I respect how the entire sequence with Aki just living his quiet morning life and Denji waking up late and stuff is just as well-animated as the combat scenes. Just look at Aki sitting down with a newspaper. That shit's all handdrawn by the looks of it. If another show was doing that it would just cut to a frame of him waking up, a few frames of him doing laundry, and it would cut to him already sitting down and maybe animate him sipping a coffee. But nah, this show is built different. It animates every single frame of that just to make you feel that quiet morning life for a bit.
A recurring theme I noticed here is about dreams, big or small. Denji wants to grab some tits, Aki wants revenge for his family, Power wants go protect her cat companion, and even the Leech and Bat Devil aspired for something: devour all of humanity. Regarding of the weight of those goals, the significance and drive for them is still very much similar amongst their respective owners. Even through the chaos and hilarity, CSM does highlight its subtle yet important themes imho.
Going against expectations and getting better and better are the two things about ChainSaw man you can count on, in this first 12-ep season we're just gonna scratch the surface. The stuff that happens in the later parts of the first arc is just insane.

Power has issues, but most of her issues are right there where you can see them and she seems like the type who can be housebroken. Makima on the other hand, she's a manipulator, and you know she's not changing for anyone.
Going for power is like adopting a cat. You can love her, but she wont give you love and confidence like that, if she dont want to or if you're not doing anything to deserve it. Going for makima is becoming a dog. Youre gonna love her unconditionnaly, and can only bark and obey hoping to please her in some way, while she will still treat you like his animal.

It looks like it’s just frenetic, over the top action & paper-thin characters at first glance, but they keep slipping in moments that suggest that there’s a lot more going on beneath the surface. I’m unfamiliar with the franchise, but I suspect that the creators are trying to convince the audience to drop its guard. It feels like there’s a deeper story hiding around the corner waiting to pop out and clock us in the jaw when we least expect it. It’s obvious that there’s also lot more depth to these characters than is being overtly spelled out. I’m hooked; and looking forward to seeing where this story goes! Hell; I think I’m going to check out the Manga!
Another manga reader here, you've got a keen narrative eye! Anime are creative and have cool worldbuilding and ofc inherently boast great animation but of all the manga I've read the character development and writing that goes into chainsaw man will blow everyone away. Keep watching

What I find interesting is that Aki and his group were conveniently there as soon as Denji lost- My headcannon is that Aki waited to see what Denji could do because he never saw his full form or what Denji could do. I think upon realizing the Denji CAN fight and won't stay down showed Aki that Denji has potential
About the guy in the car that Denji threw... Denji said "I don't care about saving some dude!" - He was saying that because he was male... * He did save a guy before that though... but maybe that was just to save his daughter?
Sometimes when people use effects to punch at certain moments of dialogue/conversation the effects come in early or late. Everything in this video (and the episode 5 reaction) were simultaneous, like they were part of the real time recording, it was beautiful.

Bleach is good, but the plot holes in the story and sudden unexplained power increases keep me from enjoying it too much. Same thing prob gonna happen few eps into the new arc
