I thought I would finally share with you my small apartment tour in France. We are adapting to minimalist living and after moving to the South of France we had a fresh start. We have a small space of around 400 sq ft and I thought you would enjoy seeing how we designed our tiny home. I hope you enjoy seeing our apartment in France.

I love it! I am Dutch and for European standards this is not a small apartment at all, I have a friend whom lives in Paris and she would kill for a spacious apartment like yours ;) I never forget when my Canadian friend visited me she was shocked about the size of our houses haha but to me, I actually love reasonably small places.
Haha, I guess coming from Los Angeles and the homes I’ve lived in its small. I’m definitely getting used to it and realizing it’s perfect my little family.
YOUR APARTMENT IS BEAUTIFUL!!! You get so much natural light and the decor is so so nice!!! I like that you can also sit outside to eat!

I love your apartment loft. I live in a 500 sq ft loft in downtown LA. I downsized from a 900 sq ft. I love the space. It's easier to maintain and it's a lot cheaper. Most of the buildings being built in downtown are now being built with micro lofts 200sq ft - 600sq ft. as people prefer the smaller micro lofts over the expensive large lofts. I think 400 sq ft. is a perfect size. Beautiful furniture and decor sammy!!!
Thanks Rocco! I have realized that living here that I don’t need much more space, it’s perfect and helps me not buy excess things because I would have no where else to put it 😂 So crazy that DTLA is now doing micro lofts!

Such a sweet home :) I think you could fit a small table (bistro like) and two chairs in the corner next to the TV, near the window, so that you would have a space to eat at a table if you would like :) Just an idea of course!

I just love how much we are so used to rooms arrangements in our respective countries (talking about toilets being in a separate room) that when we face another one we're weirded out. ^^
Will always remember the surprise on the face of the landlord when I worked in Texas when I went "Wait the toilets are IN the bathroom ? Gross !" poor sod looked at me like I was an alien. XD
That being said more and more toilet rooms have their own sink these days.
Well at least in my area.
The thing you lucked out on though is the balcony it's rare to have one that is this large up North.
🤣🤣🤣 We are used to what we know. I am used to it now but was in so much shock when I first arrived.

Inviting and pretty home. I miss seeing Kingston. Easy to take care of plant is also the ZZ plant and pothos since you have lots of light. Idea for another video is Paul’s skills being minimal and organized. I too must maintain being minimal, it helps clear the head. Thank you for the video and always a joy to be part of your life in France where I love.
I miss seeing him in his bed, and throughout the whole house. I have been wanting a pothos, I’ll have to get one soon. I will see if Paul is up for the video idea, thanks for the recommendation! As always thanks for your support!

I loved that comment that Mexicans put their baking dishes in the oven!! It definitely makes me laugh. I do that all the time, and every time my kids want to bake they look all over the kitchen they still don't know why we do that 😂😂
🤣 can’t let that storage room go to waste
Just a little advice I think you should keep the medicine first aid kit in the kitchen because it’s the main area of the house and in an emergency you need to get to that kit as quickly as possible not only that the kitchen is also one of the popular places where accidents happen.
PS you have a beautiful minimalist home one-day want to achieve

Hi Sam, I just found your videos. I am thinking about relocating to aix and I wondered if you could do more videos about daily life, like how to find apartments, types of visas one can get to get to stay in France, etc
Hi Jorge! Aix is a lovely place to live, as for the French bureaucracy it can be a pain in the ass. It would be hard for me to create a video on these sorts of things as my husband is French so I am not familiar on what type of visas are available for people wanting to move abroad. As for apartments you can check out these websites, www.seloger.com and www.leboncoin.fr 🙂 There is a fb page called Moving to Aix en Provence and I highly recommended checking it out as others will be able to guide you, also Americans in France is super helpful. The best of luck to you!

I actually found mine through a family member. If you join moving to Aix en Provence fb group sometimes people post places they have available for rent, I hope this helps.
Your apartment looks cozy. The building looks newish. Does it have A/C?
Thank you, it is a new building. We had an ac installed when we moved in.

Oh my goodness. Thank you for saying that I thought I was the only one. I know she was probably going for some kind of vibe but it was distracting. Oh Look she's in the bathroom talking about the toilet holding a glass of wine. It's a beautiful place and she's a beautiful lady who seems warm and engaging but walking around with the glass the entire time took away from the tour.
