This discussion deeply resonates with my own experience as I have of late experienced multiple levels of simultaneous synchronicities, layer upon layer upon layer, so entertwined that even I am often challenged with acknowledging the objective reality of such multilayered co-occuring interconnectedness. I will point out that I am both a prior PsyD. candidate at the California Institute of Integral Studies and have been a mental health professional for over two decades. I am well aware of the clear distinctions between delusional and anomolous experiences as I am of correlations which also exist. These intermittent events leave me utterly dumbfounded as well as deeply moved.

I have been following the field of parapsychology as a layman for most of my life as well as more esoteric disciplines and phenomena, so Jeffrey Mishlove interviewing Dean Radin was a real treat. I have recently finished reading Real Magic and catching up on Deans experimental work and I think he's really onto something, especially regarding pushing back established dogma / taboos in academia and research. Many thanks for all the work that goes into this channel, keep up the good work.
I had a 2 week period of an asburd number of synchronicities that cemented by believe in 'weirdness'. But I was struck with how mundane the synchronicites became by the end, as if some part of me stopped caring about their significance. Meanwhile I would have given my right leg to have such confirmations occur at other points in my life.
When meditating regularly this happens to me as well. I log my synchronicities, looking back at them is astounding; the frequency of them. When it's happening on real time it's very cool. Then I do kind of take them for granted.
Thank you Jeffrey for this great interview. The advances done in these fringe fields are so exciting! Now my advice: people... get the Real Magic book! I've found it life-altering in the greatest sense.

The difference between white and black magic is that you end spells with it being for the highest good to all and with harm to none leaving the Real Magic to the Creator. Magic requires disciplined practices which equally align you with your goals. The spiritual growth and connection allows the Universe to see your dreams!
Fascinating. The encounter with the two gentlemen discussed at the onset of the interview, sounds like a ‘waking dream’ occurred in the waking state. Which then would be more enlightening to understand the content of what just occurred from analyzing, like a dream, the metaphors being shown by the higher self to understand fully what just occurred. From my metaphysical understanding of the nature of realities, many years as a TM meditator and Transpersonal Therapist and Hypnotherapist; the collaboration did happen. But in had happened in the etheric plane or realm via the meditation/manifestation, perhaps some destiny (4 points of the compass) sprinkled in as well leading to the empirical evidence which was proved that it had happened once the two gentlemen had meet face to face. the brain is very limited in its understanding. Where as the imagination has access to other realms of thought, creativity and ways in which to break free from the limiting beliefs that we have of the notion that things need to go a certain way. when the universe unfolds a synergistic, delicious encounter rather than; grappling with the rational minds notion of what just happened it is important to STRETCH the imagination interpret the metaphors being reveling in the moment, just like a waking dream and then assess what did occur 'outside' the box of the limiting beliefs that get us stuck in missing the opportunity to ascend to a higher level of consciousness and from the vantage point explore what just occurred. Trusting that everything is in divine and perfect order. Our higher self will deliver what we are seeking but it will manifest in the material realm in another way sometimes. Appearing in another form but we get what we need NOT what we (the ego) want. therefore it is important not to assume our human brain has the answers but be open to our enlightened higher self to 'show us the way' via our imagination and explore with an open mind the miraculous way in which something manifested and reassess ones perception by raising consciousness at higher levels of thought accessed via other dimensions beyond the illusion of 3D. Then deduce from that higher level of consciousnesses, what just occurred and extrapolate the meaning unfolding an enlighten understanding which then raises ones consciousness to understand once again, we are all One, not that "free will" precludes the Oneness understanding. In summery, the notion that the collaboration had then not been pursued after the physical meeting missed the whole point that the collaboration had already taken place in another dimension. Hence, It was the rational mind presupposing that the two gentlemen were supposed to meet and collaborate in the physical. This experience seems to also reflect the ability to mental telepathy communicate, perhaps even remote viewing and law of attraction. Metaphorically, the relevance of the '4', is the meaning of coming full circle or also you are at the 4 points of the compass; which could also infer destiny.
Dean mentions that even expert meditators’ minds wander very quickly. What could be helpful is to use people who practice authentic ninjutsu. We are expert at short bursts of intention. We train it often especially at the more advanced levels. Just a thought.
Great video Jeffrey, quite fascinating. Not being familiar with the literature on the subject, I wondered if someone could perhaps help answer a question I had. Essentially when talking about the types of magical acts, specifically manifestation, I wondered if there is a counter practice centred on making things disappear? I'm aware of claims where healers have cured conditions leaving no trace of their former condition but wondered if this is achieved by intending to make the thing in question disappear or whether they seek to transform the thing or even manifest something that eradicates the thing in question. I know from a physics standpoint it is believed that energy cannot be destroyed but merely transformed. Thus, perhaps intention for transformation may be the logical approach. Any comments on this would be are most welcome.

