Thanks for your candor, Sam. You're going to remember this very blah time next spring and summer, when Provence is once again blooming, colorful, and gorgeous, and the days are sunny and long. And the memory of today's blues will make those days even more meaningful and wonderful.
Sam, saying goodbye to your childhood home is like grieving an end to so many family memories. I feel that deep for you. It’s perfectly ok to be not ok. Im glad you found the courage to share. I hope you feel the love of this community with you. 🩷
It really is. I know it’s just the start of a new chapter but goodbyes are never easy. I really am feeling so much comfort in this little corner of the internet, thank you so much Debbie for your kindness🙏🏽
Sami, thank you for sharing. I understand the hardships being so far from family. Your vulnerability helps many people feel less alone, including myself. Seeing you sad, brought tears to my eyes, I feel your sadness deeply. Sending you love from Alaska xoxo
I know you understand where I’m coming from and I’m sorry if I made you feel sad, definitely wasn’t my purpose for this video but definitely was to maybe bring a community closer to know we’re in this together. Thank you for always being a strong role model for me, love you!
I was planning a move to France when Covid hit...and then family matters...and then something else. Fate landed you in the South of France...enjoy the gift. You can have sad days wherever you live. And remember, the wonderful thing about Europe is you can hop on a train and have a weekend [or even a day out] in a new town or village. X-mas is coming ..why not plan an outing to Colmar or Strasbourg. The grass is very green on your end. Enjoy ❣
So sorry that you haven’t been able to make the move yet, I hope you will be able to make the move soon. Such a lovely idea, if I could travel right now I would love to but unfortunately I’m unable to…hopefully soon.
Hang in there, Sam. I moved to Sweden from the US and I felt sad during Thanksgiving too. I have adult kids in L.A., and the rest of my family on the East coast. As much as I love life in Europe, it does hurt to be so far away from family. Big hugs to you and Sophia. ❤
Oh wow, must be such a challenge being so far away from your children. Sending you a big warm hug and I hope you are feeling a bit better. We’ll get through this!
Sending you love and peace, Sam. We can have everything in the world, yet sometimes, we just feel sad. It was really sweet of you to share your feelings with others, as it made me realise, I'm not alone and that others are going through stuff, too. Wishing you a better week 🙏🙂🍁🍂✨🌟
Thank you Jenny. So blessed with this little community here! Seeing the comments of how many people are feeling the same during this time is almost a comfort even though I don’t want others to feel sad it just makes me feel seen and I hope all of us together will feel the shift of love and support from one another. Thank you for sharing, sending you lots of love on this new week ahead💛
I’m so glad it reached you! I was so scared to put it out but this was the exact reason I did. I knew maybe if it just reached one person and made them feel less alone my video would have purpose. I’m so sorry you’re feeling down but we’re in this together and brighter days are to come, I’m sure of it. Sending you a big virtual hug 🫂
Aww Sam! It’s totally ok to not be ok! We all have those moments, especially around the holidays. Even though you haven’t celebrated in a while, it still hits because you are not with family and Paul is far away. You do have Sophia and she certainly can lift your spirits! Just take the emotions as they come and before you know it, you will be feeling better! Sending you a big warm hug! ❤
🤍 Hug to you. Very expected. Especially with the news from home. Be sad. Nothing wrong with it, gentle soul. But keep going out if possible every day! Staying indoors doesn't help. So cute. Two cats at home comforting each other. 🤗
Love this ❤ moving to Antibes in two months with my French husband while grieving the loss of my father & packing up our home in Colorado. So much change. Feels so overwhelming & scary. I love that you are being vulnerable. Thank you for sharing your experience. It definitely helps.
I’m so sorry MaryAnne I can’t even begin to imagine the pain in your heart from losing your father. My condolences. You are about to take on such a huge adventure, be proud of yourself for taking the leap and remember to be patient with yourself. My first year was the hardest but everyone is different, the challenges will come in waves just listen to yourself and take the time to process things. It’s such a big change. Sending you lots of love on this journey. All the best to you and your husband❤️
OMG Sammy!!! You made me tear up. I'm such a slush when it comes to people feeling lonely especially during the holidays. I rarely celebrate any holidays i just don't like them. I don't like thinking about the poor people all over this world who don't have what most people have or even just the basic needs in life. It breaks my heart. So i also get lonely and sad and down during the holidays. I hope you're feeling better and thank you for this video. It was GREAT and reminds me that i'm not the only one who feels that way especially when i'm away from family.
Oh Rocco, sorry I made you sad. I wish I could just give you the biggest embrace. We will rise into love and light once again! Love you my dear friend.
