly ordered a left hand set of 201 heads (oddly enough, the default for the heads only on the Takomo web site). They sent me return instructions, but I remembered you said you weren't interested in Takomo because they didn't ave left hand. I'm in the Chicago area and thought you might like to try them out.

      thank you for the offer but I am good with my current set up. although I would like them to send a 6 iron for testing.

    Takomo 101 irons are cast and the 201 are forged, and the company itself is based in Finland.

    And just a little background... they are out of Hiroshima japan... not sure on the 101 but the 201 uses the s20c forging which i believe is the same as Miura uses.

      I bought a set of these and they shipped from Hong Kong. Nice clubs .. 30 degree 7 then gapped accordingly.

    Hi Jim. Still like these tokomo clubs….if you build a set would you be able to change the loft. And if you did does that change much about the overall club. Thanks

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад

      I can change the lofts but only slightly if the black is used.and it would change the bounce the same amount

    You gonna give these a wack ? Curious about what you think of these rather economical irons

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  2 года назад +1

      I did give them a run. The feel was very nice and direction was right on, I just didn’t get them out as far as I would have liked

    Did you find the heads were .370 parallel? My club fitter said they are .355 ?

      Your fitter is wrong, they’re .370

    What are the lightest iron heads mens or womens. I had my right arm reattached I had been playing D3D4 swing weight it hurt my right arm and wrist recently tried C9 much better I was just wondering if I go even lighter if I could even play better my handicap is 1.9 I have a very good short game.7i 371/2”

      Glad to hear you are doing better. Mizuno makes weighted head one model lighter and one heavier. If you like a certain model the SW can be modified by using a lighter shaft or heavier grip

  • @kenturner4974
    @kenturner4974 2 года назад

    Hi, just new to your channel(as in tonight, loving the club building content), when you weigh the grips, do you put the heavier ones on the lower irons i.e. 4iron or vise versa? Cheers

    • @ImDudePlayinADude
      @ImDudePlayinADude 2 года назад

      I'm pretty sure in another video he said the lightest grip, shaft and head go together and so on ending with all the heaviest pieces together. And from a few videos it looks like long irons tended to be heavier.
      I just found this channel a couple days ago, and I think he explained that in a video about frequency matching.

    when you read the specs they said +1/2 . When you built them you said +1" . I hope you caught this before you sent them out

    • @robinmccleery3968

      I can answer that. Specs we’re +1/2”. Customer requested 1”. Thanks.