Maybe synchronicity happens when the "free will" of two or more aligns,then"magic" happens...but there must be the "agreement" of the alignment for the fate to of 2 to intertwine....??
I know what he means by "not having the effect you'd think it would" when it comes to big paranormal events. We once had little kid-like voices laughing at us from a woods in Gregory Michigan. These little creatures had total control over our flashlights, and every time we shined them at the spot the little voices came from...the flashlights died! And they would laugh even harder. A near by shed door started to rattle and when we turned to look at the house...it looked further away than it should have. Now if that happened tonight, I'm pretty sure I'd be up all night talking about it. But no, back then we went in and went right to sleep after this. Like it was no big deal. lol
For an excellent movie that tells a great story about the use of Magick, see "A Dark Song" which came out in 2016. (But don't look it up on Wiki, because Wiki literally gives the whole story away, and it's SO much better to see the whole story unfold without knowing what is going to happen).

So this is my testimony about getting back into the church after 10 years of being out of it. For awhile I was an atheist and then an agnostic, however, God delivered me out of a difficult and strange period of my life that left me without doubt of His existence and goodness. It's a bit of a long read, so bear with me. A couple weeks into February of 2018 I experienced some dreams of a strange nature during a time where I was isolated, depressed, and desperate. I've dealt with anxiety and depression for along time and I was at the end of my rope. I had considered seriously commiting suicide two years ago and when the depression hit this time I couldn't take it anymore. I was searching desperately for something that would allow me to leave the situation I was in. I was addicted to gaming and was very isolated. I also fell heavily into a series of books I was re-reading at the time that I had a great obsession with, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King. A few months into a reread of this series I had a dreams in February 2018 one of which I think was prophetic, having to do with seeing a woman and man in the dream that I later saw the next day while walking and while watching TV. This was a man and woman that I hadn't met or seen before.There were also aspects of the dreams (which I can't easily get into because it's difficult to explain due to the content) that led me to believe that The Dark Tower series having to do with parallel universes was real. I became convinced that there was a world parallel to ours, like the books, that I could gain access to if I used certain objects that I had in my possession . After weird events also began occuring in my home, with my television, and with me, I told my parents about all of it. They were adamant that what I was experiencing was demonic deception and that I should cease reading these books and give myself over to God. Being stubborn and delusional I decided to continue in what I thought was a great discovery and a way out of my situation. Events transpired over the next few days that left me in a state of confusion and despair. My father also ended up in the hospital that week. It wasn't until I began to cry out to Jesus that things began to change. I began to hear from God during this time. I felt like I should rid myself of the books as well as the stuff I had gathered connected to them. I eventually ended up getting rid of all the books and objects connected to them, as well as a lot of other stuff including my games. We were doing some work in my room at the time so luckily I had something to help keep my mind off what had been happening as well as grow in the word from listening to 107.9 on my radio. When we finally returned to church a couple weeks later the sermon and series was about the book of Daniel, some of which has to do with prophetic dreams and visions among other things. I know now that this wasn't a coincidence. Once I started getting involved in the church again and reading the Bible I found out that these things really aren't as uncommon or unbelievable as they seem. My mens bible study at the time had members that had experienced supernatural