I installed my X0 group. Everything according to the instructions, but despite the smooth transitions and no chain skip on the cassette, I encountered an issue I can't get rid of. On the second gear (from the top), when pedaling backward, after a few rotations, the chain misses the cog (it doesn't engage correctly) and drops onto the cogs below, briefly locking the drivetrain. The derailleur gets confused, so even if the chain returns to its position, everything squeaks, and only after shifting gears again does it return to normal. Any ideas what could be the cause?
You really need to make sure both the derailleur AND the axle bolts are torqued correctly to spec! I had shifting issues with my Stumpjumer evo until I torqued the thru axle to the correct spec rather than just hand tight.
Curious on the bottom bracket. When you order the whole transmission package, it doesn't come with a bottom bracket, correct? Should it be good to go with whatever bottom bracket you've already got on your bike?
You would have the correct BB if you are changing from one SRAM Dub Standard crank to the T-Type crank. There will be a spacer kit in the box with the Transmission Kit. The kit does not come with a Dub BB.
Great tutorial. What’s your opinion on how Transmission performs compared to older AXS? Is it actually that much better? I am torn on T type or older AXS.
Depends on who’s using it. For recreational use and weekend warriors it’s a very nice luxury. For people that participate in race events, the shifting under load and impact durability of the rear mech could make or break your race day.
Brilliant video. I wonder how many bike shops dont know how to correctly install.
Nice video Gents - great to see you Andy!
Thanks, hope all is well brother!
@@pedalandypedal Did you know I’m back in the UK? No TX heat! Different riding!
@@stevengrace6712 I did not know, but I'm jealous!

Torque to spec is always a good call
Awesome tutorial, thanks! Do you treat the set up any differently when using an oval chainring?

@@swibiruDrew Yeah, I currently have the SRAM Dub bottom bracket on my bike. (standard, not wide, I believe. Specs in the manual just say SRAM DUB).

The App says to set it up in SAG position. You did not?
Did not. That prompt pops up because “my bike is not listed” was selected.
You put it in the 6th gear though 😂
1+6=7🤷♂️
Yeah but you shifted 5 times... "Two, three, four, five, six"
@@zenomolteni1253 one of the oldest adages in bike repair is “Do as I say, not as I do.”😜 We’ll give Drew a pass on that.
@@pedalandypedal Also should've setup the derailleur with the shock in sag as the app said..
@@anttiharingthat’s sram pulling cya because he selected “my bike is not listed”. The numbers work and setup is spot on.
