I would 1000% watch a 3hr video on the Mayans!! I wish there was more interest in Mesoamerican and South American historical cultures. Thank you for the time and passion you shared with us over this important, too often overlooked, part of human history.

THANK YOU for this video!! I am Guatemalan living in here in Guatemala and its such a blessing learning and connecting every day with my ancestors and mayan practices and spirituality. I find it fascinating and NOBODY talks about it in the witchy community. I love your enthusiasm in learning about new cultures. If you have any books or resources about mayan occultism or spirituality please let me know, you are so culturally diverse in your knowledge and im always in the lookout for new things to learn! Thank you once again for shining a light into my culture

I live in a tropical climate and that is also the energy that I sense. It’s primal/raw/ uncultured/ pristine/ ancient (trying to find the right words) but unbelievably powerful. It feels feminine to me. I like to do one particular guided meditation and this person always senses Mother Earth as a warm feeling of mama love. When I connect there is no warm fuzzy mama love energy there. It’s a different feminine energy. But it’s not only the earth, the forest also doesn’t feel “kind.” Especially when I compare it to the US and European countries. No one understands me when I tell them what I sense, so I’m delighted hearing your observations.

I fully understand. People forget that nature is not only nurturing and 'motherly' it's also wild, destructive and dangerous.

Ivy can I just say how impressive it is that you do such a good job at structured informational videos, but also interviews, but ALSO vlogs?! I really enjoyed this blog. and totally get why you decided to cut out the 20 min post cave stream of consciousness, but just wanted to let you know that I think lots of people would be very welcoming and happy to hear anything more emotional if you ever felt like you wanted to share. That said I know the internet can be awful + short attention spans so always do what’s best for you ❤

This was lovely and I'm in the "longer videos are cool" camp. My theory on plant energy is that a lot of it has to do with their relationship to water. I grew up where the border of Texas and Louisiana meets the Gulf Coast around lots of marsh, swamp, and bayou land and the plants there tend to have a "heavier" energy than the pines and oaks found more up North. I suspect that plants that have to constantly process lots of water tend to have this feel to them. Also, the area I live in is subtropical, not fully tropical, but we have very brief winters so the plants here don't really go into a "shut down" mode of retreat or hibernation and I think that flavors their energy as well. I've only ever lived in a place with "real" winters for one season and was very stunned at how the plants withdrew their energy during that time. The sun and water cycles of a place seem to determine the behavior and energy of plants in an area, in my experience.

Welcome home! I love all your videos and this one is superb. Wow, Belize City has changed a lot since I was there, but that was 1977 so not surprising really. The rainforest is still beautiful and that's what counts for me. That powerful low frequency energy is exactly what I recall feeling there, and it's a powerful part I think or perhaps a harmonic of Earth's energy which I absorb intentionally in meditation. The celestial bodies giving me their energy at those times sound higher frequency choral notes, and Earth's energy comes at a powerful, strong, low frequency. It doesn't surprise me that Earth's rainforests are the places on her surface where her song is felt most clearly.

I had no idea there were so many different Mayan languages! I didn't know Tikal was so big either. I have to finish watching later tonight but I can't wait. It blows my mind the distances that stuff was traded way back when. What a trip! So jealous! I had trouble connecting to the energy at Stonehenge when I visited like a decade or so ago. Hi Ivy, thanks for sharing with us this beautiful holiday of yours. It is definitely a trip that my husband and I would love to go on one day soon. About the thing you said where the tropical forest has this low and deep guttural energy… so I live in hot tropical Singapore and it is very humid here. Due to this high-level of humidity, the “ turnover” time of plants and creatures is just as high, therefore there is a thick layer of decay, fungi, and underground living things moving about, which is a very integral part of the ecosystem. So in witchcraft sense, there is a huge necromantic energy, mixed with fresh, living energy and with the heat thrown in, a tropical forest is a sorcerer’s playground because it has all four elements.

Glad you and Mr. Corvus are back safe! Belize looks incredible! It has been on my bucket list for a while. That boat trip through the caves looked spectacular! Tikal is added now for sure! Sorry that you got sick. I'm glad it was near the end of the trip. Fresh garlic and ginger root can usually be found in stores and markets all over. Ginger is a great expectorant and diaphoretic, also anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial . Great as a tea. I used ginger candies on a long bus trip through the mountains of Costa Rica for car sickness. It worked!

Yes, I love ginger!!! It was really interesting because all the grocery stores we visited only had canned food and rotting fruit. Ivy - Thank you! Thank you for sharing the beauty and intelligance that is the Mayan Culture. I truly appreicate you sharing the fact that it was an honor for people to give themselves for better of community. The Mayans are forgotten when it comes to their knowledge, their Goddess, Goddess, their knowledge of the land, the medicine the land offers, and they were amazing astrologists. I think that the energy you may have experienced in the jungle was balance and haramony. The people knew that balance was essential - and that everything was connected and honored. Again, thank you so much for sharing your experiences and the wisdom of this beautiful culture. (Although I couldn't take in the image on the coconut shell you shared but It's propbably Ixchel, the moon goddess) 🙏

This was awesome! I love the history of the Maya. I think we have to remember their practices may been seen as barbaric now by modern standards, but a lot of that came from the interpretation of the invaders. Like you said, their sacrifice was for the survival of their people. Strange isn’t it how we see the gladiators in Rome as romanticised and yet other cultures are seen as barbaric🤷🏻‍♀️
It may have been some kind of water spirit, the cenotes are believed to be protected because they were entrances to the underworld. Plus these were the places people found water naturally, most of the structured pools were man made to catch the water.
Just a weird note about the star apple; one of Venus’ symbols is the 7 pointed star and she also has associations with apples! Perhaps she was saying Thankyou to you for honouring her 🥰
I’m in the uk, but on national geographic on Disney + there are a couple shows by a guy called Albert Lim. He explores a lot of Mayan cities and parts that are still being excavated. They are really worth a watch.

Just found this video & glad you enjoyed Tikal Guatemala & Belize. I went to Exactly the same places as you did but a lot more of Guatemala. I was lucky enough to go 45 years ago. It was breathtaking ! The energy in Tikal is like nothing I had experienced at the time. I can't believe what it looks like now. Such a shame. So completely different. I am surprised As a witch you disregarded Mercury retrogrades energy & decided to travel to a third world country no less. You definitely should have used a travel agent. I'm so glad that you had a good trip anyway.

Now I wonder what it looked like 45 years ago! Our tour guide mentioned that 90% of the temples and remains are still underground and they are working to excavate it all up to the surface. I wonder if more was buried underground back then? Anyways, thank you so much! As I mentioned in the video, unfortunately this was the only time we could travel out of the country. It was either go to Belize now, or maybe not at all. We knew Mercury was in retrograde but that didn't stop us from having the trip of our lives! I usually don't let Mercury retrograde run my life, I just take extra precautions and understand that there will probably be delays and miscommunications. It's all good. ☺️ Also, we definitely didn't need a travel agency. Our trip was amazing! The only issue we had was with the rental car but that was my mistake. Out of all my international travels, I've never had a car rental that I wasn't allowed to drive across borders so that was on me - I just assumed it would be the same as everywhere else I've traveled. Nonetheless, it was a fantastic trip! ❤️

@@IvyTheOccultist I'm sorry I forgot to explain I was a travel agent & owner for 45 years. I was invited by the Guatemalan government & I went during Guatemala's civil war. That was interesting. You must go back to Guatemala.. you didn't even get to see Antigua, the lake or the mountains. Or make day trips to Copan Honduras.