and amazing things as well. I know this isn't going to sound credible if you aren't a Christian. Back when I didn't believe, these stories didn't seem compelling or true to me. However I can tell you that if you reach out to God wholeheartedly he will reveal himself to you. I'd like to ask that if you're going through something right now, some kind of challenge or difficulty that you reach out to God and ask him to help you. Sometimes it may not seem like anything is happening, but if you're willing to hold on and push through you can see him move in your situation in miraculous ways. I love what Dr. Radin is up to, and I do wish he would write his next book on practical magic, and not leave it in the hands of law of attraction authors ;) This said, I can't really buy into his free will argument. The first problem is that if magic CAN work that way...in other words, by influencing multiple other free wills, then it is almost certainly doing so now, and if we bring in unconscious action, it is probably happening every day, all over the world. Taken in that context, an instruction "not to interfere with someone's free will" is unlikely to have any effect. If this is something that nature does, then nature will keep on doing it, regardless of our wishes on the matter. The more serious problem concerns the suspicious nature of free will itself. If we take the idea of One Consciousness seriously, then how authentic multiple wills come into existence becomes a really difficult problem. One can fudge it, but the problem is real, and can't just be dismissed. It looks to me a lot more like independent wills (like independent selves) are a level of fiction...something we have really invented, and that the deeper truth is that it's the same will acting everywhere. If there really were multiple wills, then almost all magic, and possibly actually ALL magic, would become "black" because the process would involve the manipulation of other wills, even nonhuman ones inside so-called inainimate systems (which cannot really exist if all is consciousness). But this way of picturing things (innumerable independent wills) just doesn't work very well, imo, and we can see it in Dean's own example. Whose "will" caused this event to manifest? Was it Dean's? Was it the man in the adjacent office? Was it one of the other four people on Dean's team? What determined who was victorious in the kung fu of wills? It's not a very plausible picture. And when we notice that Dean himself had no awareness of any such "kung fu" or anyone manipulating him inside his head, the suspicion grows stronger. His actions and movements were a function of the same "will" that orchestrated the synchronicity as a top-level pattern. He didn't feel anyone manipulating inside his head, because there wasn't anyone. I don't think that personal free will has much to do with the way that magic/manifestations happen, but I do think that we have a human desire to import our species ethics into the workings of natural principles. Yet so called Black Magic obviously works just fine, or at least as well as any other supposed kind, otherwise it would have died out from all the cultures it is expressed across, long ago. Things don't survive that don't work.
I wish he would go back and talk to that guy. The one who had the office.. Something great would have come of that. If not great, significant to say the least.
Newbie question: Can someone please define the term "esoteric" relative to the way Dr Mishlove uses it here? I'm afraid I've don't understand that word the same way. Thanks.
I thought the point about physicalism's being 'alive and well' was a good one. Now it is still up to us to figure out how to demonstrate the more fundamental level of awareness. Is it ever to be cloistered in the Knowing of the Subjective, or is there a way to look from the physicalist point of view and see the reality of the deeper level(s)? So far, it seems that psi research has given us an intuitive glimpse (but as Dr. Radin says, we don't know what it is that is happening.)
I'm wondering if the problem of interfering in 'free will' could be bypassed by thinking of Dr Radin's experience as mere coincidence, but still a coincidence where two free individuals attracted their individual desires out of an infinity of life experiences? A multiverse?

