Kennedy Center Honorees do not know who is going to present and perform until they walk out on stage. My favorite priceless look was Dave Brubeck when his sons performed for him.
SWEET!!! Kennedy Center Honors did a great job putting this together. Bravo to all those giving tribute to such an accomplished singer and a wonderful person. Linda Ronstadt surrounded herself with such talented people that only enriched her even more. Her family history and life before leaving Tucson for stardom is one of the great stories from the American Southwest. Olé! Linda!!!
My oldest brother met her in Tucson when he was going to U of A in 1967. They stayed in touch for years. She is so talented and very humble. Love you Linda❤
I'm a tenor and been one my whole life. I grew up singing Linda Ronstadt like my life depended on it😍. Her range was right in my sweet spot. That album she did with the Nelson Riddle orchestra is in my top 5 EVER!! Love her voice and the immense heart she sang with.
We all better Praise the Living God or the Cactus desert arizona arid sand many armed saguaro cactus will ! Get your hands up ! Honor i mean honor' i joined in watching this 42nd Annual Kennedy Center Honors ..Thanks for LIVE Events .
The term G.O.A.T. was invented for Linda. Simple as that. She sang to my heart from the first time I heard the Stone Poneys do Mike Nesmith's Different Drum. She was an intelligent genius whose songs were never just what they were. She explored the range of her vocal instrument as she trained it and when it couldn't continue to perform to her exacting standards, she gracefully retired it before the rest of us could even detect any imperceptible weakness. Linda saved her legacy and her fans from any sort of gratuitous "final tour". Carrie and Trisha did acceptable renditions of her songs but, thankfully, didn't try to emulate either her voice or her performance. And she sang with the Muppets. Come on!
Linda was the first female artist I ever got into growing up in the 70s. The voice, the look, and the will to break into the male dominated rock scene, she did that and more. She jumped from genre to genre and nailed it every time. I don't know much, but I know I love you....
Since this ms. Rondstat was diagnosed with the same crippling disease that took my mom, psp(progressive supranuclear palsy). Linda has a one of a kind beautiful voice ❤😊
@cheryldoucet5586 I'm so sorry for your loss. Yes it's a terrible, debilitating disease. My mom went fr walking, talking, to wheelchair, not speaking or eating. Hardest thing I've ever been thru. 😪
She in her later years looks like my aunt Cindy Williams.....who passed recently...linda....Im one of the millions of men who fell in love with you....for me it happened in 1974 at Anaheim stadium
Well, the distinguished and very capable guest singers were very nice....but I have to say they still could match the vocal range and overall singing quality of Linda for those songs.

Carries not trying to be Linda or even trying to outdo Linda, she is simply doing what she was asked to do, which is pay tribute to a lady she admires highly and respects fully. Full points to her I say.
I'm a great fan of Linda. I have some of her recordings. It's a tragedy that her career had to end this way. Now, I want to do some justice to Kerry Underwood. I honestly believe that she did a pretty good job with Linda's songs.

Carrie Underwoods performance was horrible! Letting a 6 year old refridgerator artist present her work when we have already seen the Renoir for decades. There should never be game show "artists" honoring true musicians and vocal artists...ever. obviously the grammys have lowered their standards considerably by allowing game show contestants and hip hop/rap. True musical talent used to be the standard as it should be.
Every guy from my generation fell in love with her, and we never fell out. She was always her harshest critic. I hope she knows how much she's loved.
And Linda did not have to appear in public barely clothed and making the music all about sex. I miss her talent character and intelligence.
Until she started spouting mouth off about politics
That she cared to speak her mind isn’t so surprising is it?
Absolutely
Linda is and will always be one of the greatest voices of generations Amazing talent ❤🎶
The look on Linda's face when Emmy Lou walked on stage was priceless.

Linda Ronstadt's 🎵 🎶 raised our generation, the best of the best! Telling life like it is!

Linda Ronstadt icon without a doubt….. 11:34 these women kicked some serious ass sounded absolutely great…
We are so fortunate to live in a time when performances will go on forever. I believe she will be an influence for future generations.
I saw her play with The Stone Ponies. Her voice was spectacular

Thanks so much for posting this. She is amazing
Always my girl. Love you Linda
None of these singer's hold a candle to Linda. No one ever again will have that wholesome angelic voice.
With that much power!!❤
No,but Carrie Underwood is close. Very pure tone. Probably could expand into other genres like Linda Ronstadt.
But Linda was one of a kind.
@@mrvlsmrv😂😂😂😂😂 That's pretty funny
Can't bear to watch this. She had a great run. Couldn't ask for anything more. 😮💨
Una de las grandes cantantes de América y del mundo !!!

Carrie did very well but Trisha knocked it out of the park. Never realized how much she sounded like Linda.
She's still a beautiful woman and her voice is unique and unforgotten.
With mexican roots she united worlds. A very great woman and artist!
W O W, crying here also.
I LOVE KENNEDY CENTER ...
It's Linda Ronstadt. That's it, that's the list. Nothing like her, nowhere.
Carrie Underwood is good BUT the soul/warmth that Linda had is missing..thankyou Linda
Agree. The only one I see as anywhere close is Kelly Clarkson, who can do multiple genres well. But Linda is still THE QUEEN!!!
I’m not a big fan of Carrie when she covers other’s songs.
I wish they’d gotten Patty Loveless and Alison Krauss to sing instead.
She is awesome. I wish they would have honor Charley Pride
Speechless WOW!!!!

Legend

Trisha; love you ~ Linda; love you more
Carrie Underwood's performance showed us just why Linda Ronstadt's were so good. She barely did the songs justice.
Really? Underwood is about as close to Linda's tone as you can get. But I get it. Linda covered so many songs of others and made them her own.
I'm a great fan of Linda. I have some of her recordings. It's a tragedy that her career had to end this way. Now, I want to do some justice to Kerry Underwood. I honestly believe that she did a pretty good job with Linda's songs.
I want a copy of that wonderful mural that appears behind Flor de Toloache. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of it?
So we get Carrie Underwood and Trisha Yearwood but not Emmylou singing? Seriously? And please tell me JT made a (performing) appearance at some point?
Carrie Underwood can’t hold a candle to Linda…too screeching for me.
Mike Nesmith wrote a song for her
Surprised that Henley could take time out of his busy schedule of suing people, to attend.
wonder how much Henley charged them for being there.
Yea, not the nicest guy.
@@MsWarriordiva With the worst dentures in rock n' roll....
Who might be doing the words in print? Mama Mia the mis-spellings..
Trisha Yearwood (heavy blonde) sounds like Linda - was she trying is that Trisha's usual style?

Carrie Underwood did not justify the song...... very bad choice
Could have done without Carrie Underwood. Completely overrated boring voice
Forget it underwood your not Linda 🤏
Trisha was great Carrie over rated I think

🎉almost stole her stone poney pic at irv's burgers in west hollywood, ca. Left it for fans. Rip.
Linda is still alive.

holy sh!T wtf did carrie do to her face?!!
I know… why?? She was such s naturally pretty woman. 😮
