Really a good example why the whole cultural appropriation discussion is the biggest BS ever. If history teaches us anything, then that we always are influenced by other cultures and incorporate them into our own. Regardless of who "we" are.

This will always be the definitive Civilization theme to me. So many versions of it, but they all keep that swelling grandeur.

It's a magnificent song. It musically captures the primal essence of human progress and advancement
They all feel just a little bit different, but they all feel right. Fitting, for what it was made for.

There's something so enchantingly grandiose about the modern Civ menu themes and Baba Yetu is particularly special as the one that started this trend.

Long time fan of the franchise. Sogno Di Volare got its charm, but this is undoubtedly the better theme! Christopher Tin is an absolute legend!
I don't know, Sogno Di Volare actually brought me to tears. They're both very different, equally wonderful songs, but to say one is better than the other isn't fair in my opinion.
But you're right on one thing: Christopher Tin is a goddamn legend.

I've loved the Civ games since the very first Civilization game. Sometimes I miss the castle/palace building mechanic, it was always fun, but I've always loved the games and will continue to add them to my library. This song I've loved since the beginning and it's so magical to hear it represented so beautifully throughout the years!

If we ever get to reach Civ 10, they have to bring back this theme. A decade series game, for many decades of years, deserves to go back to its roots with its most popular theme!

This is by far the best live version I have found. I doubt the original team can do better live. Congratulations on singing to perfection one of the hardest orchestra song of the modern era in my opinion.

One of the greatest scores for a game ever made! It gives me goosebumps everytime! 💗 To bad the choir and the soloist was drowned by the orchestra from time to time, but it still was a great show.
