- This is Part 3 of a 3-part video series I've created that documents the detail steps it takes to convert an Arcade1UP Cabinet based on a Vertical Monitor (such as SPACE INVADERS) to use the iCade 60-in-1 board. This board contains many of the CLASSIC video arcade games from the 80s! This is also referred to as a MultiCade board.
Part 3 focuses on how to install the POWER SUPPLY, the AMPLIFIER, the POWER PLUG and the actual 60-in-1 Board.
Some of the Classic Vertical Arcade Games included on the 60-in-1 board:
1) Ms Pac-Man
2) Pac-Man
3) Galage
4) Frogger
5) Dig Dug
6) Burger Time
7) Donkey Kong
8) Space Invaders
9) Centipede
11) New Rally-X
12) Scramble
13) Zaxxon
14) Phoenix
15) 1942
16) 1943: Battle of Midway
17) 1943: Kai
18) Time Pilot
19) Arkanoid
20) Super Breakout

The new panel really pops
This was great. Extremely thorough.
I've got a couple old cabinets I need to upgrade. Should probably change out the ancient monitors 1st. The multi boards look like fun...need to look into getting one of those. Fun instructional vid.
like it getting one to build me a cabinet just for this
Nice video series. I like the power switch with the filter built in. I'm planning a similar build and liked seeing a different approach. I missed how you handled coining up the game. I had a friend laser cut a J panel in a similar fashion, but used those 2 buttons for coins. Did you set the 60in1 to freeplay? Thanks!
My cab is set to Free Play. In the segment where I hook the Orange & Red wires to the Test & Service buttons there is a Green wire in that sub-harness loom - it is the “Coin” switch wire that you would use for coin / credits. I think green wire is P1 Coin & this JAMMA harness did not have a wire for P2 Coin (that would need to be added - see my 19-in-1 video on how I added a wire to that JAMMA harness).
Great video.
With the new panel what did you do with the On/Off and Vol buttons that used to be available on the old factory install panel?
Could a track ball be put in? would there be wires for it? thanks
Yes. 4 games can be played with a Joystick 🕹 or Track Ball - Centipede, Millipede, Arkanoid, Super Breakout. The JAMMA harness is setup to accept a Trackball. Google to see which Trackball devices work with 60-in-1 board + JAMMA harness as u have options.
Hi my Jamma which I did not install yet has a -5vdc do I hook that up ? have pacman arcade 1up 8:1 edition or leave it disconected for now
U need a power supply that provides 12V and 5V to the Jamma harness.
I think the new control panel looks better, however I cant tell from the video how close does the color of the T-molding on the new panel match the cabinet?
Cabinet tape is light Orange. Marquee letting is Yellow. Side Panel has Orange Earth graphics & Yellow lettering. Control Panel T-Moulding is Yellow. It looks good. If I did it again I “might” choose the Orange T-Moulding and use an Orange Button instead of Yellow for S2.
I just finished a build, can u tell me which order the wires from the power supply (I have the same colored power wires red blue yellow)
In what order do they go on emi filter.
Thanku
In my 19-in-1 Board video series...check out Part 4. Around the 24:30 mark I discuss the wiring of the Plug with the 3 wires (Brown-Blue-Yellow) + plug Pigtails (White/Neutral and Black/Hot). At the 24:55 mark I show a wiring diagram for the Plug which indicates where all of the wires + pigtails should be connected.
Is it possible to do this with an Arcade1Up Countercade?
Yep, I did it to my Galaga Countercade. DIY Retro Arcade sells the entire kit for Gen 1 and Gen 2 Countercades, it includes the board and all the buttons and the joystick, the wiring harness, etc. All you have to buy additionally are the LCD driver and the power cord, and DIY sells those too, just separately. They also have a 51 minute instructional video to show you how to make everything fit inside such a small cabinet.
How much is one of these machine already modded?
It varies greatly. Keep check FaceBook Market Place as that's where they seem to show up "For Sale".
Just put in a super console x and have virtually every game made from the 70s 80s and 90s.
To avoid any mistakes it would have been nice to see how you wired the EMI filter. Do you have to do any voltage adjustments to the PS and if you use a power strip instead of EMI filter can you use the original PCB power cord to power controller board?
My 19-in-1 Video series covers how to connect the wires to the back of the Plug for the ON/OFF switch that I installed on the back of the cabinet. Video #4...around the 24:00 mark. I did not have to do any adjustments to my Power Supplies...however...I think there is a Screw (white/plastic?) that you turn to adjust the Voltage.