From my metaphysical understanding of the nature of realities, many years as a TM meditator and Transpersonal Therapist and Hypnotherapist; the collaboration did happen. But in had happened in the etheric plane or realm via the meditation/manifestation, perhaps some destiny (4 points of the compass) sprinkled in as well leading to the empirical evidence which was proved that it had happened once the two gentlemen had meet face to face. the brain is very limited in its understanding. Where as the imagination has access to other realms of thought, creativity and ways in which to break free from the limiting beliefs that we have of the notion that things need to go a certain way. when the universe unfolds a synergistic, delicious encounter rather than; grappling with the rational minds notion of what just happened it is important to STRETCH the imagination interpret the metaphors being reveling in the moment, just like a waking dream and then assess what did occur 'outside' the box of the limiting beliefs that get us stuck in missing the opportunity to ascend to a higher level of consciousness and from the vantage point explore what just occurred. Trusting that everything is in divine and perfect order. Our higher self will deliver what we are seeking but it will manifest in the material realm in another way sometimes. Appearing in another form but we get what we need NOT what we (the ego) want. therefore it is important not to assume our human brain has the answers but be open to our enlightened higher self to 'show us the way' via our imagination and explore with an open mind the miraculous way in which something manifested and reassess ones perception by raising consciousness at higher levels of thought accessed via other dimensions beyond the illusion of 3D. Then deduce from that higher level of consciousnesses, what just occurred and extrapolate the meaning unfolding an enlighten understanding which then raises ones consciousness to understand once again, we are all One, not that "free will" precludes the Oneness understanding.
In summery, the notion that the collaboration had then not been pursued after the physical meeting missed the whole point that the collaboration had already taken place in another dimension. Hence, It was the rational mind presupposing that the two gentlemen were supposed to meet and collaborate in the physical. This experience seems to also reflect the ability to mental telepathy communicate, perhaps even remote viewing and law of attraction. Metaphorically, the relevance of the '4', is the meaning of coming full circle or also you are at the 4 points of the compass; which could also infer destiny.

Dean mentions that even expert meditators’ minds wander very quickly. What could be helpful is to use people who practice authentic ninjutsu. We are expert at short bursts of intention. We train it often especially at the more advanced levels. Just a thought.

Great video Jeffrey, quite fascinating. Not being familiar with the literature on the subject, I wondered if someone could perhaps help answer a question I had. Essentially when talking about the types of magical acts, specifically manifestation, I wondered if there is a counter practice centred on making things disappear? I'm aware of claims where healers have cured conditions leaving no trace of their former condition but wondered if this is achieved by intending to make the thing in question disappear or whether they seek to transform the thing or even manifest something that eradicates the thing in question. I know from a physics standpoint it is believed that energy cannot be destroyed but merely transformed. Thus, perhaps intention for transformation may be the logical approach. Any comments on this would be are most welcome.

I know what he means by "not having the effect you'd think it would" when it comes to big paranormal events. We once had little kid-like voices laughing at us from a woods in Gregory Michigan. These little creatures had total control over our flashlights, and every time we shined them at the spot the little voices came from...the flashlights died! And they would laugh even harder. A near by shed door started to rattle and when we turned to look at the house...it looked further away than it should have. Now if that happened tonight, I'm pretty sure I'd be up all night talking about it. But no, back then we went in and went right to sleep after this. Like it was no big deal. lol

So this is my testimony about getting back into the church after 10 years of being out of it. For awhile I was an atheist and then an agnostic, however, God delivered me out of a difficult and strange period of my life that left me without doubt of His existence and goodness.
It's a bit of a long read, so bear with me.
A couple weeks into February of 2018 I experienced some dreams of a strange nature during a time where I was isolated, depressed, and desperate. I've dealt with anxiety and depression for along time and I was at the end of my rope. I had considered seriously commiting suicide two years ago and when the depression hit this time I couldn't take it anymore. I was searching desperately for something that would allow me to leave the situation I was in.
I was addicted to gaming and was very isolated. I also fell heavily into a series of books I was re-reading at the time that I had a great obsession with, The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.
A few months into a reread of this series I had a dreams in February 2018 one of which I think was prophetic, having to do with seeing a woman and man in the dream that I later saw the next day while walking and while watching TV. This was a man and woman that I hadn't met or seen before.There were also aspects of the dreams (which I can't easily get into because it's difficult to explain due to the content) that led me to believe that The Dark Tower series having to do with parallel universes was real.
I became convinced that there was a world parallel to ours, like the books, that I could gain access to if I used certain objects that I had in my possession . After weird events also began occuring in my home, with my television, and with me, I told my parents about all of it.
They were adamant that what I was experiencing was demonic deception and that I should cease reading these books and give myself over to God.
Being stubborn and delusional I decided to continue in what I thought was a great discovery and a way out of my situation.
Events transpired over the next few days that left me in a state of confusion and despair. My father also ended up in the hospital that week. It wasn't until I began to cry out to Jesus that things began to change. I began to hear from God during this time. I felt like I should rid myself of the books as well as the stuff I had gathered connected to them.
I eventually ended up getting rid of all the books and objects connected to them, as well as a lot of other stuff including my games. We were doing some work in my room at the time so luckily I had something to help keep my mind off what had been happening as well as grow in the word from listening to 107.9 on my radio.
When we finally returned to church a couple weeks later the sermon and series was about the book of Daniel, some of which has to do with prophetic dreams and visions among other things. I know now that this wasn't a coincidence.
Once I started getting involved in the church again and reading the Bible I found out that these things really aren't as uncommon or unbelievable as they seem. My mens bible study at the time had members that had experienced supernatural and amazing things as well.
I know this isn't going to sound credible if you aren't a Christian. Back when I didn't believe, these stories didn't seem compelling or true to me. However I can tell you that if you reach out to God wholeheartedly he will reveal himself to you.
I'd like to ask that if you're going through something right now, some kind of challenge or difficulty that you reach out to God and ask him to help you. Sometimes it may not seem like anything is happening, but if you're willing to hold on and push through you can see him move in your situation in miraculous ways.

