It does work! But you need to be consistent. I stopped for a couple of months and they grew back. Not as bad though

I've found it better to shave after using the IPL and wait for hair growth to show up in one week then use the IPL again with stubble then shave afterward. I feel that the light followes down to the roots better.
Great that you found your way of doing this 👏🏻😊 I think the only reason they tell you to shave before the treatment is the smell (because when you use this light on hair you can smell burning) and also the treatment head gets more dirty 🤔
Yeah.. a little burnt smell but I think better results.
Check out Dr Oz Lazer hair removal. It's at bit silly but shows how the IPL light travels down the hair to kill the follicle.

I've been using the braun ipl for 3mnths now and its made a massive difference!
Plus it's made my skin smoother compared to waxing.
One minus point is that its painful.

Thanks for the review. But I think it’s mentioned in the manual book that you can use any form of hair removal before the IPL session, even waxing and epilators.
Hey! Yes you are right, it is mentioned in the manual that you can use any form of hair removal. But I did some research and I found that if you wax between or after treatments this will reduce the effectiveness of IPL, so I decided to just stick to shaving :)
Waxing would defeat the purpose because it it supposed to kill the follicles but if you was you remove the follicles.
You’re basically supposed to use a non traumatic method of hair removal

Hey! Well I use it on my upper lip, but I have to hold some air in my mouth to make my upper lip bigger so the sensors catches the skin 😁

Be careful, because laser and IPL have the opposite effect on some people and make more hair grow than before. I had this problem. Then I had to spend a fortune on electrolysis to solve the problem.

I think I start to see results. Some small patches on my legs and underarms are hairfree and the hairs take a bit longer to grow back after shaving. But it’s only been 4 weeks now, and there’s still many hairs left 😊

Yes, it is! My legs and underarms aren’t 100% hairfree though, there are still few hairs growing back, but they’re pretty smooth 🙂 I’m very happy with the result ❤️🌸

Yes, it does get hot...because of that, I turn it on a lower level sometimes , so it can cool down a little 🤔

Does the large head for legs have a glass window at top like the small head? Mine just came and has no glass and I am afraid to use it
Yeah the big head doesn’t have that glass 😊 I remember somebody also asked me the same question because on their device there was no glass as well, so I think its normal 👍🏻☺️

Yes, it is written in the instructions, but someone commented that they like to shave after the treatment and it worked for them also 🤷🏻♀️

You need to shave before your treatment. If not your skin gets burnt.

Hey! Thanks :) I personally didn't get any ingrown hair from this device, and before when I used to epilate I would always get ingrown hair, so I think it is save to say that IPL is better way, at least for me :)

Hi, can you sugar wax your arms before the treatment? How long should you wait to do the treatment then, is 2-3 days enough? I am sceptical to waxing because it should aim the hair follicle which we will remove with waxing but also afraid to shaving my arms because my hair will be terrible then 😔
Hey, you can definitely sugar wax and you have to wait 2-3 days before ipl treatment ☺️

HONEST REVIEW: I’ve used this same device for 6 months, and I have hair growing still. After the first couple of times I noticed the hairs decreasing and growing back slower, but now after 6 months the hair grows back as it did before I started using the device.
That’s another proof that this device is not gonna work the same one everyone 😦 I personally noticed that some weeks my hair grows slower and some weeks faster 🤔 but still I have to shave once a week anyway...

I personally didn’t need a smaller head, if you want to treat your face you can definitely position big head on there (you just need to do a good angle) . But I think it’s a personal matter, if you want to be VERY precise, yes small head would be helpful for that ☺️
Did use laser glasses too? Even when you are using it for your face you did it without glasses?
I don’t use protective glasses but I try not to watch directly to the light during the treatment

I just wait until it cools down then take a dry cloth and clean the treatment window 😊
Now I’m torn! I use a Braun epilator but my hair grows back so fast, especially in the same places as yours. I wonder if it would ever remove my hair completely or if I’d need to continue using it forever. I just want it all gone 😂
I think some areas are more stubborn and ipl is too weak to tackle hair in there 🤔 I am actually thinking to do a course of laser treatment in salon on my armpits and after that continue doing ipl instead of going for touch ups in salon, we will see how it goes 😀
Laser hair removal isn't permanent.
it slows down the growth and that's why you need a follow up because it doesn't destroy the hair follicle itself
whether it's home treatment or a clinic you'll always need a follow up session every 3 to 6 months depending on the rate of your hair growth
However it's Way better than epilation, shaving or waxing
Witch IPL device is the best, this one Braun Silk or the Phillips device?
Sorry I can’t compare these two because I haven’t tried Philips IPL

Just received this device as a present and i noticed that none of the standard or precision heads have no glass(is just an empty space) and the cleaning instructions say to clean the "treatment window".I couldn't find any informations about the heads so i'm a bit afraid to start the treatment as i don't know if is safe.Does yours have the "protection glass" or is just and empty space?

Hey, the lamp and the glass is in the device, and the heads is just to adjust how wide IPL light is gonna go ☺️ I don’t know if I explained it well 🤔

Yes that's what i thought too, i am just confused about the head attachament...it was supposed to have a protection glass or something or is just an empty hole through which the light gets in contact with the skin(is a gift and i have no idea where they purchased this etc, hope is genuine that's my concern) :) I looked online for info about the head attachaments but found nothing that specify if they have a protection glass or is just an empty space.
I have original one, but my one has no other attachments than the original head, and that head doesn’t have the glass 🤔 I think by saying to clean the “treatment window” they mean the walls inside the attachment ☺️

The thinner skin areas will be more sensitive, keep that in mind

You can use it on your face, but not higher than cheeks ☺️ I personally use it on my face and Some of the thick hair disappeared, but some are still growing (just slower than it used to...I used to use wax strips)

Use it according your needs, you may not need to use it as frequently as the instructions says, because you probably already have hair reduction 😊

I'm not the channel owner, but the manual states that this isn't recommended for use on facial hair for men. Women can use it anywhere below the cheekbones, but not the forehead as the flash can damage your eyes.

Hey, once it cools down I wipe it with slightly damp cloth, it helps a bit, but there is still some black dots, that I can't remove...It's from the burned hair... and for me it is impossible to clean it out :/

You can shave it or epilate/wax but if you do the root extraction make sure you wait for couple of days before IPL treatment ☺️
I've been using it for 5 month and I see very small difference. I still need to shave my legs every second day... The hair feels thinner but it is still growing. I am not sure if I need a different one?
Keep using it, at the first 5 months my results wasn’t that good also, now on my legs I only need to shave maybe once in two weeks, but off course it depends on body part 👍🏻

You can go to shower and apply your moisturiser straight after the treatment, it’s only important to have clean skin before the treatment ☺️ and yes, you have to shave every area before treatment, even the chin part 🙌🏻

Yes, as long as the skin there is not too dark (you can find skin colour pallet on their page)

i went to a place to get laser and b 4 she did the laser she applied a gel. I see u do not use any gel??
I think the gel is to reduce the pain of the treatment. Laser treatments is more painful than IPL, but if you are not tolerating pain you may want to use this gel for IPL as well ☺️

So you are asking if you can wax when you completed the ipl treatment course yes? I think you can, but in 3 months of using it you will see minimal results 🤔 you might want to do the treatments (with shaving) for longer ☺️
You can't wax or epilate when doing laser treatments because laser needs to have a hair root to "hit" where wax and epilators remove the hair from the root. So if you do laser and go back to waxing and epilating, you pretty much starting all over again.
