  • How to have spotless dishes by installing a dishwasher water filter.
I'm installing a HOUSEPURE Dishwasher filter by Water, Inc. (makers of BodyGlove filters) in this video. The filter is specifically designed to handle the hot water used to supply the dishwasher.
Included are tips on location, swapping the position of the in and out ports of the filter, rotating the hot water shut-off valve to make it all fit better, and cutting and reconnecting the old copper line to the dishwasher.

It was my house that Greg installed the dishwasher filter on. Now my dishes are really spotless, even without using any rinse agent at all. What a nice difference!
    Thanks Greg!

I have a condo rental where I am now my 3rd dishwasher since 1996. I found out the association's maintenance never flushed the hot water heaters and I was getting tons of sentiment in the dishwasher. This filter would solve that problem. Thanks for posting!

Another option is the Aqua Pure AP-420 whole house filter (made by 3M). It is installed in the water heater feed line, or the main line into the residence. It is rated at 5 micron, so it will keep sediment out of the water heater and extend its life. The filter uses a USDA approved substance called Siliphos to hold calcium and magnesium in solution so that it does not precipitate (stick to) pipes and appliances. I have had EXCELLENT results with it and my 8-year-old water heater does not make any noise! Several 10 inch housings will accommodate it. The filter can be purchased for around $85 for a two-pack. Filter will last up to 6 months of use.

Not a bad product, if all one cares about is the shinny dishes. The product actually works but the cartridge needs replacing after so many uses. The reason this unique is that this is Hot Water that is being treated, not cold water.

@mistertime This is a Softener option that is Point of use, having no effluent waste water and accepts HOT Water! Cheap alt. to a Softener when the Dishwasher is the point of concern. I consider it very cost effective for its service offered and rendered.
Yes it is under pressure 24/7 with Hot Water. This init is a flow thru unit, so it takes no time to do its job, I hope that confirms your thoughts as to why it costs more than just a Carbon Cold Water filter.

This is a $300 filter with $50 replacement cartridges. The website doesn't really seem to say the cartridges last. Seems kind of spendy for a filter. Is that because it filters quickly and maintains pressure?