I love what Dr. Radin is up to, and I do wish he would write his next book on practical magic, and not leave it in the hands of law of attraction authors ;)
This said, I can't really buy into his free will argument. The first problem is that if magic CAN work that way...in other words, by influencing multiple other free wills, then it is almost certainly doing so now, and if we bring in unconscious action, it is probably happening every day, all over the world. Taken in that context, an instruction "not to interfere with someone's free will" is unlikely to have any effect. If this is something that nature does, then nature will keep on doing it, regardless of our wishes on the matter.
The more serious problem concerns the suspicious nature of free will itself. If we take the idea of One Consciousness seriously, then how authentic multiple wills come into existence becomes a really difficult problem. One can fudge it, but the problem is real, and can't just be dismissed. It looks to me a lot more like independent wills (like independent selves) are a level of fiction...something we have really invented, and that the deeper truth is that it's the same will acting everywhere. If there really were multiple wills, then almost all magic, and possibly actually ALL magic, would become "black" because the process would involve the manipulation of other wills, even nonhuman ones inside so-called inainimate systems (which cannot really exist if all is consciousness).
But this way of picturing things (innumerable independent wills) just doesn't work very well, imo, and we can see it in Dean's own example. Whose "will" caused this event to manifest? Was it Dean's? Was it the man in the adjacent office? Was it one of the other four people on Dean's team? What determined who was victorious in the kung fu of wills? It's not a very plausible picture. And when we notice that Dean himself had no awareness of any such "kung fu" or anyone manipulating him inside his head, the suspicion grows stronger. His actions and movements were a function of the same "will" that orchestrated the synchronicity as a top-level pattern. He didn't feel anyone manipulating inside his head, because there wasn't anyone.
I don't think that personal free will has much to do with the way that magic/manifestations happen, but I do think that we have a human desire to import our species ethics into the workings of natural principles. Yet so called Black Magic obviously works just fine, or at least as well as any other supposed kind, otherwise it would have died out from all the cultures it is expressed across, long ago. Things don't survive that don't work.
The marriage of parapsychology and ancient practices of magick and shamanism is long overdue. (Or rather, the recognition of it.)

I thought the point about physicalism's being 'alive and well' was a good one. Now it is still up to us to figure out how to demonstrate the more fundamental level of awareness. Is it ever to be cloistered in the Knowing of the Subjective, or is there a way to look from the physicalist point of view and see the reality of the deeper level(s)? So far, it seems that psi research has given us an intuitive glimpse (but as Dr. Radin says, we don't know what it is that is happening.)
I'm wondering if the problem of interfering in 'free will' could be bypassed by thinking of Dr Radin's experience as mere coincidence, but still a coincidence where two free individuals attracted their individual desires out of an infinity of life experiences? A multiverse?
