Fun little tidbit here. One of Wafflepaw's park friends is named Molly. Mollypaw was one of the name options of the poll and the one I submitted, adding that she was my late childhood cat that passed away in 2021. The description is almost perfect for my Molly, just minus a bit of white. But knowing how tortoiseshell and calicos are the same in the UK, I'm seriously convinced she was added as a little nod to MY Molly! And even if it's just a coincidence, no one can tell me it's not, even by accident!
i think a reboot would be really neat. i feel like there's so much bloat within the clans now, like you said with all of the nothing background characters. plus doing a reboot with an already established fanbase would eliminate the need for extensive world building like with the first few books of Into the Wild. The first book came out nearly 21 years ago so a reboot is definitely deserved by this point.
And also I would just love a Lionclan Leopardclan series. That is based off past warriors bcz we have never gone that far back in time yet. I almost wonder if the authors re-connect Lionclan Tigetclan And Leopard clan bcz in the past 2 arcs they weren't spoken of
but then would it feel like… “warrior cats”? warrior cats with none of the og’s doesn’t feel like warrior cats in my opinion- i grow overly attached to a characters (currently have a hyperfixation on ashfur), so a reboot with new cats without knowing what happened to the old cats would make some people pretty upset (it took me a while to finally read dawn of the clans and then after reading it i liked it so much i was unable to read anything else and became hyper fixated 💀)
My thoughts on the book (Spoilers obviosly): I loved it! Specially Frostpaw and Sunbeam had amazing moments! Frostpaw had to go through hell and back. Her paranoia was great written, her time with the park cats was much needed. I loved that she realized on her own who did tried to kill her. It makes sense she didnt wanted to know first, it is hard to accept that someone you love is the one who wants to hurt you. That Riverstar had showed her what her Mum did was heartbreaking. And Frostpaw trying to realize that she is basicly is in hell... she needs a hug lol. And therapy. Speaking of therapy - Nightheart did a fairly good job! At first I was a bit annoyed by him, because he didnt really do anything but later on I realized that she needed a friend. Which Nightheart offered her. They could bound over the pressure they had in life and he gave her all the time she needed. The scene where he thought he could become famous was so funny!!! Still, I fell bad for Sunbeam. I get that he had not the chance with Frostpaw to say goodbye but still... Sunbeam also had a bad time! Getting yelled, shamed and guilt trip by her mother infront of her boyfriends family lol. But she did amazing! She felt more like Sunbeam from the first book, which is great. I loved the bonding time she had with Nighthearts Family and friends. ThunderClan felt more like a Clan then in the last two series! Myrtelbloom, Bayshine, Dewnose etc... Good thing that Sunbeam stood up for herself with Cherryfall and later on at the Gathering. The Gathering, holy starclan! I loved the last Gathering. All the drama! Berryheart is such a fun character! I totally forgot tho that Hollowflight is also a brother of Sunbeam lol. Puddleshines "see, I tricked you all" wad so funny ngl. Then Splashtail announced as the leader was a great way to end the book. We got Squirrelstar!! And Ivypool! I love that Squirrelstar and Brambleclaw sharing some sweet moments, you can read how reliefed they both are. Would habe been nice if Brambleclaw never was abusive in the first place but oh well. Ivypool and Dovewing had some nice moments. Good thing that Dovewing stood up against Ivypool. She is so much happier in ShadowClan. ShadowClan Dovewing is my favourite Dovewing. Best book since a long time! specially the last gathering. Karen Berryheart (who's properly still onto something) is something that I needed.
One thing i really appreciated was that Frostpaw and Nightheart didn't try to impose the clan's way of living on the cats in the park, and instead listened to them and saw that cats outside of their society arent inherently inferior. And i liked that they play even as adults while the clans seem to just work all the time. Im glad that Squirrelflight didn't die but it does hurt to know that Leafpool is dead. Also one of Smoky's kits being named Little Daisy is really cute, i think Daisy deserves some respect and recognition. More than anything, im glad the conflict with Riverclan wasn't solved immediately and we wont have to struggle for things to do in the back half of the book like the last 2 arcs. It does seem a bit strange that there are almost no apprentices in any clan atm but i doubt thatll ever be brought up again
Sunbeam girlbossing was my favorite part, she's finally become her own character again seperate from Nightheart Oh, one thing at the very start of the book I just thought was dumb... Sunbeam thinking ThunderClan's forest are barren???? Excuse me, you got your forests mixed up, ShadowClan's forest is more open while ThunderClan's is full of brambles and foliage, it was a whole plot point for how they won a battle in The Sight driving the ShadowClan patrol into the thorns! Frostpaw getting spayed had me dying laughing, the humans finally care about TNR and they get Frostpaw of all cats!

