    Who is this guy? He's so charismatic and photogenic. I was watching a video about how Sasha Grey got into porn and all of the sudden he popped up on my screen. His videos are amazing and there is NOT a hint of misogyny or racism in them. If I could give him more than 5 stars I would. I'm definitely going to get all of my friends and family members Ford F350 CatStraps for Christmas next year. Keep up the great work!

    Whats stopping them from unscrewing the U bolts wedging a crow bar between the exhaust and the strap to make room and then just cutting through it?? I mean theres no noise untill you start cuttingand by then uts too late. I really dont see much how this is so secure. 😢😢

    • @girouxcampingadventures
      @girouxcampingadventures  Год назад +1

      Most people tack weld the U bolts post-install (not shown in video) making for one more deterrent. As for loosening the cable, that actually makes it harder to cut since it now wiggles according to the CatStrap website FAQ and their videos. Not arguing with you. All of this is just a deterrent. The hope is that someone sees it and moves to the next (easier) vehicle. I think it's probably as secure as a bike lock for your bike...if someone wants it then they will get it.

    • @MommaGuarisco
      @MommaGuarisco Год назад

      @girouxcampingadventures good point on the U bolts didn't think of that. As far as the strap though what I was referring to was the rubber part that heats up and sticks to the pipe. Putting something between there, do you know what I mean?

      @@MommaGuarisco You would need a lot of zip ties or more u-clamps to make it touch everywhere.

    It's a nice idea and all but I'd think it would b too ez to just cut the zip ties and remove it donut did a video on these things and timed themselves on how long it took them to remove these type of things

      There are other pieces involved other than steel zip ties. But I agree, those are easy to cut. Given enough time and motivation, a thief will cut through and take anything they want.

      @Giroux Camping Adventures Several videos show the cables inside the orange sleeve can still be cut with added time. Hopefully, thieves will look and not want to spend the effort. I am guessing that is the real outcome that this special strap strives for.

    • @girouxcampingadventures
      @girouxcampingadventures  Год назад +1

      @@majorkursk780 yep as I mentioned in other comments…just another deterrent. Hopefully they see it and move to the next vehicle instead. Keeping the good guys good and the bad guys will still be bad. Unfortunately.

    Well I got the alarm and strap. Alarm installed however the F250 has two cats and they are right off the manifold. I contacted them and was told there is another version coming that can handle the extreme heat. Once I get back to home base I will again reach out for the exchange they said can be done. Alarm is a bit trigger happy. Seems the hight of the truck let’s just enough people legs to trigger it. So I keep it off. I think it a good route just needs a bit of adjusting and better glue then I will be good to go.

    • @girouxcampingadventures
      @girouxcampingadventures  2 года назад

      Looking back, I'm glad I went cable only and not alarm kit too. The truck already has an alarm. Anyone can stop anything and steal anything if they want...so I figured I would go for lowest cost and easiest install. My fear also was that it would be annoying and too sensitive. Your story seems to have confirmed that concern of mine.

    Good to know it's still there. I was very curious about this product. There were some negative CatStrap vids (Donut Media etc) but some obviously didn't install it correctly. Which I think you actually did here as well, having clamped it down w/o using their special U channels so that the cables can slide ...

    • @girouxcampingadventures
      @girouxcampingadventures  2 года назад

      I was reviewing some of the vendor video last night after I posted this, and I noticed the updates as well...the U channels. I did not receive those with my kit last year. Keep in mind, this footage is over a year old and so was my purchase. Once I saw the U channels in the install videos last night, I made a note to myself to reach out to CatStrap and ask for a free pair. Will see what they say...

    • @dirtdogdigital3979
      @dirtdogdigital3979 2 года назад

      @@girouxcampingadventures I believe that they will not honor the product warranty unless you can prove it was installed correctly. Those cables have to move. Once the average cat burglar realizes they can defeat this by clamping it down they will start coming prepared.

      @@dirtdogdigital3979 yes, I agree...as mentioned in the video description this purchase and install is from November 2021. Also when I recorded it. At the time, the U channels (quantity 2) did not come with the kit. So...yesterday I sent a message to the "Contact Us" form on CatStrap's site. Will see what they say about reinstall options, if same exhaust clamps can be used or not, if they honor the warranty based on old purchase and parts not included in old part kit or not...and so on.
      Stay tuned...maybe I'l be doing another quick video update in the future :)

    I was under the impression the 6.7L only had a DPF exhaust system and no catalytic converter? Is the strap meant to prevent someone from stealing the DPF exhaust? They weigh excess of 90 pounds....! Would be funny watching someone try and run down the road with that....🤑

    • @girouxcampingadventures
      @girouxcampingadventures  8 месяцев назад

      The strap is a deterrent to prevent theft. The idea is, someone sees it and moves on. There are plenty of videos out there with people cutting through cables and other similar contraptions. If a thief wants something, they will get it with the right tools and time.
