Oh, this is wonderful 😄. He's taking such simple materials and creating works of art. A true craftsmen carrying on a priceless tradition. I've watched all four videos now and they've given me such a sense of the "heart" of Appalacia. I am so looking forward to all that's to come. Well done Josh!! Thank you!! 🥰
I've had some e-mail exchanges with Jay the past couple of weeks and he is as helpful and humble and excited about his work as this video shows. I must add that it takes some special skills of a different kind to engagingly tell a story like this in a six-and-a-half-minute video. Well done!
Jay is an incredible human, with remarkable talent- both in his creations and his musical abilities! Thank you so much for your kind feedback, and being here for the launch of this new series!!
How interesting! I love how he has an eye for things that most would throw out and turn it into something beautiful, that brings so much joy to so many.
Loved this. My mother made a guitar for her baby brother when he was about 4, from a stick, a Prince Albert tobacco can, and 4 rubber bands. He has played guitar standing behind some of the biggest stars in country music during the 60s and 70s.
CBGs are great!! I took guitar lessons when I was a kid in the '60's but got bored when my teacher wouldn't teach me rock'n'roll tunes and quit (plus there were too many strings!) 50 years later I discovered 3 string cbgs! Now I build'em with pickups and play the classic rock'n'roll I wished I could've played in high school (to get the girls!! 😉)
Jay is incredibly talented and sincere. We've ordered a cigar box guitar from him and plan to order another. May never make it sing the way he does, but he sure makes it look easy and enjoyable. Love his heart and craftsmanship!! Bravo on this piece!!!!!
What a talent. I am not musically inclined but what a gift for people who are. One thing about these storyteller videos we get to hear such incredible stories, hear their hearts and see talents from some great people. Keep them coming.
@@storytellersofappalachia true. Just seem so rear these days. Best wishes from a humble cbg builder in Norway. Such a good feeling to be creating something unique and then be able to make music with it too😊❤

Fill the world with this kind of people and we're good to go✋
They're here, just aren't given a platform to be seen or heard as often as the antithesis...we're working to change that!

Datsun? Wow. Thought they were all gone