This sounds like the best of the arc so far, good to hear. Gotta love berryheart, whether intentional or not, the Erin's have made an incredibly annoying yet entertaining character. I love characters who are irritating and fun at the same time, can only imagine when sunbeam gets pregnant, Karen grandma berryheart will be hilarious if we get that.
I think starclan didnt tell Frostpaw who tried to kill her and who killed Reedwhisker because: a. She wouldnt believe it, she had hearts in her eyes for splashtail before the murder attempt. b. She already knew who tried to kill her, she knew the whole time, she had a trauma responce that prevented her from acknowledgeing it. But whenever someone provoked her to remember she would shut them down defencively as if she didnt want to tell them. And when she learned to meditate, and to trust others again, she was willing to admit it.
personally I think the weirdest thing about the new arc is the implication that frostpaw being spayed somehow enhanced her starclan connection. I know the timing doesn't quite match up, but her starclan connection started up for no reason, and her being spayed happened for no reason, so I feel like it's natural for readers to make the connection.
Something I want to point out is thst Podlight is Curlfeather's brother. I think Frostpaw's entire family, not Graypaw and Mistpaw, judt Frostpaw's mother, uncle, and grandma, are working with Splashtail. I just think its fishy (pun intended) that the new RiverClan "medicine cat"/starclan link is Podlight. Someone who can name RiverClan's new leader is Curlfeather's kin.
I theories that one of the park cats might be the next Riverclan leader. Bee says he keeps having a dream where he's walking along a frozen river that stings his paws and cats he doesn't recognize are watching him curiously from the river bank. Plus Frostpaw keeps talking about how the clans need to make a big change.
This book has made me wonder if the actual play is going to be Whistlepaw being Riverclan's medicine cat. Kestrelflight is around Jayfeather's age, so although he's not young, I believe he has time to have another apprentice. They've stated that (from my understanding, I could be wrong) Whistle and Frost will be close. They're on the next cover together, surrounding Splashtail. I wonder if the endgame will be FrostWhistle for real - with Froststar and Whistle being her medicine cat. That would make my life, even if it's like a TallJake situation where it's not explicitly stated but they're just really close. Whistlepaw seems to genuinely care about her, and Frostpaw could use someone like her. It's likely that we won't be returning to these characters / Riverclan for awhile, since the next SEs are likely going to be Ivypool and Rootspring based on the hints. They could in book six give us a really strong hint at FrostWhistle being canon and just not have to mention it again - which would, I think, make everyone happy, even their weird homophobic publishers. 🥲
I think Frostpaw is definitely going to be the next medicine cat. Her getting spayed seems like a perfect way to ensure that is the case. They could definitely do a frost×whistle medicine cat ship though. Like Mothpool on steroids!! lol
Also, HarperCollins isn't actually homophobic. They have a ton of other gay stories and characters. It's something oddly specific to Warriors. Even the other series, like Pridelands, have gay characters.
Nightheart was really boring in this book, and I was disappointed that Sunbeam didn't start to resent him for leaving her again, I really thought that's where they were going. Frostpaw was easily the best perspective in this book! I really liked the Curlfeather reveal, and Podlight faking visions was good direction to go. I will sad if we immediately loose Squirrelstar after this arc, but I do want new cats to take power. ALSO PLEASE can they kill off Leafstar! She had been in power for way too long lol! Also I feel like a lot of people forget how young Hawkfrost was when he was evil. He was younger then Brambleclaw, so he was probably only what like 2? He also never had an apprentice :)
Nightheart just needs something else to do right now. His whole arc seems to have been resolved earlier so he’s just chilling. I actually never realized that Hawkfrost was like 2 when he died. I suppose I always chalked up his evilness to being influenced by Tigerstar 1 which makes me wonder why Splashtail is so ambitious.

