Size of a fan base shouldnt have anything to do with it. Youre talking like IWABO has 12 fans and it simply not the case. Even if you take them out there are still plenty other examples. You not liking a band doesnt take away from their mention. Especially when you have that as your number one.
I feel like Tatiana has a warm spot on this list. Maybe Jinjer wasn't too popular yet, but they're damn good

There are so many fantastic female-fronted rock/metal/punk bands that have come out in the last ten years and you guys manage to just make this an Arch Enemy/every-popular-symphonic-metal-band list and then threw in Darkened Nocturne Slaughter Cult to try for kvlt points.
You would find better female growlers in the underground scene.

Michal Szymula they were more like barely was. Made 2 major label albums and 1 remix album and basically quit. 3 hits and 1 co-hit and Amy walked away. Still tour on the support of an album that came out 10 years ago.
What I was trying to say they were something once, and am questioning why they would put her at #1, makes no sense to me and a few others.

Nazmus Sakib Tarja is on Parents List (yes, I know she debuted in Nightwish in 1995, but still). Floor, agreed. I don't see how they could ignore her.
Truth! #1 and #2 are not driving at all. Great vocalists, but inactive (essentially) for a long time. Floor is a powerhouse talent and not even a mention here.

I’ve seen 3 of these women live (Simone, Cristina, and Alissa [while she was still in The Agonist]). Glad to see them here. Also happy to see Amy here, despite others being upset about it. She’s here because she’s commercially the most successful and one of the first people think of. I think why the plethora of Nightwish singers isn’t on here is maybe cause that might cause a bit of tension in the comments. And also Tarja is more or less a solo artist these days, so she doesn’t front a band anymore. Not for a long time.
I was also glad to see lovely Sharon den Adel, Lzzy Hale, and Maria Brink here, too. All of these women are talented. And all the other women who front bands are talented as well AND valid. Each is unique and should not be viewed as better than the other, because they’re all amazing in their own way. Simone Simons said that it’s also silly to view these bands as “female fronted bands” like they’re somehow a different genre altogether. Or something along that line. Just appreciate them for what they are and for being amazing. And love the bands that you love, regardless of this list. This list does not decide for everyone what is good and what is not...or what you should listen to. Relax. It’s just a video.
