You must have been aware of what is happening at home with our 3 year old granddaughter - the whining voice! I feel quit convicted now to be active about it. I am agreeing with you that it is the passive allowance of things in our children that lead to bad habits. Been there the first time, trying to learn by my mistakes the second time around.
Hi there, My son goes to his grandmas on the weekends. She allows all sorts of things i do not. He whines as well as other things. How did you get it to stop with your granddaughter?
@@LookAliveYoga I simply said (in a normal voice) that this is the way we talk to each other in our home and to people outside. That using the whiny voice, which I did an example of, makes Grandma, Papa and other people not want to listen to you and really hear what you want to say. I am trying to show her that she is important as a person, even though she is 4. But that there are normal ways of behaviour and that we should follow them. I expected it of her. I did use some distraction when out in public but I had to simply persist. It took about a week of me repeating this and now she only whinges if she is really tired or hungry or sick. They understand more than we think.
@@catherinenunan3584 oh yes I totally agree! I am glad you had success. I have tried that. I really think it is his grandma she tolerates so much that once he comes back he takes a day or 2 to adjust to what I allow and what I don't. I am nearly at my whits end with these types of behaviors at times. I am keeping on trying though. I have taken things away, done time outs etc.
I am really grateful for these videos. Thank you !!
Phenomenal, thank you.
I LOVE these videos!!