i love them not because i think they make a good couple but because THEY think they make a good couple like .. they're just two people raised in weird oppressive environments jumping at the first opportunity to be around someone who takes them seriously
this is a totally random thought but i think i’d find it really interesting if nightheart became a mediator-like figure in thunderclan like tree is in skyclan, and maybe from there they could make it a permanent role in all the clans? i’m unsure if it would work well but i’m intrigued enough to want them to try it
Actually yeah, I think the role would suit Nightheart perfectly! He’s always held differing perspectives on the warrior code and this book in particular shows how much he wants to avoid and prevent war (though mostly for personal reasons relating to Sunbeam). I imagine he’d find a lot of satisfaction in having a mediator role and it would definitely be a way to create a unique legacy for him and bring his arc to a close.
Here's to hoping for a soft reboot like you suggest with a jump between arc 1 and 2, or better yet another Dawn of the Clans but with Lion Clan, Tiger Clan, and Leopard Clan (mainly because I Really want to see where those even came from and a bit more beyond the Field Guides)... also maybe a novella or something with Warrior Clan since they're kind of fun. IDK, but I really really hope Squirrelflight/star is truly a leader because she's had a rough time and deserves it at this point. (And yes I'm biased as she's one of my favs)
I hope the same for Tclan And Leopardclan, It's almost like they forgot about that and retconnd it bcz no current arc cats speak of it but it was mentioned multiple times in the first series
@@Twilightwolf34820 plenty of talking animal books have the animals have internal mythology - sure it didn't have much of a purpose in warriors but it's just silly worldbuilding. dawn of the clans is the clan origins, not really any room for literal tigers and leopards in the setting
Honestly I feel like the fact frostpaw got spayed is not going to come up again or be a big thing with splash tail with a later scene calling her useless for not being able to have kits
@@viral4983 it is more likely that she got sprayed. There are different ways to spray a cat, one is fitting with the wound actually. It makes more sense to spray a stray cat and let her go then giving her an implied that needs to be chance because it is a stray cat. Try to catch her again.
@@viral4983 something to note in England where the books are taking place on the flank. I saw this on Twitter and after looking it up some vets in the country do this. While she may not be as the lack of ear markings we have seen cats from the clan jump to that conclusion. Personally in a book series with very humanized cats it’s kind of messed up. But I hope this is used for a big moment for splashtail taking of the r mask and giving ashfur a run for his money than not. It would be such a strange thing to do for someone who wanted to be a warrior and was thinking about having kits. Also taking Nighthart’s balls would of been poetry in a messed up way

I think the book had a lot of flaws and was kind of a mess (?), but it was so entertaining I didn't really mind. Frostpaw basically having a road trip to rediscover her inner child and heal was the best use of a traveling book perhaps ever, and I think Nightheart made a good road trip partner. I was happy seeing Finchlight and Sparkpelt act like decent people after the strange characterization choices made in Book #2 Sky, too. It feels like they forced the background characters to be weirdly awful to him to justify his behavior when he was really never much in the right to begin with, buuuuut now that Finchy and Sparky got redeemed I can just try and forget Sky like it was a bad dream.
Spoilers I guess I honestly think it's really Strange when Sunbeam was training Spotfurs kits, how they were talking about what makes each clan unique if it's not prey, a question everyone has been asking, and I don't even think they gave an answer, they kinda just brush it off and continue hunting🤣
Even Crazier theory, Splashtail is supposed to mimic/be a parallel/be like a reincarnation of Hawkfrost. Their Designs are similar, they both have a bloodlust for power, they both tricked their close medicine cats, and they are related. I have had this since the start of the Arc lol.
Squirrelflight has became leader (I'm not on that book yet but still) I'm really happy because bramblestar was getting bad and i know it's not really real in the book or they don't say anything about it but bramblestar is a bad mate so hopefully him and squirrelSTAR won't be together anymore or bramblestar will dead is a book or 2 but it will probably be a arc or 2 not sure if squirrelflight with be leader for to long tho

I do NOT want wasp and waffle to join thunderclan! I love love love them but thunderclan is so bloated already, it doesnt need more cats ! Im certain that wasp is going to end up in riverclan, he seems like hed want to stay with frostpaw and help teach riverclan how to meditate. Waffle might go to shadowclan? Considering theyre going to be in shadowclan for the next book... But tbh what i REALLY want is for him to go to skyclan so he can keep his silly name and end up as wafflepelt or something hehe.
if you go to wafflepaws wiki it basically already states that wafflepaw wants to be in thunderclan and wasp does too. it also says in the wind blurb Spoilers- “ while nightheart has his paws full training two new apprentices” or something like that.
so yea I think they’re both in thunderclan lol. Which I dont mind all that much…but I do think a lot of cats in tc need to be killed off such as Cloudtail, Brightheart etc.

