I have loved A Midsummer Night's Dream from the time I was a child, pretending to dance. The piece is so rich, and the students of the Schulich School of Music handle their instruments and voices as professionals. Someday I would love to see and hear the School of Music in Canada. Meanwhile, I'm on my stationary bike with A Midsummer Night's Dream every day.
There's something special about youthful orchestras, with inclusive young choirs and brilliant vocal soloists, and when they are as good as this one, great hope for the future of future orchestral music as these young players go to many other orchestras after University. A delightful rendition of this wonderful music.
Mendelssohn was a fabulous talent who passed on far to soon.
Mendelssohn is a great Alchemist of the dream
This wonderful performance will be able to soothe humans

Good performance. Nocturne is my all-time favorite -- makes me think of lakes and forests.
What a great job!
24:11 Intermezzo - Allegro appassionato
26:38 Nocturne - Con moto tranquillo
34:37 Marche nuptiale - Allegro vivace
39:09 Prologue
39:28 Marche funèbre - Andante commodo
40:51 Danse bergamasque (Rüpeltanz : Danse des grotesques) - Allegro di molto

Wonderful performance...and once I loved Mendelssohn mostly because he brought back Bach....
He is the only post baroque i really enjoy also because of what i said remembers me bach
Such a beautiful song. I read somewhere that Hitler banned the playing of Mendelssohn because he was a Jew. And wow what a magnificent performance!

1:39 is when I usually stop listening, but you did the right transition (most conductors have the orchestra blast it, which doesn't work). More phrase dynamics in the beginning strings sequence would be nice (maybe even magical) (definitely more intense)...
Πολυ γρήγορα πέθανε συνθετης
Ο Μέντελσον έφυγε πολυ νωρίς σε ηλικία 38 χρόνων
what is the rush ?? The conductor had probably a train to catch.