Hey love, I ve been through that when living in Paris while having a bad relationship with my family. It’s hard ups and downs but it will teach you a lot and will back on it with positivity without ignoring the hardships you went through
Thank you for sharing a bit of your story with me. You are absolutely right, there will be lessons through this even if I don’t see it now. Thank you again ❤️
Bonjour bonsoir Sam such a heartfelt lovely video I’ve often been where you are especially when your loved one is away my family are in another country I miss them everyday I think I should book a ticket go see them🥰👌I’m so pleased you shared your feelings I know you’ll touch so many going through the same even your lovely cat feels you Paul is so missed and loved won’t be long sleep well awake with What is this divine day going to bring have a fabulous week with yourself my love I loved you sharing the no bonjour sharing story enchante Hello to your gorgeous mother and father💖💖😘😘🥰🥰🌟
Hello dear Brenda! I hope you will be able to be reunited with your family again. Thank you for your well wishes for this new week ahead. I’m wishing you the same💕✨
Exercise girl!! Good for body , mind, and soul!! 5 lb weights 15 minute circuit, stretching, cardio..40 minutes 3x a week..endorphins and I know I feel so much more productive!! Especially helpful when filling the time during lonely moments...
Your energy is so cosy and listening to you is also cosy, the decoration and sofa looks very cosy as well :p I agree with "bonjour", I always say it when I enter a shop 💗☺🤍💜😇✨ps: I know what it feels like to say goodbye to a home...hope it's ok..., hugs 🫂 and take good care ♡♡♡
Praying for peace and comfort. You said it really well that even in abundance we could feel sad and that it't ok to sit and allow yourself to feel. I've never watched Gilmore Girls but the one episode I decided to watch on the plane this summer was (not on purpose) when they were in Paris :) and she got married to I think her old BF? Perhaps I should start from the beginning. Aloha.
Thank you for your prayers Lisa! I really appreciate the love!💕 Gilmore girls just brings me back to my younger days and makes me feel that comfort. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Hello Sam! I know what you mean about Thanksgiving! I’m very thankful for these videos you make and post. Did you ever watch Seinfeld on TV? It was a show about nothing! And it was such a hit for many years. So perhaps coming up with ideas for videos is not as important as taking us somewhere with you and allowing us experience a part of your day. I just love viewing your beautiful videography of the South of France and other locations. Keep doing it, please. I plan to move to France sometime in 2024, perhaps our paths will cross.
Hi Lorraine! Thank you for your encouragement! My Dad and brothers love Seinfeld and Paul and I just started watching it this year. So grateful for your support and I wish you the very best on your journey here to France next year and yes, maybe our paths will cross✨
Oh Michele, you’re not alone in your feelings. I hope this Monday brings you new opportunities and you will feel more yourself. Sending my love to you❤️
Hi Sam, I found you through Shayna Taylor and I’m about to go abroad with the hope of staying more permanently. France has been the main goal so I was wondering if you had any insights, tips, tricks, housing etc. Any advice would be so appreciated. ❤️
Congratulations on your upcoming move! I will say whatever region you are moving to look up fb groups as that really helped me when I first moved here. I was able to ask others advice or look up things in the group that I had questions or concerns about. So whatever region you are going to be staying in look up " English speakers in..." I hope that helps and wish you all the best!
Not the big blue house 🏠 🥹. Ok but I understand. It’s going to be ok. But I know you know this. The peoples comments are incredible,, they do make you feel better. 🐈⬛ ❤ hang on tight Sam, good energy coming your way. ✨
Yes, it’s very sad and hard to think she won’t be there for us anymore. All the support here has been so lovely, kindness goes a long was and is so helpful. Thanks for the good energy 💕
Oh Sam, I know what you mean about not greeting someone in France 😀 It happened to us on holiday this summer, we were getting into the bus and our son was first to go in and he didn’t say Bonjour to the driver. He is only a kid and he just probably forgot. But we had to stand there for few minutes listening to driver’s lecture about manners and was so embarrassing, it was a bit too much.
i stayed alone in AIx for 3 weeks and felt horribly alone alongside the ecstasy of that beautiful place. I am planning on buying in a few months and moving over. I think a sense of belonging makes one feel better? There are groups of international women there no? ANd by the way, seinfeld has a whole show about "nothing" :-) if you haven't seen it...DO! THank you for your videos and hope to meet you one day :-)
Definitely agree that having a community is helpful. I’ve gone to a couple of the meet ups here in Aix as well as meet people but as I get older I feel like it is harder to make connections. But I’m hopeful that I’ll one day have a stronger sense of community here😊
I knew I was going to cry. We miss you so much Sami. I’m glad you allow yourself your feelings. It’s an important part of growth. Love you
I’m sorry Mama. I was worried that I would worry you! Thank you for always being there for me, I love you!
I always love how real you are❤I always see you as an amazing and loving person.❤
Thank you Dawn, as are you 💕 sending you lots of love

Yes, it’s always comforting! Thanks for the hug 🫂 Alma! Happy Holidays to you guys 🎄
So sweet and raw and heartfelt! Yep...sometimes we have those days. Great you accepted it but also ventured out. ❤