They tried a soft reboot with Dawn of the Clans but nobody read it so if they try another reboot I'm guessing it'll be either far future or new Clans.

Here's to hoping for a soft reboot like you suggest with a jump between arc 1 and 2, or better yet another Dawn of the Clans but with Lion Clan, Tiger Clan, and Leopard Clan (mainly because I Really want to see where those even came from and a bit more beyond the Field Guides)... also maybe a novella or something with Warrior Clan since they're kind of fun.
IDK, but I really really hope Squirrelflight/star is truly a leader because she's had a rough time and deserves it at this point. (And yes I'm biased as she's one of my favs)

I hope the same for Tclan And Leopardclan, It's almost like they forgot about that and retconnd it bcz no current arc cats speak of it but it was mentioned multiple times in the first series
@@Twilightwolf34820 plenty of talking animal books have the animals have internal mythology - sure it didn't have much of a purpose in warriors but it's just silly worldbuilding. dawn of the clans is the clan origins, not really any room for literal tigers and leopards in the setting
Honestly I feel like the fact frostpaw got spayed is not going to come up again or be a big thing with splash tail with a later scene calling her useless for not being able to have kits

She said a wound on her flank, not her belly, she got in implant not fully spayed, usually those only last a year before needing to be replaced
@@viral4983 it is more likely that she got sprayed. There are different ways to spray a cat, one is fitting with the wound actually. It makes more sense to spray a stray cat and let her go then giving her an implied that needs to be chance because it is a stray cat. Try to catch her again.
@@viral4983 something to note in England where the books are taking place on the flank. I saw this on Twitter and after looking it up some vets in the country do this. While she may not be as the lack of ear markings we have seen cats from the clan jump to that conclusion. Personally in a book series with very humanized cats it’s kind of messed up. But I hope this is used for a big moment for splashtail taking of the r mask and giving ashfur a run for his money than not. It would be such a strange thing to do for someone who wanted to be a warrior and was thinking about having kits.
Also taking Nighthart’s balls would of been poetry in a messed up way

I think the book had a lot of flaws and was kind of a mess (?), but it was so entertaining I didn't really mind. Frostpaw basically having a road trip to rediscover her inner child and heal was the best use of a traveling book perhaps ever, and I think Nightheart made a good road trip partner. I was happy seeing Finchlight and Sparkpelt act like decent people after the strange characterization choices made in Book #2 Sky, too. It feels like they forced the background characters to be weirdly awful to him to justify his behavior when he was really never much in the right to begin with, buuuuut now that Finchy and Sparky got redeemed I can just try and forget Sky like it was a bad dream.

I honestly think it's really Strange when Sunbeam was training Spotfurs kits, how they were talking about what makes each clan unique if it's not prey, a question everyone has been asking, and I don't even think they gave an answer, they kinda just brush it off and continue hunting🤣

Crack conspiracy theory, but Splashtail is related to Hawkfrost in some way and that’s why he wants to be a leader.
That is the only valid explanation. Gotta have some of that Tigerstar the First’s blood to be an ambitious antagonist in this series lol
Even Crazier theory, Splashtail is supposed to mimic/be a parallel/be like a reincarnation of Hawkfrost. Their Designs are similar, they both have a bloodlust for power, they both tricked their close medicine cats, and they are related. I have had this since the start of the Arc lol.
Squirrelflight has became leader (I'm not on that book yet but still) I'm really happy because bramblestar was getting bad and i know it's not really real in the book or they don't say anything about it but bramblestar is a bad mate so hopefully him and squirrelSTAR won't be together anymore or bramblestar will dead is a book or 2 but it will probably be a arc or 2 not sure if squirrelflight with be leader for to long tho

Im certain that wasp is going to end up in riverclan, he seems like hed want to stay with frostpaw and help teach riverclan how to meditate. Waffle might go to shadowclan? Considering theyre going to be in shadowclan for the next book... But tbh what i REALLY want is for him to go to skyclan so he can keep his silly name and end up as wafflepelt or something hehe.

so yea I think they’re both in thunderclan lol. Which I dont mind all that much…but I do think a lot of cats in tc need to be killed off such as Cloudtail, Brightheart etc.
