Thank you for the video. As they say, the proof is in the pudding. Showing the display underwater is the whole point of passing along important information and commentary. You accomplished it all. Thank you. I am sold on the i330R. 👍
Thank you that’s much appreciated and means a lot . No doubt like yourself kit reviews just by opening the box is not enough. Unfortunately I wish I could do more of the same on my channel . But I have to purchase the items myself. I still have my i330r and still going strong no regrets.👍
Tanks for this video, much more useful than an unboxing in my opinion. I’ve bought this very model for my daughter and she has dived with it now for the last year and loves it!
I've just bought one of these and it's nice to see it being used in "normal " UK water conditions. I dive in West Wales so in much the same conditions as you so thanks for confirming for me that I made the right choice 😁
Hmm 🤔 I looked at my settings and have not had any issues. I take you have updated the last update. To be honest I don’t know why it would be doing that . Maybe a reset . Sorry I know not much help I hope you will get it resolved as it’s a good dive computer . Ps just a thought is it set on air ???
I have this computer and recently took in on a dive in Grand Turk (Feb 2023). I noticed at the surface in full sun the computer could be a little difficult to see (within 5~ feet from the surface) at depths of 20 feet and greater the computer visibility was perfect. The brightness was perfect when set to full bright. I took the computer to 130 feet deep and it was within 3 feet of my dive buddies much more expensive Garmin system. During my assent the computer assent rate monitor worked perfectly. Warning me when I ascended too quickly and letting me know everything was "in the green" when ascending properly. I would highly recommend this computer for the budget conscious diver. The phone app that is included can be a little awkward at first but once you figure it out it's okay. The computer based version is much easier to navigate and review your dive. Hope this helps some of you.
Yes I have noticed this since I moved to new Zealand more sunny here compared to Scotland lol . This is a bit annoying but still workable . Ps there has been a recent update but not to with the brightness. Thanks for the comment is helpful 👍
I dove with this computer in the 1000 Islands in the St. Lawrence River where at depth, the visibility is similar to what you have but it was sunny. Screen was difficult to see at times on the surface or at a safety stop. Overall decent computer.
Good to hear . I have noticed that as well at times now I am in New Zealand. I have not done it yet as I keep forgetting but to adjust the brightness ie to lower it . That might work ?????
@@scubavery hope it works. I have used it as a rental but am considering buying it just because I like the features you get for the price and I think I can grow into it. I would just suck up the visibility issues at that point though.
Thanks for your video. I also have problem seeing my Oceanic Atom screen and looking an easier-to-see screen computer. Previously I'm interested in D5 but after watched some reviews, I've found that D5's small screen doesn't suit me anymore. Now I'm comparing this i330R and Peregrine.
Glad to help . I have a dive buddy that has the peregrine she love it because of the much larger screen then the i330r . The only reason I went for the i330r was it was much cheaper. I think half the price . It sort of does the same as the i330r . If money not an issue and you want to see the information I think you should go with the peregrine. But saying that I love my i330r just fits nice with clear color coded information. Good luck on your final choice 👍
Well done, the underwater visibility is very helpful! The other reviews don't really show how visible it is. Like you, my eyes aren't what they were (time for a bi-focal mask?) Cheers!
Thanks you . much appreciated glad you found it useful. I had to buy a bi- focal mask and has made my underwater gauges watching much easier. I could of made a more in-depth video ie about the app but there are loads. Thanks for freed back . Next video in the making is the scubapro wrist slate 👍
Very useful video. I'm comparing computers and looking for visibility tests underwater and videos of the computer being used underwater. There's not much around. I'm looking at this computer and the Mares Quad (or Smart which seems the same but in different shape). Have you seen either of those Mares computers in use and can compare the readability and brightness of the screen to the Aqualung i300r?
@@divetank unfortunately I didn’t have that type of vis where the sun affects the view at the safety stop. ( I wish I did ) Who knows might be a newer model coming out in the new future.
This video was awesome, looks much better in action than in person. What are the vertical stacks (bar graphs?) One on the left and one on the right with red colored squares on the upper most segments?
Hi Thanks for the feed back it’s much appreciated. Answer to your question . The left bar is your ascent rate and the right bar is the tissue loading ie tissue desaturated /loading after each dive handy for multiple dives . Are you thinking of getting one ?
@@YZFoFittie I had the deepbul cosmo which is a colour screen looked good but I didn’t like it the screen in bright dives just couldn’t see it . There are so many unboxing videos but not many being used underwater. That’s why I thought I make a video. I hope it will help in your final choice 👍
Brought one and just had it completely die on me after 5 dives. Battery went low after finishing a dive plugged it in and now it is DEAD. Brought it to my dive shop and we tried a new charger...no change...Tried my charger on a new i330 and it worked great. Hopefully it can get resolved. I love the computer except it has a very glary screen if diving with a lot of sunlight. Down deep the screen is very visible but if you are 20 feet down you have to turn your wrist and look at the screen from an angle to see it clearly. This definitely could be an issue when doing safety stops at 15 feet. :( You talk about the glare but in a sunny environment I find the glare to be quite bad to the point I may remove the "screen protector". Thoughts?
I bought one of these, the alrms at all set to ON, but when I reached the maximum ASC rate it didn’t sound any alarms, just like the depth didn’t sound any to you. Do you have any suggestions to correct the issue?
I have this computer. In surface mode, the world screen appears in green, white and blue. But in dive mode, my screen is red and orange. Why ? You can help?
If I understand right . You mean when you turn it on at the surface the symbols are green white and blue .when when underwater there are red and orange. Hmmm I don’t really know to be honest. I know you can change the colour on the setting in the alarm for max Nitrogen bar level to green or yellow. Maybe you have a newer one then mine . As long that it’s working you should be ok 👌. Sorry not much help I did look at the instructions and else where can’t find anything about dive mode colours .
I won't consider Aqualung watch. Because I just bought one i330r and had problems after updating firmware 1.004. It had black screen and can't boot up. Even can't be recharged. Seems like no one can help me. Retailer say this is my problem. Aqualung website never reply my question. This watch just like junk after 2 hours I have it. So disappointed with Aqualung.
That’s disappointing to hear . I heard they customer service is very good . There was issues of flooding there was a recall on batch numbers . Should check if yours is one of them . Should keep at them . I wish you luck
I had the EXACT same thing happen to mine on the 4th June ( 2 days ago). I tried to turn to check battery before packing it for a dive. NOTHING.... Black screen, wont turn on, wont charge, Dead. I had also installed the firm wear update after the previous dive 6 days before. The screen appears slightly frosty around the edges under the glass screen. No reply from Aqualung, the retailer just points me to Aqualung, no easy option on the Aqualung website to point towards making guarantee claims etc, despite the paperwork in the box informing me I could address guarantee issues on the web site. Not impressed after only 6 dives
@@waxymud7609 sorry to here about your watch . Seems like water has entered it due the past recall . That’s rubbish that you haven’t had a reply. This my be obvious and you have checked your junk mail ? Sorry I can’t offer any help in this matter.Hope you get the above fixed waxy mud 🤞

Thanks . I hate those types of reviews as well .
Thanks very much for doing this video. It's always great to see the equipment in action. Well done!
