    question.. how does the planning section work in the i330r... seems to me you cant really plan a couple of dives and it doesnt tell your how much surface time you have left between dives.. i looked at the manual and there is nothing on the dive planning using the i330R... seems to me you have to work our your dives on another app of but cant use the watch for multiple dive plans

    A limit of this computer is that he don't remain in gauge or free dive mode when off. Every new dive he set automatically Air.

    So I'm guessing you need an Aqualung transmitter for this to work with your tank? Is this true?

    Question, I want the default screen to be on Time and temp rather than surface time, latter ok for post dives. I sent a message to Aqualung and they say it is faulty and to send it back, and got a new one and the default screen is surface time, not sure if Aqualung understand me, has any one else have the same issue?

    Can we get an indication of what MDS' retail pricing will be for this product (as of: 23/05/22) and what the delivery schedule is looking like for the "recall-passed" (O-ring and Firmware-upgraded (altitude sensing) ) batch will be received from Aqualung ? With thanks.

    I just bought the Aqualung i330r dive computer and will be taking it on a trip to Cozumel next week. I live in the United States in Colorado at an elevation of 6,000ft and the elevation on the watch shows "SEA" for sea-level. It's been on for hours and shows same thing, I wonder if it's suppose to adjust automatically?

    • @Mikesdivestorelondon
      @Mikesdivestorelondon  3 года назад +1

      I believe that it doesn't start measuring altitude until put into surface dive mode. After that it should begin to automatically adjust

    Does it work with the cylinder external transmiter?

    • @Mikesdivestorelondon

      No, if you want air integration you'll need to go for the i770R: www.mikesdivestore.com/products/aqua-lung-i770r-dive-computer-bundle#foo&gid=1&pid=

      @@Mikesdivestorelondon this is confusing then, because the spec sheet for this product on Aqua Lung clearly says that it supports Air Integration. Are you positive that it doesn't and if it doesn't, why would the website market it that it does?

      Check under the specs section.

      @@kingofrhs1719 I was curious myself since the specifications list it but the marketing video doesn't. I reached out to Aqua Lung and will try to edit this with their answer.
      While the marketing video doesn't mention it the video does mention updates to add new features later. The internals of this (likely) are going to be very similar to the i770r, if not a software locked i770r in a smaller package. Something incredibly common in the technology sector. If that is the case it would lend to AL being able to release an update that unlocks the air integration feature.

    • @Mikesdivestorelondon
      @Mikesdivestorelondon  3 года назад +1

      Yes, interesting that they put that on the Aqualung site but that's a mistake as the unit definitely doesn't support air integration. Computers that do have air integration need to have some form of transceiver in them, it's not just a matter of unlocking software. At this price point there's no way they'll be able to offer that, or even want to (for now) as they'd kill sales of their top end units!

      @@MikesdivestorelondonI don't say the following as argument but as a short technical response.
      There is nothing about the i330r, physically, that precludes it from having an antenna integrated into it, in order to allow for the AI feature to be used later. A small SDR and antenna would absolutely fit in the i330r. Having deployed THOUSANDS of RF based devices, as an operator of a wireless ISP, and dealing with these technologies. As well as having built antenna and radios to function within our used spectrum I am comfortable saying this.
      Further, if this is truly a pared down version of the i770 it will most certainly have some of the hardware required for AI. As that support would be baked in at the fabrication level of the i770 SoC, or at minimum, the board level for the production of the i770. With it being far cheaper to just software lock out features not (currently) wanted on the i330r than to go and redesign the product.
      This behavior is seen VERY frequently in technology. In the PC world if certain tiers of the product stack are limited on availability, or you need to hit a new tier outright, manufacturers are known to take higher tier products, pare them down via firmware (software) and sell them at the lower price point. Specific examples of this are GPUs, both AMD and Nvidia. Another is back around 2006 with AMD and the Phenom line of processors. Many 2 and 3 core Phenom II were actually 4 core Phenom II with the other cores disabled, so they could fulfill the 2 and 3 core segments. Many, many, of us professionals bought the 2 and 3 core products and unlocked them to a 4 core product. Intel did something similar in the mid 90s with their Coppermine architecture.
      Another example are Fluke multimeters. The newer Flukes have a tendency to be software locked versions of each other, when looking at a given product family.
      This is the ONLY hope I hold for the i330r to get AI via a future firmware update.
      *EDIT: Big edit! Thanks for being the first up with a video and for taking the time to respond to us on here! It is appreciated, you are the only one with a clear video on the i330r.*

    Be careful if you have i330r. I just bought a i330r diving computer from their retailer. But the next day it won't boot up after updating the firmware. The retailer told me to claim the warranty directly from the brand. But Aqualung official don't want to take any responsibility, either. Ask me to deal with the dealer I bought from. This is Aqualung's attitude to customer. I never consider any electronic product of this brand.
